True Detective (2014)
Two Detectives Out For A Walk
Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson simply make this show absolutely magnificent. These two detectives are solving a mysterious murder over a long 17 year case. The way the show captures the dark country side makes it believable that they are in hell. A hell full of nasty fellows that dread across their paths.
Matthew McConaughey... wow, I find his role in this series is better than anything he's ever done. He is incredible nailing everything in his path. He's really outdone himself providing one of the best characters to date.
Woody Harrelson also doing a very fine job himself giving off a tough cop who's out to do his job.
Both of them work really fine together, terrific chemistry. Only 8 episodes that feels like you're watching an entire movie. Even the intro of True Detective is a work of art. Although this show mainly heavily focuses on drama and not to much action. But its okay because Matthew and Woody keep you on your seat. True Detective is definitely worth watching if you're into Crime/Drama. You won't be disappointed.
The Last of Us: Left Behind (2014)
Emotionally Beautiful
Ever-since I've finished The Last of Us story it was indeed one of the best games of 2013 because of its wise story-line and the characters felt realistic.I wanted more and more of The Last of Us and quite frankly this DLC manages to set very dark and very light tones. Playing as Ellie seems to be appropriate since her character manages to be one kick-ass teenage girl. We also get to explore her little journey with her best friend Riley. I don't really want to say much because this DLC needs to be played without giving out any spoilers. Though the game-play is still refreshing as always and now it gave it a more horror feel to it. And the graphics look very impressive as always. This is a good DLC to have if you're a fan of The Last of Us.
The Walking Dead: After (2014)
A Day In The Life With Carol and Michonne
This episode heavily focuses on Carol and Michonne with a little tiny bit of Rick. It's really not the best episode to open the mid-season though Michonne does have an insane kill-count for those who love blood and gore. But, frankly as a whole, Carl mainly wants to prove that he can survive by himself, that he doesn't need his dad to protect him all the time. Very simple son and dad drama. Though Carl does get into tight situations are quite jumpy.
I'm pretty sure that we all say Carol can be a idiot sometimes. For Rick, all he does is trying to protect Carl which isn't new so its been there done that. I have to say that the ending is quite nice and the next episode looks a very scary ride for the survivors for what they encounter next.
Her (2013)
Futuristic Love
The first time I saw the trailer to "Her" I was absolutely drawn to the beauty of what if it was possible to fall in love with a highly intelligent computer. Now that I've seen the movie, I gotta say it lived up to my expectations. Spike Jonze's vision of the future was very colorful and rich seeing the new technology that might be possible for today's time. This film made me think very differently then what I'm used to watching of romantic love. The love was beautiful how this guy became so attached and seeing them happily together made me very happy. This movie isn't your ordinary love movie but it does have its clichés although it works perfectly its fine. This is one of the best movies I've ever seen, it me impact me deeply it changed my perspective of the world and about love.
Hotline Miami (2012)
Miami Violence Never Looked So Good
Hotline Miami is a insane, bloody, and super violent in the depths of the Miami criminal world. You play as a guy who receives phone-calls every-night making you do the dirty work. While you're doing the dirty work, you get to wear theses different type of mask which have special abilities on how to deal with things. While you're violently killing your foes, you have this amazing soundtrack that goes along perfectly. Though the story is simply weird when you start progressing further like you're entering a bloody nightmare.
Pros: Replay value is high, tons of masks, very violent, levels are challenging, worth the price, amazing soundtrack.
Cons: The levels are a little bit small.
This game is awesome if you want a some quick gruesome fun.
Video Game High School (2012)
A High School Where It's All About Video Games... Not Bad
If you play video games 24/7 then this is the series for you! They have jokes about video games references and more. A whole high school that goes on tournaments from whatever genre you like. Although, the main focus is First Person Shooters but, wow the visuals are kick-ass that makes this series impressive. Their is also some scenes of drift- racing and I'm glad its actually real cars with no CGI at all. The only complaints I have is that some of the characters are ridiculously annoying and the acting is not that good at some points. Still, this gaming series is good for its fresh ideas giving us something diffident. It also has some special guest appearances from other TV shows and Youtube celebrities. Its definitely worth checking out.
Justin Bieber's Believe (2013)
This Makes Me Laugh
Another Justin Beiber documentary where this "super" kid pop star still manages to make 9 year old's girls scream to death. Pretty pathetic if you ask me. His voice tends to be death to my ears and everyone else's. His music will always be terrible even "if" he tries to put more effort into his music. He will never go down to be a great, incredible, and talented musician. He is a waste of space in the music industry to make it stupidly worse as it already is. Why make a documentary on a wasted teenager that has no talent that's unnecessary garbage that needs to be thrown out and forever will be gone for good. I hope Justin Beiber realizes that his dumb pretty boy look will never last and that his music career will be dead within seconds.
The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct (2013)
Oh Come On, It's Not That Bad
From all over the world this game tend to receive bad ratings. Quite frankly I think they over-exaggerated because this game is decent but it does have some really bad game design and flaws. You play as Daryl, like who wouldn't want to play as Daryl.
Gameplay: It's your simple FPS with zombies in the mix. The game-play can be quite fun shooting your bow or smashing head with a hammer but the fun of that ends quickly it becomes stale. What you mostly do in the game is go from point A to point B. It's often where you have to get gas, save survivors, collect items, and even have a crew to go on your trip.
Pros: You play as Daryl, knifing zombies in the face is fun, the locations you end up have that zombie apocalypse feel to it.
Cons: Badly design zombies, Weapons feel the same, Very short game Frustrating sometimes, zombies can be really stupid, very weak story.
Overall this price should be worth at least $15 to $20 since that's what it feels like. It really could have been better if they put some more effort and time. Oh well I had some fun with it.
Battlefield 4 (2013)
Four Is Better Then Three
Story- A very short campaign that you will finish it within 4-5 hours depending how you play. The story was pretty weak and really had no exciting parts. Also quite boring too. Although the intro into the game was funny and tragic.
Multiplayer- Without a doubt one of the best Multiplayer I've ever played in a Battlefield game. The only thing that's disappointing is that you can't view 3rd person mode while in a tank, only in a quad vehicle. The weapons are excellent, maps are gorgeous, modes are great! Its very fun and engaging that you never want too quit.
The Bad News- This game is full of bugs and glitches. I've crashed about 20 times in single player mode that made me pull my hair out. Quite annoying sometimes you can't even get passed the loading screen. I suggest you stay away from it until the developers fully patch it.
Other than that, Battlefield 4 is fun fun fun!!
The Walking Dead: Too Far Gone (2013)
The Governor Vs The Prison
Holy in the mother of Jesus Christ... This episode was the most intense, epic, thrilling episode I've ever seen in the Walking Dead. They really go far out and it shows really well how it progressed. Season 4 proves to be on the best Walking Dead seasons judging by this episode. The insane amount of blood spilling everywhere from top top bottom from an all out bloody war-zone between Rick and The Governor. I was sweating not knowing who's gonna die but sadly Hershel became on the the victims of The Governor's hostages and didn't make it. It's very sad to see Hershel die a very brutal death by The Governor. So many surprise in this episode its awesome! All I have to say is that this episode had some major balls!
Kudos to the Walking Dead creators and writers.
Arrow (2012)
The Green Arrow Is A Win!
I was expecting this show to be absolutely horrible ,but I was totally wrong. Arrow has a lot of awesome fights scenes and seeing the flash-backs of how he became the Green Arrow was quite fulfilling. Couldn't believe how much Green Arrow kicked so much ass. And that's the good part that it immediately starts the Green Arrow pretty much being a badass. Also not only it shows the Green Arrow but, other cameos from the DC comic universe to spice the action and story up. Although, the writing can be a little bit dry and some of the acting can be bad sometimes, still this show will keep you entertain until the end.
The Walking Dead: Live Bait (2013)
The Governor Should We Trust?
Nothing is left for The Governor anymore. After his violent rage against his people and leaving us with a question mark at the end of Season 3. We finally get to see what's been going on with him. His own two personal body guards left him with nothing ,but loneliness. Interesting how you kinda feel bad for The Governor but still have that grudge for what he did to those people in Woodbury throughout the episode. Seeing him destroying Woodbury was amazing seeing the fires and hell that burned though that evil place of lies. Since this episode focuses heavily on The Governor we get to see other side of him. And we get to meet new survivors who go along with The Governor. Which makes me question if we can trust the Governor again or is still a mad dog ready to blow more steam.
Breaking Bad (2008)
The Perfect Television Show Of All Time
Bryan Cranston...who would have known this marvelous talented actor can be such a menacing, dangerous, bad-ass that cooks meth and trying to become the most greatest kingpin of all time. He simply nails the role of Walter White from being a scared man who then transforms into the all mighty Heisenberg. Then we have our other characters from our wanna be gangster Jesse Pinkman, an annoying wife beautifully played by Anna Gunn, our D.E.A agent Dean Norris, and our purple loving freak Betsy Brandt. All theses people play their part wonderfully making the show exciting and not boring at all. As each season goes we get to met our baddies such as: Crazy 8, Tuco, The Mexican Twins, Gus, and Neo-Nazi brothers, including Heisenberg himself. This show will keep you on the edge wanting to know what happen next from the start. What makes this show perfectly is that everything ties in leaving no clues behind. What makes it even better is that Bryan Cranston leaves us a remarkable character who we can relate too and love till the end.
Call of Duty: Ghosts (2013)
Ghosts Doesn't Fit The Title
Here we go again with our Call of Duty makers revamping the single player, multiplayer, and our brand new mode Extinction! First all COD:Ghost should be priced as a $40 and not a full on $60 game. Ghosts isn't a game you should be getting now, wait until its price is lower.
The Multiplayer- Maps are huge barely finding anyone on the map, spawn- camping is way horrible in this COD, confusing customization, less weapons, useless character customization, new modes, and this happens to be the worst COD:MP I've ever played. Trust me you wanna blow your brains out.
The Singleplayer- A decent story that has some cool scenes but the ending left me with a bad taste.
Extinction- Now this mode is completely fun with challenges within a onslaught of aliens slashing out. What ruins it is that you only get one big map out of the whole game. Makes it a waste since you have you purchase another $50 on the season pass to get more maps.
They sure did screw up a lot things in COD:Ghost.
The Walking Dead: Internment (2013)
Intense Intense Intense
This has to be one of the greatest Walking Dead episode ever. This season keeps delivering awesomeness. Now that we have Carl gone(very sad) and Glen being the worst state as possible wow my heart was pumping. The zombie flu can now be cured now but death awaits for those who didn't make it in time. I love how Rick and Carl get their connection shooting some zombies down. Hershel on the edge willing to save anyone as possible while grabbing a shotgun mowing zombies one by one. On Glen's part it was a really tough to see him almost die making me cringe watching the blood flow out of his mouth. But the ending is what made go UH OH!! Someone we know is back!
The Walking Dead: Indifference (2013)
A Tough Time Living
The intro into this episode was surprisingly shocking seeings Rick's perspective watching Karen getting knifed by Carol died was brutal.
The zombies kills are pleasant to see like always. And finally we met theses two new survivors who don't seem really bothered at all and their friendly at the same time but sadly they don't end up making it.
Rick and Carol make a good team and I find their conversations really interesting. Daryl's crew surely knows how to kick-ass when they enter into that scary dark school of zombies. But uh-oh someone is hiding something and Daryl is not to fawn of it. But the ending watching Carol leave Rick's group was pretty sad. Hopefully it all ends well with her.
Bad Grandpa (2013)
The Jackass King is Back
Just as a heads up don't watch the trailer since it kinda ruins the movies huge moments although it lives up to be one outstanding hilarious movie. Here with the Jackass king, Johnny Knoxville plays as this rude, perverted, funny old man trying to get his grandson back to his dad. Mainly that's what the movie is all about but, wow this movie made me laughing because there are a lot of funny moments throughout. Not only is it funny it has heart as we see his grandson connect with his grandpa. Seeing the people's reaction are priceless as ever, the kid in the movie did a pretty good job, and Johnny Knoxville took it to a whole new level.
8.5/10
The Walking Dead: Isolation (2013)
Down With The Sickness
Its not looking good for everyone in the prison. More people are dying and more people are getting this mysterious zombie flu. Very terrible to see how people are gone from left to right. Everybody has to be isolated each other with no human contact being locked up in a cell alone. So sad to see one of the main characters Glenn as the zombie flu. Saldy, Sasha suffering also with Tyreese already in pain after seeing Karen's body being burned. This episode is really depressing enough with already half of the prison is about to be wipe out. Although the last 10 mins was very exciting fully of intense and gripping moments. When Daryl and his group are complete surround by millions of zombies was the best. This season is definitely improving.
The Walking Dead: Infected (2013)
It's All Rotting Away
Alright so far so good starting off with the zombie kid having a entire buffet to himself then hits full blast of the walkers infecting the prison. My only gripe on this episode is why didn't anybody hear the zombie kid gurgling ugly sounds in the hallways at night. On the other hand, this season seems to be promising finally no governor problem, no Andrea, and no pointless scenes. It's all about surviving conflicting the problems in the prison. And what makes it worse is that a strange flu infecting everybody far worse then a bite, the prison fences are falling soon to be crawling with zombies, and people are dying more than ever. But also it makes me wonder in who the hell is feeding the zombies! I can't finally wait to see who's the dumb-ass that's doing it. Love it how all things are starting to heat up right away.
Masters of Sex (2013)
The Title Caught My Humble Attention
Masters of Sex huh? Well I surely had to check this out myself. I was surprise to see Lizzy Caplan being one of the major characters of this show. But wow she does a good job acting even better than Michael Sheen. So far she is my favorite. Now as for Michael Sheen he plays a doctor who goes on a study about the wonders of sex, hence the title, "Masters of Sex". Made me question on why do girls do this and why do men do that. So this show provides scientific studies that was on true events. For some reason I felt like it kinda feels like its being to rush even without slowing down a bit. But hey if you're interested in the topic then this is your show to watch.
The Walking Dead: 30 Days Without an Accident (2013)
Is The Prison Still Safe...?
Finally, the wait is over! The Walking Dead bought us many tears, blood, and tons of zombie killing. Its fantastic that we are able to see a show about zombie drama every Sunday night once again with the our heroes. So far, this episode was a pretty good start having bits of dialogue here and there from the characters getting to know each other a little bit. From what it seems its like Daryl already wears the crown taking Rick's place of course being the badass he is.
This episode has its moments when Daryl and his crew go to the store, Rick meeting the creepy zombie lady int he zombies, Carl trying to be like a mini-Rick, and seeing that kid at the end turning into a zombie. Very exciting to see next's weeks episode.
But my favorite part is when Rick meets the zombie lady. Now that part I had no idea what was gonna happen. The whole dialogue between them kept me interested.
The zombies kills were pretty basic: Shoot in the face, stabbing through the fence, but there was this one where the guy tears off his zombie brain which was pretty cool.
So far this episode is like a straight up 9/10
Don Jon (2013)
Leaves You Wondering...
Joseph Gordon-Levitt first debut film was outstanding and I have to say it quite shows he has talent for film- making. Although, their are a lot of several scenes that have been repeated throughout the movie making it feel like you keep watching the same thing all over again. Yet, it manages to keep the story interesting with Jon how he is facing his problem with his porn addiction and having to face girl problems. The editing is pretty well done capturing real porn clips into the movie which was bizarre cause I have never seen that before on the big screen. And trust me there are a lot of little porn clips in the movie. Still, every guy should watch this movie because it surely does have facts to it about men, women, and sex.
Joseph Gordon plays a good job being this guy who gets all the chicks. Scarlet Johansson one incredibly fine looking actress like wow she is stunning. Tony Danza did pretty good. I just find having Julianne Moore in this movie kinda weird but it works at least. And everybody else was okay and did their part.
8.3/10
Breaking Bad: Felina (2013)
Blood-Meth-Tears
Breaking Bad is one of the most absolute hands down the greatest television show of all time. This episode completes everything with no flaws, no plot holes, no anything! It solves everything to the end. That's why Breaking Bad deserves to be on top of the list. Now, this episode is just...marvelous to its fullest. Walter White very menacing from the start. You do not want to mess with this man. Also I'm very glad to see everybody gets their part for the final episode. But,Damn... the way it ended!!! fitted perfectly!! Now that's how you do a final episode!! Bravo Vince.
But oh my god!!! The way Walter White killed all those guys with that huge M60 was one of the best Breaking Bad moments ever!!! Like Holy S**T that is some Breaking Bad stuff there. Walter White went out with a huge bang.
Dexter: Remember the Monsters? (2013)
Remember Dexter...
Dexter Morgan. The blood guy, a father, and greatly known as America's favorite serial killer. For all 8 years of Dexter we been watching, we have been waiting for the moment of truth on Dexter's last voyage. First all, the episode was poorly done during the 45 minutes of it all. The writing was quite horrible and I feel sorry for everybody on the show having to say theses lines out loud. Its the final episode and everybody should at least have a final part at least but, nope that doesn't happen. Masuka is barely in the screen for like 3 seconds. I was hoping to see everyone having a resolution seeing all their endings to it now that its all over. Pretty disappointed about that. Last but not least, Dexter finally killed someone making me feel just a little bit better
But what made this episode were those last moments with Deb. Amazingly powerful, gripping, and truly one of the best moments of Dexter history that my heart sank to the bottom of the ocean. Poor Deb they didn't have to do that to her. She should have a happy ending.
In fact, the way it ended felt unreal where it doesn't make sense leaving interpretations of how Dexter went against a hurricane. Though, I really liked how he looked at the camera and gave a little smirk that's what I've always wanted.
Still as for a final it really doesn't feel like one, this one has a lot of major flaws. I wished we had a better Dexter than this one. But Dexter will always be my all time favorite serial killer. Goodbye Dexter.
Grand Theft Auto V (2013)
All We Hear Is RadioGaga!
I'm pretty sure were all addicted to chaos when it comes to the Grand Theft Auto franchise that surly brings the fun/evil out of us! This new GTA game feels very smooth then the hard-handing control of GTA4 making it a huge step up to the game-play as flawless as ever. What I love about GTA5 is the new system which lets us play as three different characters and switch them at real time! This feature works quite wells since every character is off doing his own thing. Trevor is hands down the best character of the GTA franchise, he's so ****ing crazy and funny I love it!!
Another thing is the graphics are out of the world not knowing how Rockstar managed to keep frame-rate well polished into a enormous game like this. Even though I will miss the old San Andreas map still GTA5 has a lot to explore. Although, this game is quite good ,but sometimes it can get a little quirky with its funky controls. Eventually, you will get used to them. It's not a perfect game but sure is a damn fun one.
9/10
