A surprise wild card race allows the five previously eliminated drivers to compete for a redemption spot in the knockouts. The now eight racers compete for the top six spots to qualify for semifinals; where the last two racers fight for the last spot.
In qualifier round 2 of the hyperdrive competition, six drivers from round 1 race agains six newcomers to decide who will advance to the final, who moves on to qualifier round 3, and who is eliminated.
Qualifier round 3 matches up the six drivers who moved on from round 2 with six newcomers. Drivers put down their best time on the course to determine who will move on to the knockout rounds, who has face off again in qualifier round 4 and who is eliminated.
The first knockout round pits the qualifying 12 drivers against each other to compete for the top nine spots. The final finisher is automatically eliminated, and the next bottom two face off in a head-to-head.
In the first qualifying round of the hyperdrive championship, 12 drivers compete in a four step obstacle course. The top three move onto the knockouts, the middle six move onto the next qualifying round, and the final three are eliminated.
