Fool Me Once (2024)
End of penultimate episode made me want to rip the TV off the wall in rage
"The it was me" moment at the end of the penultimate episode totally ruined the entire plot. What an absolutely disappointing and lazy story. So many loose ends that wasn't tied up, such as why the last will and testament was postponed, a weak explanation to why the nanny/partner bothered to photoshop the nannycam video. Dreadful ending to an alright show. Would have been much better to have had someone else as the killer or if he was infact still alive.
I was so angry at the "it was me" moment, I get like just ripping the tele off the wall. I reluctantly watched the last episode as I'd already wasted my time to watch it up to that point.
Some of the acting in the show was also pretty poor. The partner of Maya's sister and her niece and nephew were among the poor acting as well as her friends and the football coach. Overall, a really promising and gripping storyline that was totally decimated tragically near the end of the show.
I would avoid watching if you don't want your time to be wasted.
The Killer (2023)
Same old boring regurgitation
Absolutely dreadful. Nothing new or fresh about this. Think back through cinematography on movies like this as far as you can think, you'll find it all here.
Same old grudge/vengeance hired assassin nonsense with the same old outcomes. You could be forgiven for thinking differently in the opening section of the movie, whereby, suspense is used along side an opening gambit of commentary by the killer.
Unfortunately, the killers commentary is pretty cliche. I dragged myself through this movie, wanting to turn it off about 3 or 4 times before committing to it. Time which I will, sadly, never get back again.
The Full Monty (2023)
Not worth it
A very weak storyline. Felt like it was almost going out of the way to target a young audience and forcibly being inclusive rather than natural and fluent. (Korean billionaire working and living in a cafe???) awful, awful sub plot. The episode that was basically useless and unnecessary was the one with the asylum seeker. I don't really understand what this had to do with anything???
Overall very disappointing and overly far fetched rather than natural and flowing. Really cringy in parts and fails to do the original movie any justice. I found some episodes almost impossible to sit through but stayed with it and enjoyed brief glimmers of that the film could have been.
After Life: Episode #3.1 (2022)
Over baked
Over baked and same-y. Sorry line went round in circles. Not many genuine moments of humerus material. Played on too many of the same old tricks in the final season. Whilst I admit that Tony's grief would be very difficult to overcome, in the context of a series, it plays on his situation too much and was much a repeat of the previous seasons. A lot of montages and long drawn out and unnecessary scenes.
