When Alex takes Cole onto the dance floor at the country bar, they two-step in the wrong direction (clockwise around the line dancers). The direction of travel (Line-of-Dance) in all progressive dances is counterclockwise. They would have been promptly corrected by other dancers--instead of winning the so-called "dance contest".
When they're in country bar and doing two-step dancing, Alex mentions that she learned how to country dance while in college when Hannah Montana's Hoedown Throwdown was all the rage. The song was actually released by Miley Cyrus as herself and not her Hannah Montana persona.
