Eom-ma Chin-gu A-deul (2024)
I have a mix of admiration and frustration when it comes to the writer.
This drama is absolutely worth your time, though it's important to note that it isn't a typical romcom. It's more of a melodrama with elements of slice of life, and a dash of romance and humor. While no work is perfect (at least for me), I found it enjoyable. It made me both laugh and cry, and gave me plenty of those heart-fluttering moments. The beautiful promotions and the charming off-screen interactions between Haein and Somin only enhanced the experience, making it even more memorable for me as a viewer.
But I have to be honest, the writer seems lost here. It feels like she's wandering aimlessly, much like a person stumbling down a path without clear direction. I respect her attempt to make things relatable and realistic, but when it comes to the core element "romance" she completely missed the mark. The unnecessary twists she introduced really hurt the development of the main couple's relationship. Haein and Somin have amazing chemistry, but the way their characters were written didn't allow that to shine. I can understand why some viewers were frustrated. In fact, their BTS interactions are far more captivating than anything in the actual drama. It's really disappointing to see such potential wasted.
While this drama makes great use of Haein and Somin's excellent acting skills, it falls short in showcasing their beautiful chemistry. Their love story had so much potential but would have been more impactful if we also got her perspective, like when she began to fall for him or when she started seeing him as a romantic interest. I understand her personal struggles, but her love for him feels underdeveloped. Her actions alone aren't enough to convey that connection to me as a viewer; something crucial feels missing....... HER FREAKING POV, DARN IT.
I don't mean to sound negative, but I'm a bit let down by the writer. There were so many wonderful opportunities she could have explored.
On the other hand, his perspective is one of the most captivating in K-drama history. His character completely won me over; I especially appreciated how he had realistic layers, with his own flaws rather than being purely fictional. However, it was his actions and words towards her that were crafted so beautifully, and Haein's brilliant performance elevated it even more.

When you started watching a romcom just for fun, but it turned out to be deeper than you expected.
I truly enjoyed watching this drama. Initially, I had low expectations, but it pleasantly surprised me in the best possible way. The show was warm, funny, and incredibly adorable, making it a delightful watch from start to finish. My favorite aspect was the main couple-their chemistry was extraordinary and unique, setting them apart from typical on-screen pairs. They brought so much heart and authenticity to their roles, creating moments that were both touching and hilarious. The way their relationship developed felt natural and engaging, keeping me invested in their story throughout. I will genuinely miss seeing them together on screen, as their dynamic was one of the highlights of the drama. This show exceeded my expectations and left a lasting impression on me.

The love story is beautifully unique, with a chemistry between the couple that is both heartwarming and genuine. Their relationship unfolds in a way that feels natural and authentic, drawing viewers in and keeping them invested in their journey from beginning to end.
And let's not forget about the acting, which is nothing short of phenomenal. Jang Ki Yong, in particular, shines in his role, bringing his character to life with a depth and authenticity that is truly impressive. His portrayal is so convincing that it's impossible not to be completely engrossed in his character's journey, especially as a father, where his performance is both endearing and inspiring.
In conclusion, the atypical family is a friendly reminder of the power of love, growth, and family. With its unique storyline, beautifully developed characters, and phenomenal acting, it's a must-watch for anyone looking for a heartwarming and uplifting drama experience.

It was better than I expected
I won't lie. It was better than I thought, in fact I don't trust korean movies they're always randome, but this one , this one surprise me, it was a good slice of life movie with a beautiful plot twist, I truly enjoy it.
In fact, I was going to get mad, but the ending made me relax. For me, I find these kinds of movies useful for daily life. People should be more rational in relationships. I will absolutely recommend this movie.
People should stop reading reviews before watching anything. They will definitely affect you no matter what, so make sure to watch first, then see what other people think.

Fantasy with a good touch of comedy and excellent chemistry and poor writing
I enjoyed watching it, fantasy with a good touch of comedy and excellent chemistry, but it could be better if they make it into 12ep or less, I always have problems with the korean writers, somehow they will find a way to disappoint you no matter what.
It a light drama. I didn't focus that much on the acting, but the FL is a little bit weak in serious scenes and sometimes annoying.
The ML kept me save, I didn't have that second lead syndrome ( the other boy was cute, too). Jang ki yong gave his character justice as always. He made me believe that he's a fox in reality, I'm in love in the way he acts with his eyes. I enjoyed his interactions with female "POX", and the second couple was good, too.
Honestly, the writer could do better than this, it's fantasy, but I didn't see that many fantasy things.
The cast was good, but the story was strong at beginning but not till the end.

Evil characters saved the show
Ha Yoon, Yi Kyung, honestly, you guys saved the show many times. I don't know if the drama will be interesting without them. They stole the spotlights effortless, especially Ha yoon. They made a wonderful job choosing the main evil characters, but I won't say the same for the main leads, I'm still disappointed, they've could do a better job.
Min young is a good actress. I saw her previous works, she was amazing, especially in "Healer", but unfortunately she didn't stop playing with her face, and that made her expressions frozen no matter how edgy she's.
Na in woo, I love him, he's handsome and talented, but this role is not for him.

Low budget high quality
Yes, It's a low-budget drama , but it has a lot of unique things, nowadays drama doesn't have. The simplicity, the excellente chemistry, the no exaggerated acting, and most importantly the warmth vibe.
To be more specific, I'm talking about the ML and FL. The others were so annoying except the ML's mother and grandmother ^^
Lastly I had a crush on Sung hoon during "My Secret Romance" and Idk why, but he disappeared suddenly, till now I heard about this drama and I renewed my love for him, I really want to see him more, his natural /warm acting and charming appearance should not get wasted.
Btw: Why do I always end up liking the less popular actors with beautiful talent, but zero luck? This man right here (sung hoon) has a huge potential but unfortunately misguided. He need to challenge himself and try other genres beside romance.
