I'll Be Home for Christmas (1998)
Next time ...
... someone makes fun of Disney movies made when Walt was alive, remember this crap green-lighted by Eisner. Either an affirmative action project or the director had compromising photos of Michael.
If Taylor-Thomas was paid more than scale then his agent deserves an award. Jessica is a wasted talent with a poorly written character. Gary Cole, the most talented member of the cast, obviously took this role to pad his resume.
The one thing this move proves, is that an entertainment company flush with cash will hand over money to any hack writer if they need content for their cable channel.
Lord, how Eisner, Iger and Chapek ruined everything special about Walt's creation.
:-(
Primary Colors (1998)
Better than Chappaquiddick, but not by much
Before reading this review go watch - BANISHED - The Untold Story of Danney Williams (on youtube)
I saw this film when it first hit theaters and was impressed. Back then suppressing truth wasn't the official state-sponsored national religion. This film is the rarest of pleasures, a Hollywood film willing to take an honest look at the left.
Go watch the movie Chappaquiddick, and ask yourself why did Hollywood wait almost 50 years to tell the truth about the Kennedy clan?
I hope we don't have to wait 50 years for Hollywood to tell the truth about all the damage done by Barry Soetoro and his surrogate third term VP.
Micheal Moore has made over a dozen films telling us the end of the world has arrived. The funny thing is he's right, and he should know because he and his ilk have orchestrated it.
The Hunt (2020)
Good idea ...
... but typical Hollywood execution.
There's a movie called Bulworth starring Warren Beatty as a Senator who has a few things in common with the Kennedy dynasty. Anyway, about half way thru the movie he is meeting with some Hollywood head honchos, and he makes it clear he thinks they can't make good movies. Spoiler alert, that's Warren Beatty's real opinion of Hollywood. Of course he's right, but what he's not smart enough to figure out is that the reason Hollywood sucks, is because everyone in it has too much in common with him.
I want to comment on all the reviews who say, "they did a good job of poking fun at the 2 sides" ... actually, it was a leftist fantasy put on film in a never ending attempt to justify their "final solution" which began in March of 2020. I can promise you the people who made this film believe the world we are currently living in is very close to their version of UTOPIA.
Jonny Quest (1964)
When I was young ...
If 007 and Indiana Jones had a son, he would by JQ.
For a boy growing up in the 60s, JQ was a damn awesome role model. Even though the shows weren't primarily morality tales, they couldn't help but stimulate a boys curiosity and moral compass.
There was something called good guys and bad guys, and there was also something called friendship, and there was definitely something called COURAGE. When you added up all those things you got yourself a world that was a MYSTERY ADVENTURE tailor-made for youngsters with an active imagination and a need to explore what waited for them outside their front door.

2000 Mules (2022)
ONLY 257 reviews?? Does that make sense to you?
Check this site every few days for a few weeks/months. Notice how there is a cap on the number of reviews. Now go look at the rating for this movie at the other popular movie-rating site. Hint: it starts with rotten and ends with "...oes"
100% on the "other" site. The "professionals" didn't even review it. Remember the three main slogans in the book 1984.
"War is peace"
"Freedom is slavery"
"IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH"
Who do you know who subscribes to that last slogan every time they open their mouth??? Yeah, the same people giving this film a bad score here.
When Aliens Attack (2011)
The party balloon defense strategy
First off, the other 2 reviews predate the PENTAGON acknowledging that UAPs (aka UFOs) exist. So as of this writing it is 99% confirmed we are not alone in the Universe.
I have a request of our alien overlords: eat old people first! I have it on good authority from the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy that senior citizens are tasty Hors D'oeuvres. My dining suggestion? Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer, George Bush, John Kerry, John Roberts, Dick Cheney, Bill Barr, Mitt Romney, Murkowski, Collins, Jeff Sessions, Richard Burr, Eric Holder, Lois Lerner, Merrick Garland, Adam Kinzinger, Anthony Fauci, Mitch McConnell, McMasters, Kevin McCarthy, Billary, The CEOs of the Fortune 500 ... these are just a few of the tasty morsels that can wet your appetite.
Now to my review: 90 minutes of hairless monkeys patting themselves on the back. To National Geographic's credit they did include some science in this program. But that didn't stop it from being a duzy of a comedy. So it's not a total waste of your time.
Stowaway to the Moon (1975)
A guilty pleasure
When this movie was released I was the same age as the stowaway to the moon. Like many pre-teen boys of this period I dreamed of going to the moon. My youthful mind was filled with fantasies nurtured by 2001 ... Forbidden Planet ... Star Trek ... Planet of the apes ... Space 1999 and many other sci-fi films and books. I really enjoyed this TV movie despite its flaws. Yes, the science doesn't work in some parts and it's made on a budget. Still, in the days prior to STAR WARS this fired the imagination of boys who thought of themselves as Tom Swift and dreamed of the adventures awaiting humanity out among the stars.
The Onion Movie (2008)
Has held up well IMO
It was made in 2004 ... but apparently was released in 2008. Not sure what is up with that. What bothers me is I don't think it could be made today, and that is a worrisome commentary on the trajectory of our culture. In order to cater to extremists, we have basically outlawed comedy in the USA. But for one brief shining moment we could make movies like Blazing Saddles, Animal House and Tropic Thunder. Alas, we are now everything we used to correctly hate.
Thunderball (1965)
My second favorite bond film
The Spy Who Loved Me is 1st and Goldfinger is 3rd. Another reviewer said this film is a turning point in the Bond films. He lamented that with this film story took a back seat to gadgets and formula. I disagree. Goldfinger was the turning point. With that film the Bond series went from spy films to superhero-adventure films, and I'm okay with that.
I liked Casino Royale, the 2006 version. It was gritty and realistic. But the escapism of the Daniel Craig films doesn't match the Connery films in my opinion. And of the Connery films (all 7 of them) Thunderball, for me, is at the top.
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
Wife and I went to the movie ...
She said, "The last time I felt this way we were coming out of American Sniper". I said, "What about Zero Dark Thirty and 13 hours and United 93?" She said, "Not quite up to this standard."
I understood what she was saying. No obamapologizing for America in this film. Some good old fashion patriotism and action/adventure. Now of course there were no RED STARS on the planes to tip you off as to who the bad guys were. But it's pretty obvious the writers/producers were insinuating a rogue third world nation (cough Iran cough) with lethal intent toward civilization. There were good guys and bad guys, and I didn't even mind the Military politics involved ... because, sadly, that's what the Military has devolved into: One giant self-destructive machine. But in this movie, the US Military was able to get out of its own way and win the day by focusing on merit rather than some virtueless-signaling agenda.
I gave it a 10 even though a 9 is probably more accurate. But I did that as a thank you to Bruckheimer/Cruise for reminding Hollywood and the public, that there really is a market for patriotic movies, even though Hollywood is 100% convinced that all the public wants is divisive, audience-insulting, anti-American, anti-civilization claptrap dressed up as "inclusive love".
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022)
STAR WOKE: Strange New Girls
Paramount+ makes me feel sorry for young people. You can tell from the reviews that 90% of the reviewers have never seen THE CAGE/THE MENAGERIE.
Those episodes were indeed progressive and original. Gene Roddenberry understood what progress actually was. This show is just more leftist orthodoxy masquerading as entertainment. As others have mentioned this show is a bunch of untalented women and impotent boys with plenty of hair product.
Uhura is ugly on the inside and outside ... what an insult to the legacy of Nichelle Nichols.
Captain Pike has transitioned into Captain Woke. And for some reason he is now clairvoyant ... and I'm pretty sure if Jeffrey Hunter were alive he would view this effort as an embarrassing caricature of what Roddenberry was trying to do.
Nurse Chapel is now Nurse Valley Girl.
Spock is as logical and mature and stoic as Greta Thunberg.
I could go on and on, but if you don't understand the origin of all this fail, then you are full of BS (aka Bernie Sanders)
Spy Wars: Spies Next Door (2019)
This episode lays bare ...
What the Obama administration was all about. It was about creating an alliance between the DNCCP and international Marxism. And the dictator, who still runs the USA to this day, is Barry Soetoro. Lincoln predicted America would be brought down from within, and he was right. We are now all living inside Orwells nightmare. NOTHING YOU READ OR HERE FROM THE LEGACY MEDIA IS RELATED TO OBJECTIVE REALITY. FACT! Either start fighting back or know that all the people born after 2008 will live in a nightmare dystopia.
Counterpart (2017)
Looky here, a premonition of real world events
You learn within a few episodes that one paranoid side used a pandemic to bring about the destruction of an enemy they feared.
Remember, this was filmed in 2017 ... makes you think, doesn't it?
In fact that's the strength of this entire series. Every episode makes you think long and hard. And since most people are allergic to work and thinking, that would explain why so few people have watched or even heard of this series.
If you're superstitious enough and paranoid enough, you'll start to think this is a future documentary somehow smuggled back into our time period.
Aftermath: Population Zero (2008)
The name of the director or writer? There's a reason it's not listed.
I have a theory on why this is so ... because this isn't a documentary, it's a fantasy ... a fantasy by people who decry extinction, but in reality long for the extinction of one species. It's not hard to figure out which group they belong to and what their ultimate goal is.
