Throughout the series Anna is seen using an iPhone 8 Plus, however this is not possible because it wasn't released until late 2017.
The graphic artists who created the show's fictionalized versions of computer-based images made multiple mistakes visible in nearly every episode. To cite some examples: the Instagram account cataloguing Anna's courtroom attire is shown growing from a few hundred followers to over 350,000 during the course of her monthlong trial; its real-life counterpart had 3,800 followers total at its end, according to The New York Times. A graphic of a Vanity Fair cover includes the misspelled name of former Trump adviser "Kellyann Conway"; the correct spelling, as shown on the real-life VF cover, is "Kellyanne." The pop-up notification on Rachel's phone shown after Anna sends her $5,000 as partial repayment for their Morocco trip indicates that the sender is using a "G-Mail" account; in reality, "Gmail" has no dash and a lowercase "m." The Instagram timestamps from Anna's Malibu trip suggest that it takes place in August 2017, despite Anna stating in an earlier scene that it's autumn.
The first half of the series is based on events that take place between 2013 and 2016. Throughout all of them, Anna is shown using the same iPhone 8, which wasn't launched until late 2017.
A Google Maps animated graphic appears to "follow" the track of one of Anna's bad checks from a Lower Manhattan bank branch to one located in Harlem, based on real-life events in summer 2017. The map, however, was derived from what Google Maps showed on it from mid-2021, including multiple streets that were permanently closed off to vehicular traffic during the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, as well as a "temporarily closed" Lincoln Center.
