Other songs remind them of their courtship, their marriage, their desire to have a child, and the joys and sorrows they shared. A wave of memories comes to mind as they reflect on their current problems and how they came about.

To achieve this, he will have to hide his true identity and not just pretend to be an honest man, but lead the fight against the corrupt sheriff. Nobody in town realizes that the anti-corruption hero is himself a bigger crook. And there's only one person who is stronger than Johnson: a girl he's in love with.
Mr. & Mrs. Smith (1941)

Sophisticated New Yorkers David Smith and Ann Smith née Krausheimer have been lovingly and passionately married for three years, or so they believed. They are individually told that due to a technicality - an unresolved municipal and state jurisdiction issue at the time of their alleged marriage - their marriage was not legal, and as such they are not really married. Although David said earlier in the day that if he had to make his life all over again he wouldn't marry her (even though he loves her), it is Ann who decides not to marry David this second time due to an action. , or actually inaction, by David in reaction to the news of the nullity of their marriage. While Ann lives her life as a supposedly single woman (which includes being called Ann Krausheimer), David does everything he can to win Ann back. But winning Ann's hand can be difficult as part of Ann's new life is dating other men. One of those other men and the most serious is David's best friend and business partner, Jefferson Custer. Ann and Jeff's relationship quickly gets to the point where Jeff introduces her to his visiting parents, with whom Ann and Jeff are going on a ski vacation to Lake Placid. David hopes to use that vacation to win Ann back.
Meet John Doe (1941)

As a farewell shot, fired reporter Ann Mitchell prints a fake letter from the unemployed "John Doe" who threatens suicide in protest against social ills. The newspaper is forced to rehire Ann and hires John Willoughby to impersonate "Doe". Ann and her bosses cynically milked history for all its worth, until the invented philosophy of "John Doe" starts an entire political movement. Finally, everyone, even Ann, takes her creation seriously...but publisher D. B. Norton has a secret plan.
Suspicion (1941)

Johnny Aisgart is a gambler who seems to live by borrowing money from friends. He meets the shy Lena McLeodlow on the train while trying to get in a first class car with a third class ticket. He starts suing Lena and soon they are married. It was only after the honeymoon that she learned of his true character, and she began to suspect when Johnny's friend and business partner, Bikki, was mysteriously murdered.

A group of reporters are trying to understand the last word "Rosebird" said by the newspaper's billionaire emperor, Charles Foster Kane. The film opens with a newscast describing Kane's life to the public, and then shows us the setbacks in Kane's life. As reporters continue to investigate, viewers see an attractive little man gaining fame and eventually falling into the top of the world.
