Gilles Legrand and the producer Frédéric Brillion went to see a play by Leonore Confino, "The Belgian Fish", because they appreciate the writing of this author. The two men then wanted to propose to him to write a scenario on the social or humanitarian engagement, in which often evolve people full of good will, but with little or no training and often few means.
Gilles Legrand did not want to realize a social drama. So that the spectator can laugh at the situations depicted in the Good intentions scenario, it was necessary to play with the clichés and make the characters endearing.
As Isabelle's character is in constant motion, Gilles Legrand opted for a very mobile camera.
Agnès Jaoui played the role of a mother in Leonore Confino's play "Les Uns sur les autres".
Tim Seyfi, who plays Isabelle's husband, is a Turkish actor, who lives in Germany, in Munich. He has studied interpreting and speaks several languages, including French.
