Creature of the Mist (2002)
Bad, very bad
Busload of what I assume are tourists breaks down in a deserted area which happens to be next to the woods! Yeah lol One moment we are in the desert, the next "the creature" chases some of the tourists in the woods. Unless the monster has the power to tele-port its victims, the folks behind this turkey sure screwed that up. I'm telling ya, we have scenes in the desert, but every time someone is about to get it, we are magically transported to the woods. Logically it doesn't make sense!
Moving on. Five bodies, a little phony blood, barely seen creature, no suspense, Maria Velez as the girl who shows us her bra twice, Reuben Rox shows us his butt because... uhmmm... it was there and James Maxwell's head explodes (in the only awesome scene, well, that and Velez' bra). Considerably duller, stupider than usual. Skip it.
Deadly Obsession (1988)
Good "co-ed in danger" flick
I bought a VHS copy for 50 cents off some website. After watching hundreds, if not thousands off slasher flicks, I wasn't expecting this to be good at all. I was wrong, it was great. My only complaint, is it would've been better without all of the cop scenes in between the action.
After some psycho injects poison into some ice cream, a college student named Denise eats it and the nightmare begins for her. The psycho never stops spying on her and in the best sequence of this flick, Denise and her roommate Pamela are trapped with the psycho in a big building.
The ending involving Denise and the psycho in some tunnels was pretty good too.
Bosque de muerte (1993)
Decent slasher flick
Three couples in their late twenties/early thirties drive up to a huge property in the Mexican woods. Alejandra Espejo (who sadly died last year), is very good in the lead role. She's very likable. The rest of the cast is OK, although a couple of them are somewhat annoying. I'm not sure if this was made for video, if it was, the production quality is pretty good. The acting wasn't so good from the supporting actors, but it doesn't matter cause the plot moves along nicely. It has an OK body count. A couple are off screen, but we do get to see a beheading, an ax to the head, throat slashing and a severed leg. If it wasn't for the gore and one sex scene (no nudity though), this could be watched by the entire family as it doesn't have any strong language or profanity to speak of.
Cementerio del terror (1985)
Cool!!!
Six medicine students go to a cemetery, soon they decide to steal a body from the morgue, meanwhile a bunch of kids also visit the same cemetery and soon the stolen body is up and killing everyone in gory ways, the female cast is superpretty!!!
