Don't watch this movie if the following are dealbreakers:
It's a found footage/mockumentary.
It's not scary.
It's an indie meta art piece more than a fun gratuitous genre flick.
All that said, it's well made and definitely worth a watch if you're searching for a bearable found footage movie.

I really enjoyed this creepy little low-budget thriller. I happen to enjoy FF movies, which I am sure, made a difference for me. To me it was super creepy. Decent acting- not terrible. I don't write many reviews but for something this small and low budget, combined with the fact I enjoyed it, I felt it deserves a review.
Death of a Vlogger starts out so casually, so plain you just can't expect much from it. It seems like the most natural movie there could be about internet found footage and yet it manages to achieve quite a lot.
Perhaps the tactic was that the first half of the movie be presented as bland as possible in order to lower people's expectations and then hit them hard and take them by surprise. Because this is certainly what happened to me and what a pleasant surprise that turned out to be. It actually becomes a good mystery production, one that delivers and interestingly enough it still leaves some unanswered questions. For some.
This is a great example of how to make a solid movie with a very small budget, where everything falls right in place and it makes for this gorgeous final picture. It gives hope for both found footage and internet movie genres. Nicely done mates, looking forward for more of your future work.
Cheers!

Let me start by saying the other 10/10 review is 100% fake and the reviewer was either involved with the production or was paid to write it, that being said it kept my attention and I watched all the way to the end, a few nice jump scares and the acting was not that bad neither was it that good but I've seen worse, if you have nothing better to watch and have an hour and half to spare give it a go

Creepy while entertaining and likable. Great job - if the people behind this make anything else, I'll definitely check it out.
Serviceable film in found footage style. Nothing new, decently acted. Tries to be tense but that doesn't happen. More interesting as a psychological study but incomplete in that. Watchable.

This starts really well, it's effective and creepy but then completely loses it. It's found footage but we get some of the most unnatural acting, it's almost as if people are reading straight from the script at points. Everything becomes way too obvious in the end, just the way shots are set up to leave a gap where you know something is going to appear. There's also a point where what's ever haunting this guy runs at him and they are wearing the most obvious wig.
This does so much of what we've already seen before and borrows from a lot of other films. I really wish it had just stuck to how the opening was and didn't turn into what it did. It had potential but ruined it with the things it did, especially it's abrupt ending where it felt like they didn't know how to end this so just rushed wrote an ending.

Strong addition to the found footage library and an interesting underlying theme that I've not seen done before. Some very cool effects and chilling moments and it was genuinely funny at times. It keeps you guessing and 2nd guessing as it shows you the untrustworthy world of internet fame and what it takes to pursue it.

Didn't do it for me. The haunting scenes were amateurish and the acting terrible. Could have done without the influencer with the mid American accent. I knew I should have turned it off after 10 mins but I gave it the benifit of the doubt. Foolish me.

First turn off was the title, as there are so many channels and wannabe celebrities online, who to follow becomes overwhelming. But I started watching and thought the acting was bad until I realized that if it felt amateurish, then it was well acted! As the film progresses and the host needs to project emotions across his vlog and into the actual film audience, you realize his amateur acting was, well, an act. If you are left wondering at the end, what the film was supposed to be, then the makers made a good film.
Is it real world "reality" or made up? What is reality? Can you trust your eyes anymore? Fake, real, ethics, honor, honesty, entertainment, real world or internet cruelty, addiction, moral dilemmas, psychological trauma? It is all there. One of those movies that I am glad I got past the title and ambiguous synopsis.

Some good moments and a lot of hmmm.... wasn't bad, i managed to watch it all the way through, but it left me asking what was it, a couple of predictable make you jump moments doesn't make a horror so what was this? watch it make up your own mind but not a film i'd recommend to anyone i like.

Not sure what to believe anymore. Are these reviews that five over a 5 for real? They either are your have very low standards.
Boring. Amateur acting. It's almost like the camera person knows exactly what's going to happen. Weird. And if the characters aren't acting very afraid, why should I?
Nothing makes this movie stand out from the rest of the mediocre-at-best ff out there. Pass on this one unless you've run out of material.

I don't know what I expected this movie to be, but whatever I thought, this was not it. It's not really scar, but it did have a few solid laughs. Overall the movie is interesting in how it deals with our ever growing relationship with social media and kept me engaged the entire time. I still can't tell if the movie is silly for all it's twists or brilliant. Either way, totally worth a watch.

It's a low budget Lake Mungo rip-off, but I didn't hate it. The acting was fine, there were some occasional creepy moments, and it was only 90mins. If you like mockumentary style horror, then it's worth giving a try. If your expectations are low enough, you might come away enjoying it more than I did.

It's hard to remember the last time I saw a found footage film that was as all over the place as this one. That's not necessarily a bad thing, it was just kind of trying to do a lot in 90 minutes and it was hard to settle into a rhythm.
The acting is a little dusty, as we've come to expect in this sub-genre. When the film is trying to be funny though there are some genuine laughs. And when it is trying to be scary there are a couple of properly unnerving moments.
The ending to these types of films is always very important. It's what everything builds towards and it is often what sticks most in the audience's mind. The ending here was okay, but I thought it could've been done a little better. A solid, if forgettable, little found footage film. 6/10.

Better than most found footages of this genre, at least show some talent.
A little below 5 because of some really non realistic choices (absurd) for a movie that thinks it is very realistic. For instance, making a live suicide in youtube or the actors seeing a live ghost and acting very non challant about it. A little more expression of disbliev etc would all help a lot.
Like with most found footage a little more money, action, a few passages of the script, that coud help.
But mostly is not boring, but there are few scares, not very realistic and the focus is more on the problematic of truth.

I really enjoyed this movie. Some genuinely creepy moments, some excellent storytelling and enough twists and turns to keep you interested all the way through. I will personally sit through any found footage horror movie, no matter what. That being said, this was one of the most effective FF films I've seen in a while. The documentary wrapper kept the story moving, and the reveals throughout were great. Excellent acting, excellent writing, excellent execution. Check it out!
I am a fan of the whole point of view movies were the whole movie is recorded either with a hand camera or through a webcam. So I had high hopes for this.
My hopes were soon dashes as this is terrible.... its very very amateurish and even if kids had made it themselves it still would be bad. It was not scary at all and was just silly.... I actually turned it off after I could not bare to watch any more so do yourselves a favour and give this a miss.
If you want to watch this type of movie try The Host its much better

Just dont bother if you are looking for a serious FF film. Just ridiculous. The actors can barely contain laughter as they deliver lines. What a waste of 30 min. All i could stand.

Very funny - without trying to be,
very amateurish - without trying to be,
very sad - without trying to be...
think of anything and everything associated with making a professional film this is the exact opposite !

I have watched so many horror movies but this movie is so terrible and uninteresting that I couldn't even finish it, which is saying a lot because I have seen some bad movies.. There is not one ounce of creativity in the entire 45 minutes I was able to sit through. I really have nothing else to say, just terrible. Sorry guys, maybe next time you decide you want to try your hand in movie making maybe actually do something you can at least fake an interest in. Don't waste your time on this worthless, terrible excuse for a movie.

The reviews about this being better than the bad reviews must be from folks who have never seen a horror movie.
This movie was terrible from start to finish. The people being "interviewed" are better actors than the main characters. Every single scare in the movie is cheaply done, generic, and boring. It's your typical Grudge-esque "ghost" (aka some chick in a party city wig and night gown) ambling around like a gorilla. 🤣 Cheap black wig and a white gown.
There's a point where the main character is having a mental breakdown, and he films in front of a wall that he wrote all of the hate comments he received on. Kind of like a teenage girl trying to do an anti-bullying campaign. It's just super cheap and cheesy.
In the words of Tyra Banks, "It was so bad, I want to give you a 0. But I'm not allowed to do that, so I give it a 1"
