Pannu also has a raft of films coming up, including Sony Pictures’ official remake of “Run Lola Run” (“Looop Lapeta”), cricket biopic “Shabaash Mithu,” sports drama “Rashmi Rocket,” Netflix thriller “Haseen Dillruba” and comedy “Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan?”
Pannu began her career in South Indian cinema, debuting with Telugu-language “Jhummandi Naadam” in 2010, followed by Tamil-language “Aadukalam” (2011), which won a clutch of accolades at India’s national film awards. Even after breaking through into the Hindi-language Bollywood film industry, Pannu continues to act in South Indian films.
Early on in her career, Pannu made the bold (for India) choice of not being an ornamental foil to the leading man, instead switching to powerful, women-centric roles.

Mumbai, Feb 27 (Ians) A highlight of Tahir Raj Bhasin's filming of the upcoming Looop Lapeta, co-starring Taapsee Pannu was the most romantic stunt he has ever shot for in his career yet.
"A lot of the romantic portions of the film were shot in Goa, including a scene where we kissed while being suspended 10 feet up in the air using cables! It was a romantic stunt. Our off days were spent on the beach close to our locations in old Goa, exploring the amazing sea food and bonding with the crew," he said.
"The Goa schedule was incredible, just being away from the city where we had all been under lockdown through most of last year was a massive relief.
He found it effortless to work with Taapsee.
"Taapsee is very committed to the script and since carving out the romance of (their characters) Satya and Savi is such...

Mumbai, Feb 26: Bollywood filmmakers never miss a chance to sensationalize, to grab a few extra eyeballs. This year, makers seem to have hit the idea of quirky titles. Liger to Looop Lapeta, Pagglait to Bell Bottom, and Gangubai Kathiawadi to Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi, names of films really take an unusual turn this year.
Quirky titles bordering on being tongue-twisters, of course are not new to Bollywood. In the past, the industry made Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, Badhti Ka Naam Dadhi, Jal Bin Machhli Nritya Bin Bijli, Allah Meherban Toh Gadha Pahelwan and Dhoti Lota Aur Chowpatty.
Here are some recent titles that render the films in question a dash of added audience interest.
Liger
Imagine a cross breed between a Lion and Tiger! That's Vijay Deverakonda for you - at least in spirit, going by the title of his next film. The poster and title created a frenzy on social media upon launch.

Mumbai, Feb 20: Tahir Raj Bhasin joins the Bollywood six-pack club with his role in the upcoming film, Looop Lapeta. He will be seen flaunting a hunky frame as a romantic hero opposite Taapsee Pannu, and he says the challenge to get a six-pack was all about commitment and consistency.
"The body type has everything to do with my character Satya's background. He has to be the guy you'll notice if he walks into the room. A lot of his character traits - like laid back irreverence and wit - lie in the performance and script, but there's a lot in the physical structure that needs to supplement this," Tahir said.
He added, "We filmed in Goa and Satya spends time in the outdoors, so we knew his physicality had to be portrayed. That's why, what you see at first glance is the quintessential romantic hero."
Talking about his training regime,...
