The Stranger (2020)
I had no idea that the police in England are incompetent...
As a police procedural apparently after telling the police that you had a row (argument) with your wife who disappeared immediately after that and you failed to report it for a week until they come looking for her they then thank you and let you go home after a 3 minute interview. The wife is later found dead. Or another coed (or high school student, hard to tell) whose mother (different woman) disappeared and is found murdered is interviewed at home by the police but let her father sleep in. Why bother waking the husband after the mother is found murdered, or even tell him first? That is very polite policework! Finally the murderer tries to reason with the husband of the victim who is holding a gun to "just get on with your life and let it (the wife's murder) go". I left out the many side stories that are also implausible such as two kids with a never ending acid trip, a guy who doesn't want to move from his house which is about to demolished since he buried a body which is found during demolition ( why not move the body?) and more that is just a letdown. Don't bother watching.
Sunset (2018)
If I could have ridden that bomb down it would have been better
A story with characters so bad I had to fast forward to 1: 20: 12 to see them disintegrate and then it ends. Enough talking. Even the credits were a relief .since it proved the movie was ending
Locke & Key (2020)
Imagine a family named Locke living in keyhouse, and story is about locks and keys!
I can't get past that lack of imagination. The premise is very interesting however the writing is just about the worst and the acting is not good. It seems like the 8 year old is the smartest, most logical person. For some reason the wife of the Locke family (not a direct descendant) is given possession of the house right after her husband dies. Why then? Even though there is an uncle (brother) who would be expected to be at least one of the inheritors. Then she decides to sell it at the end. This show borrows the twist from almost every other recent horror movie (and does it poorly) there are still enough plot holes that there needs to be a 5 minute exposition at the end of the last episode to explain what happened. And throw in the YA angle which is separate from from the main story. Also everyone in town except for the Locke family knows about or has the keys but this is supposed to be a secret? Did I mention the bad writing? Why does this show get another season but many more worthy shows do not? There should be a mystery story about Netflix executive decision making. I will complement the set designers, scenery and special effects, but not much else that is good about this. About as original as Dana Carvey naming his character Pistachio Disguisey in the movie The Master of Disguise.
The Beatles (1965)
I didn't realize the show lasted several years
I recall only bits and pieces of the show and would love to see it again on TV. It probably is dated but would bring back a lot of memories. I remember the scene where the Beatles were performing in the Roman Coliseum and the beat was causing it to fall apart.
