Doctor Odyssey (2024)
Entertaining but a bit "cheesy"
This is definitely The Love Boat meets House series. Caught my attention when I learned Don Johnson was back in a series. I had also just watched an Australian series that featured several of the Fringe actors. Made me wonder what dreamboat Pacie from Dawson's Creek was up to these days. Then just like that he shows up in this new series as the head doctor.
So far there has not been enough of Don Jonson. Hope there will be more of the Captain in the future. Joshua Jackson has the major role so far. Not sure I like him jumping into bed with a cremate so quickly, thou.
Hard to believe all the medical equipment they have available on this one cruise ship, though. I can't get this kind of care in one medical clinic in my state. In just these couple early episodes, they have handled conditions that, perhaps, these passengers should have not been traveling with and should have stayed home..
Outer Banks (2020)
Good Entertainment
I am a Senior Citizen. My granddaughter introduced me to this series on NETFLIX. I originally just thought it would be a "teeny bopper" series and not for someone of my age. I have to say I was totally incorrect. I started watching and could not stop. Now I sit here waiting for November 7 when the 2nd part of this season is back. It is one exciting adventure after another. The actors have so much chemistry. It so takes me back to my younger years and the adventures we would seek out. Nothing as exciting as these but that was really living. Sadly. May kids today never get the chance for anything near as fun.
I do have to agree that it can be pretty farfetched at times and, realistically, one would be unlikely to survive major injuries, if not death, in some of the excursions. However, it is what may of us wish our lives could be just a bit like this. I still feel it is GREAT ENTERTAINMENT.
If there is adventure in your blood, you will enjoy this series.
After (2019)
Couldn't stop watching-binge shows
Looking for something good to watch for an evening, I came across this series or collection as it is sometimes called. The casting is fabulous. I was drawn in by Haden's character immediately. This review actually covers all 5 stories in this collection. I give 10 to all except the 4th movie in this series. That one fell short of storyline.
Overall, it is a very mentally toxic relationship and believe me they usually DO NOT work. She was a VERY strong person, and he was truly ready to work on himself, so they found ways to handle it. The person watching must remember this is a story and for most it means run the other way and run fast. However, some bad boys have a true loving heart hidden. One must be able to know the whole story of where that person comes from. That person must have support from all sides and Harden definitely did. But it truly shows the struggle some confront and what it can take to find a way out or just truly handle it. For me, it was worth watching again.
Pirate Radio (2009)
Fantastic
I loved Sandman and went looking for other movies or shows with Tom Sturbridge in them. Came across this one -- Radio Pirates. Was unaware this great movie even existed until this find. Philip Seymour Hoffman does a fantastic job. If you enjoy the oldies but goodies, you will enjoy this movie and the great music. Be sure to stay through the end credits, too. It will especially touch the heart strings of my generation who lived during the time when Rock 'n Roll almost didn't make it to the airwaves. I had to grab a kleenex to finish out the show.
I can't say enough without giving away something. See it for yourself. Just all-around good entertainment.
White Collar (2009)
Couldn't stop watching
Loved this series. Binged on Netflix. Matt Bomer is yummy. Willie was a great partner. Great writing. All the actors were so well cast. So wish they would bring it back in some way. Sure would like to know what Neal is up to these days. Neal and Peter, Neil and Mozzie -- perfection.
I had watched Suits some time ago and loved it. Wanted to find something similar. Whie Collar was it. I thought the writers were the same but found that not to be true. The stories seem to run paralell.
Suits were attorneys and one young, very smart, wanna-be. White Collar is FBI and one young, very smart, thief.
I don't think you will be disappointed if you sit down to this one.
Almost Paradise: Pistol Whip (2020)
Really good and final film shot could not have been more perfect.
I am such a Christian Kane fan, and really love this series, that I had to give it 10 stars even though this one was a bit weak on the story line. It did have its "pull on the heart strings" moments though. I don't want to create any spoilers, but I absolutely loved, loved, loved the ending with the pearl handled pistol being delivered to Alex. His reaction is so cool. As Alex is so very good with the facial expressions, he says so much with his expression and then there is the last shot when he takes the jump and whips the pistol. That cinematography was absolutely perfect. Could not have been a more perfect ending.
Suits (2011)
Absolutely love this series. Binge watch favorite.
Title kept me away for the longest time. Never watched on television. After searching for something interesting to watch these days during strike, I came across this series. I am so very glad I took the chance. It is an amazing show. So well written. Has it all. People you love, people you hate, and people you love to hate--namely. Louis Litt. It is a roller coaster of events. It also gives the watcher a great insight to what goes on in corporate law. You will scratch your head at some of the antics, fill your eyes with tears in others. Keeps you on pins and needles for the long run outcome. The huge DISAPPOITMENT comes when you can only get 8 seasons on Netflix. Then you have to jump to another streaming network. If you are lucky enough to be a subscriber to that one -- you are in luck. I am not that lucky. Someday I will get to see the final outcome in Season 9.
Almost Paradise: Something Walker This Way Comes (2020)
Touches the heart
Most of television and even streaming is the pits these days. If you are looking for a show that will entertain and touch your heart, this is it. Can't say enough about all the episodes for Almost Paradise but this one will really draw you in. True for all of this series is the great writing and great acting with so much chemistry between the very likable characters/actors. Action plus warmth--can't ask for more. It will definitely make you ask for more. Many of the pieces come together in this particular episode.
I am not a person who watches most shows more than once but this entire series is so good that I have watched it several times and use it to fill my low spots -- always gives me a chuckle and lifts my spirits.
Almost Paradise (2020)
This show is a diamond in the rough--deserves more exposure.
We so need more shows like this. Good actors, good story lines, fewer guns, less AI used, teamwork pays off, with humor and sensitivity thrown in. There is just too much mutilation, horror, special effects, and hatred in today's Streaming and TV. This show is all around good entertainment. Can't get rid of the bad guys but they find better ways to solve the problem. And Christian Kane and Arthur Acuña having fighting skills that need to be seen.
Dean Devlin has found a way to keep Christian Kane at his finest. If you have seen him in Librarian and Leverage, you will continue to enjoy his presence here. He takes lead role which is well deserved for Christian's many talents.
