It’s been over 30 years since O.J. Simpson was acquitted on murder charges in connection with the deaths of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.

But interest in the trial of the century remains high, even after Simpson’s death last year at the age of 76.

Now, a new Netflix documentary titled American Manhunt: O.J. Simpson is shedding new light on the trial and its highly controversial verdict.

The doc features testimony from two individuals who claim to have seen Simpson on the night of the murders.

But neither party was called to testify during the trial.

An eight-hour drama inspired by Carolyn Arnold’s “Madison Knight” detective novels is being developed by Muse Entertainment and Pop Fiction Entertainment.

Hélène Joy will star as Madison Knight, a daring detective who works to investigate criminals throughout the series. Orion Lee (“First Cow”) will portray Knight’s work partner, Detective Steven Hung. The action-packed crime drama is set on both the Pacific coastline of Sydney, Australia and the wilderness of British Columbia, Canada.

“As I read the books, I was immediately taken with Madison as a leading female character. She is unapologetic, unpredictable and deeply flawed. An extremely reluctant heroine if you will. What I love most is her sardonic nature and deeply sarcastic sense of humor. She doesn’t suffer fools and has little time for small talk,” said Joy, on her new role of Knight, in a statement.

Australian writer Justin Monjo and Canadian writer Lynn Coady are developing the series.

After focusing on The Exorcist, Poltergeist, The Omen, The Crow, and Twilight Zone: The Movie in its first season, Cursed Films will spotlight a different set of yet-to-be-revealed films in 2021, as Shudder has renewed the documentary series for a second season:

Exclusive: Canadian film and TV production company Brightlight Pictures, whose credits include the ABC series The Good Doctor and the Joseph Gordon-Levitt/Seth Rogen film 50/50, has promoted Arielle Boisvert to VP Production.

Boisvert has been at the company for the past six years, most recently as director of production. He now will be responsible for supervising the planning, coordination, and execution of TV and film projects, working with external studio partners and creative teams.

“Arielle’s ability to balance the production and creative aspects of both film and television projects makes her the perfect fit for the role of VP of Production at Brightlight Pictures,” said Brightlight president Shawn Williamson. “I am confident she will excel in this new position and look forward to seeing how her talent, leadership and creativity shine through in all her upcoming projects.”

NBCUniversal International Networks has acquired crime drama “The Murders” across multiple European markets as well as for Africa, it announced Monday. The police procedural, which stars Jessica Lucas (pictured) will air from mid-2019 on Universal TV in the U.K. and Africa, and on 13thStreet in France, Germany, Spain, and Poland.

Created by Damon Vignale, the eight-part series follows a determined but fallible rookie homicide detective (Lucas) in Vancouver. After a fatal error on the job which costs the life of a fellow officer, she is driven to rectify her mistake and measure up to her late father, a highly decorated detective killed in the line of duty, searching for redemption in her investigations.
