Exclusive: Ethan Cutkosky (Shameless) and Nikki Roumel (Ginny & Georgia) are among cast joining coming-out feature film, Our Family Pride, from filmmakers Glen Evelyn and Dominic Giannetti.

Based on Evelyn’s real-life events, Our Family Pride tells the personal journey of a family that comes together through conflict and difficult times, amid finding out their father, Jaimie (Evelyn), is gay later in life.

Cutkosky will play Tim, a high-school bad boy who flirts with Jaimie’s daughter, and Roumel emerges as her popular best friend, Bri.

As we previously announced Garrett Clayton, Chad Ridgely, William Mark McCullough, Rachel Alig, and Evelyn star in the pic currently shooting in Florida.

The owners of Geek Girl co-producer Aircraft Pictures have bought back their shares from troubled Canadian media outfit Corus Entertainment.

For an undisclosed fee, Anthony Leo and Andrew Rosen have returned themselves via binding agreement as sole shareholders of the company, coming more than two years after Corus took a majority stake.

Aircraft is an Oscar and Emmy-nominated film and TV-maker with credits including animated movie The Breadwinner, which was EP’d by Angelina Jolie, Apple TV+’s Circuit Breakers and long-running Canadian series Holly Hobbie.

The 20-year-old company most recently co-produced Netflix and Corus’ StackTV’s Geek Girl adaptation with Nelvana and RubyRock. The series has rocketed into Netflix top-10s around the world.

Exclusive: Doctor Who director Jamie Magnus Stone is helming a sci-fi series adaptation of Brian W. Aldiss’ debut Non-Stop for Aircraft Pictures.

Set in a distant future, Non-Stop tells the tale of Roy Complain, a man born into a primitive society only to discover his tribe is one of many aboard a colossal spaceship. This knowledge sets Complain and his band of intrepid explorers on a perilous journey through uncharted territories to find the ship’s bridge, as they unravel the mysteries of their new world and confront the looming threat of their own annihilation.

Casting is yet to be announced and Aircraft will begin shopping the project at Series Mania next week.

Paramount+ and Nickelodeon Studios announced Friday additional cast members for “Good Burger 2,” the long-awaited sequel to the 90’s film starring Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell. Lil Rey Howery, Jillian Bell and more will appear in the film alongside Thompson and co-star Kel Mitchell, with the sequel set to air on Paramount+ later this year.

In addition to Howery and Bell, new additions announced for the film include Kamaia Fairburn ​​Alex R. Hibbert, Fabrizio Guido, Elizabeth Hinkler and Anabel Graetz.

The film is a sequel to the 1997 Brian Robbins-directed comedy, which was based on the recurring sketch on the Nickelodeon series “All That.” The first film centered around Ed (Mitchell) and Dexter Reed (Thompson) as they try to save the old burger joint at which they both work.

The sequel will see the two reunite in the present day. The new film’s description reads:

Exclusive: Chris Diamantopoulos, who starred in HBO’s Silicon Valley and is currently on Peacock’s Mrs. Davis, has co-created and is set to star in a new family comedy series that is being taken out to market.

Diamantopoulos has teamed up with Aircraft Pictures and Untitled Entertainment, which also reps him, for half-hour series Mapletown. The producers have set the project up in Canada and are preparing to shop for a U.S. partner.

Set on a small Canadian island, the series follows the brilliant teenage mayor who, after being elected to run her hometown of Mapletown, asks her opponent, the smart middle-aged Detwile (Diamantopoulous) to be her Chief of Staff.

Described as Malcolm in the Middle meets Northern Exposure, it will capture the tension between old-school islanders and brand-new transplants who come to need one another against all odds.

Jansen Panettiere, brother to actress Hayden Panettiere and an actor on series like The Walking Dead and Everybody Hates Chris, has died. He was 28.

Kasey Kitchen, a rep for Jansen’s sister Hayden, confirmed his death to The Hollywood Reporter. The cause of death is unknown and no other details were provided.

Born Sept. 25, 1994, in Palisades, New York, the actor started to make his way into Hollywood in the early 2000s with appearances on popular shows such as Even Stevens, Hope & Faith, Blue’s Clues and Third Watch.

In 2005, he and his sister teamed up for the Disney Channel movie Tiger Cruise, where he plays Joey. The film follows a naval carrier with families on board to join their seafaring relatives on a “tiger cruise.” But the ship is ordered into combat mode after word spreads about the World Trade Center attacks.

Aircraft Pictures is teaming up with Dolphin Entertainment to produce a new feature adaptation of the 1986 sports drama, Youngblood, with rising filmmaker Charles Officer (Akilla’s Escape) on board to direct. The film is slated to begin principal photography in early 2023.

Youngblood follows hockey prodigy Dean Youngblood, who joins the Hamilton Bulldogs and discovers he must face off against toxic behavior on the ice and within himself, to fulfill his dream of being drafted into the National Hockey League. The original film, distributed by MGM, starred Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves in his feature debut, and has since become a cult classic among hockey fans.

Josh Epstein & Kyle Rideout, Seneca Aaron and Officer penned the script for the new film, which will be distributed in Canada by Photon Films — being made with the financial participation of Telefilm Canada and the Talent Fund, as well as Ontario Creates and the Shaw Rocket Fund.

Chaudry will star as series regular Hannah, Nora’s (Lilly Singh) younger and arguably more accomplished sister. Starz is expanding the Fraser family in “Outlander” Season 7 with the addition of Jamie Fraser’s son, William Ranson.

On Thursday, the cable network announced Canadian actor Charles Vandervaart will take on the role of Jamie’s (Sam Heughan) secret son, who was raised by Lord John Grey (David Berry). His mother is Geneva Dunsany, whose estate Jamie worked on as part of his continuing sentence following his role in the Scottish uprising. William does not know that Jamie is his father, though he did meet Jamie when he was a child.

Canadian media giant Corus Entertainment has made a rare production investment, buying a majority stake in “The Breadwinner” and “Raising Expectations” producer Aircraft Pictures.

Founded in 2005 by Canadian producers Anthony Leo and Andrew Rosen, Aircraft was Oscar-nominated for 2017 animated feature “The Breadwinner,” about an 11-year-old girl living under Taliban rule in Afghanistan in 2001. However, it seems to be the company’s live-action capabilities that have been the primary draw for Corus, which has a well-established kids’ content portfolio of its own.

Aircraft is known for both animated and live-action scripted TV shows and movies for kids, families and young adults. Its slate includes Hulu original “Holly Hobbie”; the “Bruno & Boots” movie adaptations; and the comedy “Raising Expectations,” starring Jason Priestley and Molly Ringwald. Leo describes the deal as “two puzzle pieces coming together perfectly” for both companies.

Starring Mackenzie Davis and Himesh Patel, the 10-episode limited drama series, based on the international bestseller by Emily St. John Mandel, comes from Maniac creator Patrick Somerville and Paramount TV Studios.

Written and executive produced by Somerville, Station Eleven is a post-apocalyptic saga spanning multiple timelines. It tells the stories of survivors of a devastating flu as they attempt to rebuild and reimagine the world anew while holding on to the best of what’s been lost.

Kurt Wimmer’s reimagining of “Children of the Corn” has completed its coronavirus-defying shoot in Australia. The filmmakers employed stringent health and safety protocols, and multiple insurance policies.

The producers revealed the previously undisclosed cast of young actors, with Elena Kampouris (“Before I Fall”) and Kate Moyer (“When Hope Calls”) starring. They are accompanied by Australian talent Callan Mulvey (“Avengers: Endgame”) and Bruce Spence (“The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King”).

“You can theorize all you like about safety protocols, but until you get on set, you don’t really know. But I can now tell you it is impossible to keep a camera crew 1.5 meters apart,” producer Lucas Foster (“Ford v Ferrari”) told Variety.

Principal photography began in New South Wales in early March, when the Covid-19 outbreak forced the majority of productions around the world to shut down.

Holly Hobbie is coming to Universal Kids! The network announced that the series will make its debut on the network on December 5. The series originally aired on Hulu. The character was created by writer Holly Hobbie., and Ruby Jay stars on the television series as Holly.

As the rest of the world says goodbye to Halloween, Hulu seems to still be in the thick of the spooky season, adding some thrilling titles to its library in November, like “Freddy Vs. “Hot Bench” has given us an exclusive sneak peek at its 1000th episode airing in syndication April 1. A clip from the upcoming episode shows millennial roommates battling it out in the courtroom over relationship issues, rental payments, and alleged domestic abuse. While the daytime series, which comes from the producers of “Judge Judy” is similar in format to other court shows, it has a unique three-judge panel and allows viewers to see deliberations within the chambers.

President and CEO of Canada’s Shaw Rocket Fund Agnes Augustin will speak about funding children’s content at Screen Producers Australia’s Screen Forever Conference.

The Shaw Rocket Fund has financed projects such as Holly Hobbie (Aircraft Pictures / Cloudco Entertainment), a live-action show commissioned by Hulu, Family Channel and Universal Kids, in addition to The Breadwinner (Aircraft Pictures), Emerald Code (Shaftesbury Entertainment) and The Next Step (Boat Rocker Media).
