At time of writing The Gown has only 18 ratings on IMDB and zero reviews, this is obscure stuff and quite frankly it's best for everyone if it stays that way.
I should have seen this coming based on the cover art alone, it's not that it's amateurish it's that it's embarrassingly cringe inducingly amateurish but I gave it a chance regardless.
Immediately it became apparent that this was a zero budget movie and that's fine, I don't care about budget provided they don't overstretch and to the films credit they don't. That's literally all I can say to this movies "Credit".
It tells the story of a bridezilla type preparing for her forthcoming nuptials and finding herself in possession of a cursed wedding dress. Yep, that's actually the plot.
Okay so they didn't have much to work with here, but they made the best of it surely? Well no, what you have here is a 99 minute amateur hour with a wafer thin plot, terrible cinematography, weak acting and honestly absolutely no redeeming features.
I don't give movies a 1/10 very often, they're really really rare as it suggests a movie has literally nothing going for it at all. Sadly The Gown doesn't, it's pitiful and cringe worthy on every conceivable front.
This is the movie equivalent of a dentist appointment, avoid.
The Good:
Jaimie Tucker
The Bad:
Awful cover art
Stock scream
Absolute amateur hour
Pointless black and white moments.
