When one thinks of Kashmir, the first thing that probably comes to one's mind is military regime and political unrest. However, Haq Se completely changed that for me. It made me realise that the people of Kashmir have dreams just as we do, which they are unable to chase just because of the unrest in the region. It is the story of 4 sisters- Jannat, Meher, Amal and Bahira.
The eldest sister, Meherunisa, is your quintessential good girl who everyone relies on, but the more you get to know her, you realise that she has a dark past and is hiding away a lot of pain. Next up is my favourite character, Jannat Mirza. A strong, confident and bold journalist. Her passion of wanting to do something for Kashmir, and her drive makes her the absolute star of the series. Amal is probably the most complex character of the whole series. You know she is not a bad person but you just cannot help but be annoyed at her all the time. At last, Bahira is just a little ray of sunshine. Her voice is so beautiful and thanks to her, we get to hear some incredible music.
Rajeev Khandelwal as Dr. Rizvi is brilliant, and his chemistry with Meher is spot on. The pace of their love story is very slow and hence, believable. He has his flaws and shortcomings but that's what makes him a real person. Tabish Azad aka Azi is absolutely charming and delightful. His dedication to Jannat makes you want to root for him so badly. Scenes of Azi and Mirza's friendship are an absolute delight. Overall, Haq Se is a must watch, and I will recommend it to anyone and everyone.
