Mujeres Arriba (2020)
'Soltera Otra Vez' fruna version
This is a very bad movie. The protagonist is a horrible 'actress', the truth is that I do not know if she is really an actress. You can tell they included all of their friends in the movie. Natalia Valdebenito overworked to the max. Everything is poor in this film, starting with the script, the performances, the music, the editing, etc. The male actors were apparently the only professionals. Laughter emitted during the movie: 3. Yawns emitted during the movie: 1 full hour.
Ámbar (2016)
Infantilism taken to the extreme
This is undoubtedly the worst production that Mega has made. They took infantilism to its absolut extreme. It did not have the weight to be an afternoon teleserie, it is more of a kid's series that could have gone to another schedule. Perhaps the only redeemable thing is the villain of María José Bello, more than anything because she looked beautiful. Needless to say, all the characters were unbearable caricatures, especially the comic roles. 2/10
Si Yo Fuera Rico (2018)
One of the worst of Mega
This television series is one of the worst that Mega has done, along with 'Ámbar'. The writer wanted to make 3 parallel stories that at some point had to come together. But he never knew how to mix them. Even actors have come out criticizing that the scriptwriter did not know what to do with his characters and ended up eliminating them. The situations in general were also very boring and also slower than turtle. The only good thing was the story of Matilde, played by María Fernanda Martínez, she stole this television series, everything else is completely forgettable. 4/10
Mea Culpa: El veneno (2003)
This is practically a suspense movie!
This chapter is one of my favorites from 'Mea Culpa'. It is practically a suspense movie, which keeps us in view all the time. Sandra Solimano's performance is masterful, it is a pity that after the operation on her face she has not continued acting, Adriana Vacarezza also evokes that memory of the distinguished actresses of the golden age of TV. The situations and the unexpected descent definitely make this chapter one of the top 5 of 'Mea Culpa'. 10/10
Pobre Gallo (2016)
Pituca sin Lucas 2
With this television series, Mega wanted to repeat the success of 'Pituca sin Lucas', repeating even the same couples, but it did not work for them. A lackluster script, mediocre, absurd comedy, without sustenance, that hardly relied on situations. Very unpleasant characters that made you want to change the TV. Sometimes this had a funny scene or two, but they were rare, excellent actors completely wasted, here one realizes that the most important thing in a production will ALWAYS be the script. Something that I did like was the song 'De solo vivir' by Abel Pintos and the character of Antonia Zegers as an unbearable millionaire, her speeches made me laugh a lot, although it was almost a special participation, that makes it clear that the other characters were practically garbage. 3/10
Estúpido Cupido (1995)
The first super production of TVN
This is the first TVN super production of the 90s, of many others that followed it under the command of Vicente Sabatini, the story is set in the 60s and is a remake of a Brazilian script, here Claudia Di Girolamo highlights in her role as a nun, also highlights the upstart Luz Arlegui played by the retired actress Jael Unger, but above all, the villain of the story stands out; Isabel Margarita played by Claudia Burr (role that to date has marked her the most), I also want to highlight the character of Carlota Meza (I think it is the best role of Silvia Piñeiro) the president of the committee for morals and good customs of the town, Coke Hevia as a child did excellent, he was like the Chilean Macauly Culkin, and made an excellent duo with Mario Montilles who played his grandfather. I think that the protagonists had little weight, it is a pleasure to always see Carolina Fadic, but I think that her story did not have an important development. I give it a 10 more than anything for nostalgia and for being the first of many super productions that would come later. The sixties music is a great plus of this production as well.
Ema (2019)
Good visual!
The image, the colors and the music is the only good thing about this movie. Unnatural dialogues make the movie look too baggy and fake. The relationships between the characters were also SO unreal that they made one as a spectator not connect with them. As always in Chilean movies, it is full of sex scenes. It seems that the writer took advantage and gave himself the fetish to see all the young Chilean actresses of the moment naked and kissing each other. I highlight the performance of Mariana Di Girolamo in her first leading role in the cinema. 5/10.
El Señor de la Querencia: El fin del villano (2008)
An epic ending!
This ending is the BEST that exists of all Chilean teleseries. Full of tension and deaths that I think will not be repeated in any future production. José Luis Echenique for me is by far the best villain of all Chilean teleseries, the brutal massacre of this chapter only ends up reinforcing that he is the best villain in all the Chilean fiction.
Prófugos (2011)
The best Chilean series of all time
This series has it all, good performances, a lot of action, a lot of tension, adrenaline and also beautiful locations. I think the story gave to make a third season. Of all the Chilean series that I have seen, this is the best and the one with the highest quality. None beats Prófugos. 10 out of 10.
Pituca sin Luca$ (2014)
A good return of Mega to the teleseries
Pituca sin lucas is the first series of the new Mega era led by María Eugenia Rencoret. From this television series, Mega beats the other channels and becomes the leading channel to this day. What stands out about this series is that it is fresh and very close, Paola Volpato shines with her leading role, Ingrid Cruz stands out with her comic character, Augusto Schuster and Mariana Di Girolamo make an excellent youth couple, Gabriela Hernández becomes a Chilean icon , with her character of Lita, in general the TV series is light and fun, today it is re-broadcast in Chile for the third time. And I think it is one of Mega's best accomplished evening teleserie, which unfortunately later became extremely infantilized.
Mea Culpa (1993)
A Chilean horror classic
Mea Culpa is a series of unit chapters that narrates various crimes that have occurred in Chile, many cases that have impacted Chileans, the atmosphere and the realism of each case and of each chapter is very well told, the good work is noted, Carlos Pinto appearing unexpectedly in some scene is also a classic, today the chapters broadcast at dawn, I think Mea Culpa is a thousand times better than many boring and poorly made Chilean films. I give it a 10 for being a Chilean classic that never dies.
La Jauría (2019)
I expected more
I expected more, I think they wanted to cover many stories and did not delve into any. Blanca (Antonia Giesen) barely had dialogues, the villain's outcome was very hasty and the way to discover him almost absurd. The dialogues in general about machismo were very basic, all the men were villains and all the women were victims. Great performances by Antonia Zegers, María Gracia Omegna, Paula Lushinger, Lucas Balmaceda and Clemente Rodríguez. Daniela Vega urgently needs some acting classes, although something has improved since "A Fantastic Woman". I hope that if there is a second season they delve deeper into the stories and it will not be so superficially told. 5/10
Papá a la Deriva (2015)
Entertaining ... re-broadcast in 2020!
Due to the pandemic, Mega began broadcasting "Papá a la Deriva" this 2020. This TV series is very funny, it has such funny characters that it makes it fresh and fun like Esmeralda (Li Fridman), Diego (Renato Jofré), Bárbara (Francisca Walker) and Rosario (Francisca Imboden). In addition, it has romantic couples with a lot of chemistry such as that of the protagonists Bruno (Gonzalo Valenzuela) with Violeta (María Gracia Omegna), Camila (Fernanda Ramírez) and Cristóbal (Simón Pesutic) and Esmeralda and Diego, the location in Valparaíso makes a difference with the other Mega TV series. The music is also pleasant and fresh, especially the song "Por ti" by the Colombian Jeloz. I think that the Mega channel was right to repeat it since it has given it good results in rating, making it almost daily the most watched program of the day, it shows that people want to see something light and fun while they are locked in their houses due to the pandemic. Recommended for those who want to see something nice and not think much.
Cola de Mono (2018)
Cristóbal Rodríguez Costabal is the movie
This movie is a hodgepodge of misguided ideas. Filled with cliches. There is not a good development to be able to connect with the characters, especially with the mother. The only good thing about the film is the music and Cristóbal Rodríguez Costabal (Borja) who made a very good performance since he is not a professional actor, the only thing that kept me captive to the film was him, since the film became endless and halfway through I wanted it to end. It shows too much Alberto Fuguet got excited with him and that's why he gave him the main character. Alberto Fuget should thank him for being the only good thing about his movie. 5/10
Trauma (2017)
Bad
I like gore movies and this one was reputed to be extreme. But it is very bad. The protagonists and their decisions throughout the film are stupid. Actresses' performances are appalling and unbelievable, especially in torture scenes. There is the typical absurdly indestructible villain. I thought the movie would be more grotesque, but I even found it soft, except for a couple of scenes. Something positive is the music. I do not recommend it.
Juegos de Poder (2019)
Pelao Schuster
This is a great teleserie. The plot changes made it unpredictable. Augusto Schuster made his best character with 'Benjamín Bennet' so far, making a psychopathically complex character and differentiating himself from his previous roles, demonstrating by far the excellent actor he is, ending stealing the TV series.
Verdades Ocultas (2017)
I like VO <3
I like it because it is different from everything that had been done before in Chile. Because they have known how to keep entertaining by constantly removing and placing actors to put new plots. Also because it has "weird" stories that may seem incredible. Not for nothing after years and almost 1000 chapters, people continue to watch it, making it almost daily the most watched show in the country.
Pacto de Sangre (2018)
Good but overvalued
The TV Series is good, but VERY overvalued by its fans, many chapters were very slow and NOTHING happened, I think there are much better Chilean TV series like "El Señor de la Querencia", "Machos", "Cerro Alegre", among other. Their fans also overvalue Netflix, always saying that the series is perfect for Netflix, but Netflix is not synonymous of quality. In addition the scenery is one of the worst of Channel 13 of the last decade. I highlight the great performances of Ignacia Baeza and Néstor Cantillana, and the return to the direction of Cristián Mason. 6/10
Alguien Te Mira (2007)
The first of the trilogy!
"Alguien te Mira" (2007) is the first nighttime TV series of TVN's Golden Trilogy, together with "El Señor de la Querencia" (2008) and "Donde está Elisa?" (2009), it is worth watching the 3 productions, all of them excellent and with almost the same cast, TVN with this teleserie innovated in the genre, betting on the thriller and this gave them very good results in rating, not for nothing they repeated this formula without stopping in other productions, even Telemundo did a remake, although to my taste nothing compares with the original product, here I highlight the performance of Álvaro Rudolphy, who did one of his best performances of his career, role that until Today is remembered by many viewers, 10/10.
Madre (2016)
Good movie, bad ending...
This film is good, funny, although the plot is almost a copy of Rosemary's Baby, Daniela Ramirez in the lead role does a very good job, very credible, the bad thing about this movie is its absurd ending, very badly concluded and fast , another important flaw of the film is the terrible performance of the actress Aida Jabolín who plays the role of the Filipina nanny, my vote 7/10.
Jesús (2016)
Boring development...
I think the Chilean scriptwriters have good ideas but bad development of scripts, they do not know how to maintain a good plot, they do not know how to create good dialogues that make us stick to the screen, a clear example of that deficiency is this film.
Princesita (2017)
Fome
Nothing happens, many silences, the general plot is good but VERY wasted, scarce script, the main actress very badly chosen, the dubbing of some characters take away the naturalness of the performances, I expected more.
Chipe Libre (2014)
Good production, weak script.
"Chipe Libre" is about a couple who take the decision to separate for a while. The actors do a good performance, the atmosphere is good and the music composition too, but the script is very basic, good base but very weak development, the writers were unable to take advantage of the script and the characters.
I think Channel 13 wanted to make a new "Soltera otra vez" but did not give them results. The copy will not beat the original, but still there are some redeemable things.
The silver lining: - Carolina Varleta (excellent performance as the crazy woman, very funny) -Mario Horton (the best male character to my taste, looked more sexy than ever as the boxer Franco, very good his performance) -Loreto Aravena (initially I did not like much, but then his character became one of the best, very funny too) - Luciana Echeverria (very nice change compared to what she has done previously in his career). -Bonus: Felipe Pinto (very very very handsome, one of the most handsome Chilean actors of the last time, but here the producers squandered that).
My vote 6/10
Teen Wolf (2011)
Teen Stiles
I started watching Teen Wolf the last year, by the popularity it had in internet. It began as a teen series but with the passage of the seasons became more and more obscure and interesting (especially the second part of season 3) the first part of season 3 was very confusing and full of rare words and complicated stories.
It has some good performances for such a young and almost inexperienced cast, secondary and guest characters are stealing the attention and affection several times more than the protagonists themselves. The male cast is the hottest of any series that I've seen before and that is a big plus, was necessary an action series on TV where we could also recreate the view at the same time. The side less good of the series: some pop songs that put in some scenes I do not like much and some issues are not treated in depth (like the death of important characters or skills from one chapter to another managed as if they were experts).
But go with what's important, because despite the above what most rescued from the series is the character of Stiles Stilinski played by the brilliant actor Dylan O'Brien, I plead absolutely fans of him, he is amazing, he is the true protagonist of the story, he has an amazing charisma on screen, comes to overshadow Tyler Posey in his lead role of werewolf (his character started very well but was gradually losing charisma with the passing of the seasons, I like how he does too but against Stiles looks minimized).
The only bad thing is that Stiles will never have a relationship with Derek (the gay characters in this series are terrible, they have no importance in the plot).
Thanks to MTV for discover this actor and make him known to the world.
Sudamerican Rockers (2014)
The Best Chilean TV Series of 2014!
Sudamerican Rockers is the best TV mini-series made in Chile, the series is about the beginning of the musical group called "Los Prisioneros".
Sudamerican is very different than what the Chilean television shows commonly within the range of the local series (those with 1 chapter per week), it is fun, has good performances, good covers, good direction, good dialogues and is generally well done. I think it's much better than the BORING series "Los 80" (which only their first seasons were good, now makes me sleep).
The leading trio is doing very well and even they sing a lot like the original band, nothing like the movie "Miguel San Miguel" that was RUBBISH, Jorge Gonzalez of that movie was a shame he did not even reach the heels of Jorge of this TV series (nor acting, nor singing).
Seeing what is done in Chile, I have only praise and nothing to criticize. Actually the only bad thing is that apparently will have only one season.
AGUANTE LOS PRISIONEROS !!!
