An eight-part crime drama based on true events, “Poacher,” which bowed at Sundance 2023, uncovers the largest ivory poaching ring in Indian history. It is produced by QC Entertainment, the Oscar-winning production and finance company known for Jordan Peele’s “Get Out” and Spike Lee’s “BlacKkKlansman.” Nimisha Sajayan, Roshan Mathew and Dibyendu Bhattacharya lead the cast.

Directed by Aanand, ‘Atrangi Re’ revolves around the story of a girl named Rinku (Sara) who is in love with a magician named Sajjad (Akshay). Dhanush plays the character of Dr Vishu, with whom Rinku gets forcefully married.

A Hindu-Muslim social drama, “Raanjhaana” was the Hindi debut of Tamil star Dhanush. It is now coming back again — not with a similar story, but with a “similar heartbeat”, as Rai put it in an interview with ‘Variety’ — in “Tere Ishk Mein.”

Though he has kept most of the plot details under wraps, Rai told ‘Variety’: “When we were working on the ‘Tere Ishk Mein’ script, we realised that we are catching on to the same aggression. The ‘Atrangi Re’ actress, while answering a question asked by her fan on portraying her grandmother in her biopic, said that it is not easy to match her grace while portraying her in a biopic.

“She’s so graceful. I don’t know if I’m graceful,” replied Sara.

Tagore is known for her remarkable performances in movies such as Shakti Samanta’s 1964 hit ‘Kashmir Ki Kali’, her chemistry with Rajesh Khanna was also liked by the audience in the films like ‘Aradhana’, ‘Safar’, ‘Amar Prem’ and others.

India’s Super Cassettes Industries, operating under the label T-Series, has revealed plans for a 100-film slate across various Indian languages.

The company was founded by the late Gulshan Kumar in 1983 as a music business. He soon grew it into India’s biggest music label. Bhushan Kumar took over as chair and MD of the company in 1997. T-Series has been producing or co-producing films since 1990, but is now poised for a huge push into the space with a range of films featuring A-listers. The company’s latest film, “Jhund,” starring Amitabh Bachchan, is currently on theatrical release.
