Dobara (2004)
Good performance from Raveena Tandon
A good movie but not excellent. The songs in the movies are not brilliant and I think could have been edited out. Raveena Tandon again shows what are great and underrated actress she is but I would have liked to see more of her escape from the mental institute and how come she just suddenly stopped taking her medicine. Mahima Chaudry also performs well but her role does not require the histronics that Raveena's does but she still makes her presence felt. As usual Jackie Shroff is wooden he delivers his lines without any emotion. The story is interesting but drags in parts. The ending of the movie is quite good and the movie raised awareness of Raveena's illness. It was an interesting watch and not the usual commercial pot boiler.
This movie gets a 7/10 from me.
LOC: Kargil (2003)
slow and boring and too long
I went into this movie with Border in mind. The star cast looked tremendous Akshaye Khanna, Saif Ali Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan, Sunil Shetty. Then there was the countless actresses including my faviourite one Raveena Tandon. The movie was a total and utter disappointment. Firstly the movie was repetitive seeing the same sequence with different actors and actresses was tiresome. Then there was the boring fight scenes when they said it was releastic they weren't wrong I felt like I was watching the news. One of the things I was very disappointed with was that Saif, Ajay and Abhishek had so much screen time compared to others. Also I think one of the other actors would have enacted Abhishek Bachan role much better. when will directors learn that this guy is nothing like his father. Akshaye Khanna would have done a much better job in his role. Performances in the movie Ajay, Saif's and Monaj Bajpai's were very good. Abhsishek,Akshaye Khanna,Sanjay Dutt and Sunil Shetty's werre average. All the other actors had no scope. Rani Esha and Kareena had the most scenes of the actresses of these Kareena and Rani were good. Esha was poor. Mahima and Raveena had no scope neither did the other actresses. To large a cast and not enough emotion 3 out of 10
Aks (2001)
different in a good way
Aks was a flop but all the reviews were good I wanted to know who was more accurate the critics or the viewers well I'm on the critics side what a great and different movie for bollywood and having Raveena Tandon in it made it all the more better I loved the interrogation scene between Raveena and Amitabh and the movie was a bit like faceoff but in a bollywood way the songs were well executed and I was surprised by Raveena's role she doesn't usually pick such up front and sexual roles as this. Her whole performance is brilliant as is Amitabh Bachan and Manoj Bajpai. The star cast the spooky songs the fastpace the hollywood features it should have succeeded flop no way. 6 out of 10
Jung (2000)
Raveena totally miscast
I'll tell you the truth I watched this movie for Raveena Tandon just to watch more of my favorite actress and watched a okay movie with it starring Sanjay Dutt Jackie Shroff and Shilpa Shetty the movie wasn't that bad. I would rather have seen Raveena in Shilpas role but you can't have everything. It's nice to watch while reading a book.
Okay fine the truth is this movie was not that good at all but its always good to watch anything that stars your favorite actor or actress right, well I think so anyway. 2 out of 10. If you have never watched Raveena before start with Mohra and move on to Aks next that way you know her when she is good before you watch her countless duds.
Salaakhen (1998)
nothing special here
Sunny Deol in another of his formula action flicks. Raveena who I love as an actress and everything else about her for that matter is there for eye candy and the songs. That is her role really the songs the rest is the storyline which is weak and the same as any other movie. Raveena why did you sign this movie and audiences don't bother buying video or DVD of it rubbish. Raveena and Sunny have done a much better movie which I have yet to see called Ziddi spend you money on that one I bet it's ten times better than this tripe by the way Raveena looks great in the songs. 7 out of 10 for the songs. 1 out of 10 for the movie. Definitely not going to be in anyones top 100 movies of all time list I'm sure.
Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaaye (2000)
boring and rubbish don't waste your time
I walked into this one with high hopes Salman Khan Rani Mukherji Raveena Tandon (my favourite actress), Jackie Shroff the movie couldn't fail but it did big time in every category and in the box office as well. The real person to blame is the director who took the Wedding Singer starring Adam Sandler and Drew barrymore and turned it into a bollywood flick. Only one good song in this mess and that was picturised on Raveena and Salman. Rani was totally wasted what was she doing in this movie. Raveena also looks out of place in a small second heroine role. Salman does what hew does in every movie but this time looks bored doing it. I sat through the first half hoping this would end up being Hum Aapke Hain Koun instead is should been called Kahin Boredom Na Ho Jaaye. 2 out of 10 the 2 for Raveena Tandon.
Bulandi (2000)
disappointing overall
I watched this movie thinking it was an old one from 1994 but then was shocked to discover it released in 2000. Everything about this movies says early nineties, Anil Kapoor in a double role neither of which suit him one to old and one to young. Rekha looks great and still performs with vigour but she looked like she was competing with Raveena Tandon on screen. Raveena Tandon looked great also and being such a brilliant and professional actress she rose above Rekha's childishness and produced a good performances first spoilt brat and then pregnant wife. The movie overall was not good flop through and through 3 out of 10 the 3 for Raveena Tandon.
Braveheart (1995)
Best movie of 1995
I am a movie buff and this movie is just outside my top 10 it is as great piece of cinema but it does disappoint to a certain extent. I think this could have been even better Mel Gibson's acting was brilliant. The cast around him were also good. It has a similar feel to Gladiater in that his family were killed but this is set in Scotland and is a movie full of kilts. Better than the 1995 Liam Neeson movie Robroy this was better because there was more action. After watching him in the first 2 lethal weapons I was wandering what his scottish accent would be like and I'm sad to say it wasn't any good Mel but the movie deserves a good 8 out of 10 I'm a hard critic and sadly but true I have seen better.
Lethal Weapon 2 (1989)
This is not good
I was kind to part one because it was okay but as with every hit movie comes a sequel and boy was this not good. Danny Glover and Mel Gibson seemed to go into this one less motivated. It had the same old storyline and The combination seems to have reached its peak so I don't know how they decided to make part 3 and 4 but for some reason they did. I stopped watching after this one not good don't waste your time and if your watching on video why did you waste you money. Mel Gibson doesn't act that great either I have seen him much better in What Women Want and Brave Heart this was a travesty.
2 out of 10 the 2 going to Mel and Danny who had to carry out this poor script
Lethal Weapon (1987)
plain simple but has aged
This is the earliest Mel Gibson movie I have seen and I was impressed. As with all old movies only a few manage to survive the test of time. This one is one of those that now looks slightly dated including Mel's hair. The storyline was good though. The combination of old guy and young guy was at its best here and I really thought Mel played his role well as did the rest of the cast. I was slightly disappointed with the lack of extras on the DVD but I would say this is the best of the lethal weapon movies I have seen. I stopped after number 2 didn't live up to this one. I am not Mel Gibson's biggest fan but in this I liked his suicidal character and though I didn't watch all the sequels this was well made. I would give this movie 7 out of 10 as it hasn't enough blood and gore for my liking and there is a distinct lack of sex but I think I was pretty generous given the fact that it has aged
Rob Roy (1995)
historical slow but interesting
I watched this movie the other night and I thought it was pretty good despite the lack of action. I don't usually like movies that are more arty but after Brave heart I thought I would try this one out. I was slightly disappointed because it was quite slow but overall I think that both movies are good in different ways. Robroy is good because of Liam Neeson he was good in Star wars and I did want to see him in another movie. Jessica lange was a big disappointment what are people thinking she is not gorgeous overall I give the movie 6 out of 10. p.s. not enough action in this one either I mean wasn't this meant to be a bloody historical piece. Sword fight was okay though.
Mohra (1994)
Raveena tandon gorgeous
I love this movie for only one reason Raveena Tandon I watched it a year ago and I was not that interested until Akshay Kumar turned up and before you know it that song appeared Tu Cheez Bari Hai Mast Mast. I don't know many other Rajiv Rai movies but I hope he hasn't quit the industry I'd love to see another flick with him as director. I think Raveena Tandon can dance well also I have seen her in more serious roles but I wish she would do something like this again and get back with her on screen partner Akshay in real life they made a great couple. I would give this movie 7 OUT OF 10
