Lotta, a woman in her twenties, wants to be an actress but hasn't really matured yet. When her father threatens to stop his financial support for her, she starts an internship in a retirement home.

Lotto finished her training as a nurse for the elderly. Not only is Haus Abendroth, where she wants to start working, about to get closed, she also suspects that she might be pregnant.

Lotta wants to study medicine which is not an easy task, being a single mother and having a baby daughter. She has to learn to cooperate with other people in order to fulfill her desire.

Lotta's friend David returns from India and they move in together. While David soon gets a good job, Lotta questions the decision and their relationship.

Lotta returns to her hometown to work as a doctor in the local hospital only to learn that you are not respected as a very young physician. But this is not the biggest problem, because of her seriously ill father, the family business is threatened by insolvency. So Lotta takes over.

Lotta, a young physician, has taken on a job in a clinic in the Kreuzberg district of Berlin. Her little daughter Lilo is not very pleased about having to move. While Lotta makes friends with a Moroccan restaurant owner, it turns out that both their children share the common fate of being outsiders in school.

Lotta's life is out of control. With a daughter and a job as a doctor, she has no time for anything else, much less fun. Finally, a new job offer changes everything.

Lotta and her daughter Lilo ,who live in Berlin, return to the home village Schwielow on holiday.From the bus station they walk through the fields,Lilo walks on a thorn and so Lotta goes to the doctor's office to take off the thorn.There Mrs Bergmann explains her that the female doctor went away and now they are without doctor.Outside there is an advertising board and Lilo notices that her grandfather Meinholf wants to sell the house of the family.Lotta and Lilo arrive at the house: there are people waiting outside to visit the house.Lotta is quite angry and enters in the house, where she meets her father Meinholf with his new girlfriend Maren.Her father tries to explain Lotta that he wants to sell the house and to travel to Thailand with Maren.Then Lotta meets her brother Sebastian who is telling her that he doesn't care for his house and that their father can do all what he wants with the house.
