A Very Merry Mix-Up (2013)
Delightful Happenstance
I love movies like this, based on pure belief that there's no such thing as coincidence and everything happens as it should. Alicia Witt plays a perfectly innocent wise young woman, whose want to hold on to her father's memory by keeping his store is more about following your heart than your pocketbook. Her current (and wrong-for-her) fiancé, who is in real estate, encourages her to sell her memories (the store) and become a multi-millionaire because of the store's location. She realizes this man has no sensitivity or understanding of her feelings and who she really is. Of course, there's more to the story.....she had met another man in the most peculiar and humorous way, a way that probably really could happen. As it is said so beautifully in this movie, "Life is about Timing, and Timing is Everything in Life and Love.".
Love You Like Christmas (2016)
Enjoyable, Fun Loving Sentiment
Finding your way even when you're not sure where you're going. How many times have we made plans, only to find we have to take a detour. Bonnie Somerville plays a wonderful role and there's a warm connection between her and the young "Jo" played by Madison Brydges. Maddie Duncan (played by Bonnie) sets off on a road trip after being given a Classic Red Mustang; just that thought alone would be exciting for anyone. However, there's much more to this movie; it's about unexpected change and walking away from the "on-paper-perfect-plan" of your life and stepping into a happiness that you never thought could possibly exist.
Journey Back to Christmas (2016)
Warm and Appealing
The allure of this movie undeniably magnetic. Time travel has long been an intriguing topic for anyone with an imagination. Candace Cameron Bure's portrayal of an intelligent, sensitive, kind WWII Nurse, who, with the help of a miraculous comet, is sent to the future, only to find that her seemingly mundane acts of kindness during her lifetime in the 1940s, were not so ordinary, as they led others to heartfelt, inspiring gifts.
I'll Be Home for Christmas (2016)
Wonderful Performances
This is a movie I'll look forward to watching many times. A true to heart lesson about going home to right any wrongs. An enjoyable performance by Giselle Eisenberg and an amazing performance by both James Brolin and Mena Suvari, the three of them create a family unit that is sometimes stressful, but continually moving forward to an unbreakable family bond. Fabulous movie!
One Starry Christmas (2014)
Hallmark Movie
I have been watching Hallmark movies for years and repeatedly, as I find that when you watch a movie more than once, you definitely catch something that you didn't initially. With that said, I recommend to any true Hallmark Movie fan that you watch "One Starry Christmas" it has become one of my favorites. For anyone who believes in following their dreams and trusting your instincts (as hard as that might be because we question ourselves too much), this is the movie for you. Sarah Carter and Damon Runyan do a wonderful job; they must both have believed in the characters they were portraying; otherwise, the roles of Holly and Luke wouldn't feel so real.
