Kantara (2022)
Seeing a good movie after a long time
Wowww, what an amazing movie. I don't know of anyone who has seen this movie only once. Unfortunately, I could not watch this movie in theatre, but still loved it by watching this on my TV. Amazing performance by Rishabh and great casting. I see, lot of reviews saying that this is hyped, I understand that. If you are not familiar with the Karnataka's coastal region culture/way of life and also Bhootha/kola, lot of things in this movie seems very ordinary. So totally agree that not everyone would like this movie. But no matter what the final 15 mins of the movie will be mind blowing to anyone. I must have seen that scene like 10 times on repeat.
Great casting, except for Achyuth Kumar. Although he's a great actor, I felt like someone else of lesser fame with more closer accent could have done justice to the role.
Lot of fights were not really necessary, could have kept it much real and still had the same effect.
Some of the characters needed some build-up. Like the guy who lifts Rishabh in the final scene, just shows up without any history.
Bit more depth into the way of life of the villagers. They are mostly just fighting for land and drinking alcohol. Maybe some plot around why they need and deserve the land.
But nevertheless, unbelievable movie. Really happy to see such an impactful movie after a long time.
Get Shorty (2017)
Amazing show
I did not expect this show to be this good. At first I thought It's a typical comedy considering the show has O'dowd and Ray. But I was surprised to see it was not just another comedy show. Chris O'dowd is phenomenal throughout the series and has justified his role with his performance. Also the show never gets boring or turns into something we expect. It's full of surprises and keeps audience curious. Enjoyed it thoroughly and it's good that they decided to end it at season 3 instead of dragging it on.
Vinland Saga (2019)
Started really well but became boring
The show starts really well but then tapers off. They killed Thors too soon. What starts out to be a story of thorfinn but loses focus and instead becomes story of Askeladd. Don't know why they had to that. There is no strong storyline behind thorfinn following Askeladd and after all that hype Askeladd dies at the hand of another boring character Canute. Too many filler episodes.
The Dragon Prince (2018)
Such an underrated show
I did not expect this show to be so brilliant. I am only half way through the series and I have loved it so far. Really amazing script. It's not a typical Disney animation kind of show. This is very different. Very brilliant.
W1A (2014)
Hidden gem
Don't know why Netflix didn't recommend this to me, instead of all the junk. It's a bit repetitive but very light. I do enjoy these types of shows. This is very similar to "the IT crowd". It's great that BBC makes limited episodes of these shows. Very funny and light. Great characters and very well narrated.
Masaba Masaba (2020)
Childish
This show seems like someone wanted to make a show, took a phone and shot something with their friends. What's wrong with Netflix? They're making all these crappy Indian shows. There are so many talented ppl in India and it is already destroyed by great nepotism in movie industries in all languages. Netflix give some opportunities to someone whose relatives are not present in movie industry.
