I only recommend watching this with the appropriate expectations.
Derelicts (2017) is a Thanksgiving movie I recently watched on Tubi. The storyline follows a family that has some "family dynamic" problems that are about to get a lot worse. Just as they sit down for Thanksgiving dinner a group of people bust into their home and start torturing and interrogating them. What evil deeds and misfortunes can they get the family to admit to under the circumstances?
This movie is directed by Brett Glassberg (ABC's of Death 2 1/2) in his directorial debut and stars Kelly Dealyn (12 Mighty Orphans), David Lee Hess (Fear the Walking Dead), Lana Dieterich (Teeth) and Les Best (Like Arrows).
This movie had a lot of potential with some good characters and circumstances. The movie starts off hilarious with old people having sex and establishing the family dynamic well. The villains are menacing and honestly well executed by the cast...and then the rape and kill scenes fall short and are poorly executed.
This is one of those films where the premise, characters and cast is there for a worthwhile film, but a lack of budget and imagination for special effects causes the film to fall short. I'd score this a 3.5/10 and only recommend watching it with the appropriate expectations.
