The Core (2003)
Not mature enough, but it has a great story
Really bad for the director and the writers that rushed some parts, some dialogs were just childish for supposedly smart adults, not teenagers. The Director had the camera like it was an observer watching the movie being done from the public point-of-view, not someone who's mission is to be there showing important parts of the scene with a wide angle, but of relevance, not something so global, generic and irrelevant that it drains importance to the object of the camera, the scene importance, and the overall movie direction; clearly done by an uninterested amateur that damaged this great movie that should have given great realism at the possibility of the story and delivered a far better and interesting experience, comparable to Independence Day.
So much effort from Actors, Science, SciFi and FX POV, to be underwhelmed by a Director that clearly didn't do good in Science Class.
Hemisphere (2023)
What a disaster, no clue
This is so amateur that looks like a bad high-school play or something, not much effort at anything really, specially knowledge of Science and Space technology; not even trying to do thing right with the little they could afford. Nothing was realistic, they went into filming without any knowledge of anything related to even film-making, let alone, making it interesting about anything. The "script" has 0 value, it was done by a lazy teenager in a weekend, about some easy crime in space, without any attempts to learn how to write for such. It was really bad, I can't believe they call this a movie, I'd be totally ashamed to even present this.
This was a lost opportunity to show brilliance of any type, since it'd automatically be highlighted for how bad was everything on this movie, not even the camera movement was right, I've seen movies like this but long ago, when low budget was = to low knowledge, before the Internet and computers and AI. Really no effort here; I can't qualify it 0/10.
Don't Look Up (2021)
The trailer doesn't make it justice
I watch it 'coz I was bored, the trailer make it look like a mediocre Hollywood dumb, totally wrong about Science, dumbass entertainment for the masses for profit; but actually it was mostly accurate, and a lot more Science based than I thought Hollywood would ever get it right, and realistic: how stupefied people are by Social Media, and the lack of realistic and competent politicians, solving problems for the People.
The Solution is rather simple for a Comet: you change the orbit bit rocket-bots attacked to it and keep it around Earth, on The Moon orbit line, then make it land on The Moon with the retro-rockets, then mine it and make it land on Earth with Elon Musk Landing Rockets, pay the fuel and spread the mined pieces among all Countries according to their contribution to the project; everybody wins.
See? It doesn't take a rocket Scientist, or great political maneuvering, just a common culture of cooperation and coordination. We only have each other.
The Kardashians (2022)
The sick dream of many women unfortunately
Becoming this 100% fake, hollow disloyal lavish-living perfect lazy parasites of Societies; while giving a lesbian-wannabe posing, with tight dresses to probably be as sexy as possible, as that's the only thing they value. Ironically they think they're awesome for some reason, but all they care about is making money, while deforming their bodies in whatever shape they think is sexy, according to themselves and the BS the Doctors must tell them to sell them silicone, surgeries, implants and who knows what else. I pity the kids that these women are going to have: growing in a 100% delusional unsustainable useless aimless existence; their moms being materialistic, cold, shallow, disloyal, dishonest airheads nobody respects really; these kids grow with inferiority complexes and borderline suicidal personalities, 'coz their value scale if off of any realistic existence or respectable purpose in life.
The Chi (2018)
The Series died on Season 2
2/10 'coz 2 good Seasons. I watched up to Season 3 Episode 6; this episode made no sense at all, BS drama for the sake of drama, everything went wrong for everyone, everyone on dumb extreme behavior for no reason acting stupid and putting themselves in danger, being cruel and disappointed out of absolutely no reason at all. What I think is probably the food truck guy actor asked for more money and they killed him, from there the series had a blackhole in the middle that they tried to fill up with BS Drama, insulting and mocking the intelligence of the viewership; shame ding, shame ding, shame ding.
Silo: Machines (2023)
Hollywood doesn't know about Reality
Clearly Hollywood doesn't know about:
- Physic, Thermodynamic, Material Fatigue and hot metals destroying themselves when touching cold water, what boiling water does to the human body.
- How computers and Hard Disk Drives (HDD) work, rusted ones are dead, dropping and bumping them ruins them, old computers are not hot plug; how turbines of that size work.
- No elevators, land line telephones, or Computer Network for everyone, when clearly they didn't have anything else to do but build stuff.
- Nobody getting Vitamin D3 without Sunlight, everyone would have died in a few years, no way surviving 140 years; how do you.
The ignorance is amazing, not even Middle-schoolers would flank this bad; Hollywood should be ashamed to parade their ignorance and stupidity on Multi-$Million productions; was it hard to hire a High School Science Teacher, they work for almost the minimum wage, you know?
But even educated people would say that it¡'s watchable as long as it's entertaining, that's how fascist morons like #BunklerBoy get elected.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel: The Princess and the Plea (2023)
And more crap Dialogs
From Midge Father to his friends and their superfluous nonsense, out of nowhere for really no purpose, the show makes no sense, a lot of fodder scenes and useless minutes, just to pass time and fill up the running time, or what ever they call it; this last season doesn't stop being a drag of nonsense and time wasting for no content on the storyline; nothing of substance, the useful parts can be summed up in like 5 mins total, no need for 1 hr run time... do you feel that I'm tiresome and redundant? Well, welcome to my feelings watching this season; wow, what an unbelievable waste of talent and story telling this Episode was, like pretty much every other since season 4.
The Rookie: The Knock (2022)
Chester V? seriously? LOL
I couldn't believe the hilarious similarities, all over the scenes: the orange and white colors of the guy clothes and his building, the hand gestures, the hexagons in his Lab, the security challenge; everything was an indication of Chester V, in a bit ridiculous similar way, but it has a nice homage, only not really as good, just low budget instead of going more creative and closer to the whole Chester V looks. I guess TV series try to save as much in the FX Department as possible to maximize profits, but cheapness never helps, so it should be well done, in a classy way so it's worth it and looks good.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017)
The last Season was trash
The first 5 seasons were OK, 7/10 for me, started OK, and then it was everyday Midge kinda of boring; and the last 5 was pure disappointment, probably reflecting the feeling of the makers of the series, for cutting short this fictitious series, but they needed to make it so boring and meaningless? The dumb comments, oh sorry, "jokes" they tried to put in the dialogs were absolutely lame and insignificant, 0 creativity; everything turned to stupid clowny behavior, like the musicals, but without the music, just dumb entertainment, if you can be entertained despite the Boredom.
E05 It was train-wreck in 1 hour special: what a disaster, they made this for the money or contract, or Whatever, but for sure wasn't to tell the story of a Comedian or the Comedian Culture/Business in the USA, just some random fantasy about it, this is a Hope Scam, so much potential wasted...
The Flash: The Mask of the Red Death, Part 2 (2023)
This episode shows the reason this series is being cancelled
Not only the overly dramatic stares and empty drama moments, but the lack of any good plot, resorting to various incoherent, even for SciFi, malicious plot and equally "magical" engineering of the solution; all of these is like Disney tendency, with very childish moments, "my mommy doesn't love me anymore", just like the latest Star Wars Trilogy, this is a sad excuse for plot and final Season, repetitive drama, that is boring as F!
The series stopped being interesting long ago, about Season 4, never recovered really, Quatum Physics wacky delusions that made no sense and just gave more superpowers to everyone; while the Speed Force became a version of the Christian God, to calm down the many Christian Fanatics and don't get outraged and present a public complaint + sueing for "attacking their religion" or something self-victimizing; also very low quality on the discussion all Disney level, looks like trying to appeal the 4 year old or something like that.
This is not a Disney level super hero live Comic, it never was, so it shouldn't be; it's directed to 18+, so it's boring as it could be, that's why I missed the last 3 Seasons and I don't regret it at all; I'm just watching this last Season out of nostalgia for the good Seasons and trying to figure it out how it's going to end, but I'm going to stop 'coz it's simply more Disney Episodes, the only thing missing is a Pokemon, but don't fret, Episode 6 is here today; I had it, good bye and good riddance.
The Last of Us: Look for the Light (2023)
Jumped to the end
Why it was rushed? I don't understand, most chapters were, there wasn't much continuity or going through the process the game did, and only concentrated on the most drama-centric parts, instead of in the story telling, disappointing really, it's like reading a book and only going for the take-away; really not the purpose of the game. Looks like they wanted to make a quick buck in case it got cancelled or just greed; ironically the part 1 is the best story of the 2 parts: so if this was handled mediocre, I have no hope for the second part, that at game level was rejected 'coz it went for the drama, killed the main character, and went downhill from there; too bad this story telling 1 of the best of most games worth making a series about it and they blew it.
Yellowstone: The Sting of Wisdom (2022)
Survival of the unfitted? Weak people?
Hmmm, let's see how tough has worked out for you Mr. John Dutton: your wife, and son dead; your daughter is a "torpedo in the water" freak; your adopted-/stepson is a snake; your Hand Cowboy a killer like you, just because you disagree or just quit the job; you're miserable 99% of the time; your daughter is a traumatized Depressed psycho 99.99% of the time; you brand and enslave people under penalty of death if they don't. Even by being President of State, you can't find peace or love in what you're doing, you reject the love of a woman to hook up with a Vegan radical Activist.
So I'd say: tough hasn't work out for you, because it doesn't. There's a balance in life, where tough is part of it, not a way of life, otherwise, we wouldn't make things easier for us humans, with ever evolving designs of devices and tools, we'd be still living in caves, being tougher than you and your unsustainable way of life.
You're Murderous Criminal, tough? No, uncivil Fascism.
We need Beef, yes we need it, but having half the state of Montana for pasture is not good, a business that spends millions and doesn't get revenue is wrong, it needs a socially responsible sustainable price that should be negotiated with between the people and the producer and calculated in some economic equation to insert it in the National/General Economy.
Life Balance, Efficiency, Civility, Democracy, Meritocracy; and if people disagree there's parting way in peace and A Court Of Law. This is how you build a Civilization, where people can be happy and live in relative harmony and peace; your brutal ways, are not.
Downsizing (2017)
Great!
It tells a possibility of a story and a reality we face, introduces lots of stereotypes, as we have developed in society, people don't like it and dislike and give low score to this great movie, that gives as a unique perspective on Sustainability and hint us to do way more and way better. I don't give it a 10 because, it's a bit unrealistic and perspective fails on some points and is Latino-biased, and targets as a the only race that would live in slums, ignoring all race-oriented neighborhoods, have also poor parts.
This movie applies realism, the wicked human nature and optimism, care and responsibility, human decency, honest behavior and a path to follow, so for me is a 9 and won't be any less.
Blonde (2022)
This is a fake Biography, it was a fictional original play
Obviously, based on Marilyn life; it was a cheap spin off of it; expected to sell well even when it was so cheaply made and vulgarly exploited, originally; this remake isn't any better. This is the sad state of the film art today: do whatever it takes to bring the targeted audience to a theatre to get as much money as possible. This film should be sued and obligated to state: It's a fake biography of Marilyn Monroe, a fictional spin off, to exploit what she was popular about her, and not what she really felt, experienced or wanted from life; it's a vulgar simplistic representation with the sole purpose of exploit her public image and capitalize on it as much as possible; yes, we're Capitalist pigs and we don't care to smear the great public image of a film icon, to get money, we're miserable buttholes, and we're sorry, because saying that we're sorry, makes it all OK in today's hypocrite and morally fraudulent World.
The Founder (2016)
Horrible example of Unregulated Capitalism glorified
Moronic simpleton losers like the Michael Keaton Character, that went Greedy, trying to take what wasn't his but legally and make it bad money making mechanism. McDonald's Restaurants throw away perfectly good burgers every 30 secs. If they're not served, highly wasteful, greasy and unhealthy by today's standards. And what she widow did with the money? Salvation Army+Charties; literally BS, probably someone pocket +1.5B never to see by poor people really, and covered by paperwork, never to see receipts of expenditure on poor people. This is exactly why things get expensive and people loser economic and other types of freedom.
This Is Us: Family Meeting (2022)
This is it
IMO The whole series was about this moment: To Love Responsibly: even when all odds were against us: Randal the underdog black adopted orphan kid vs the natural adversary the semi-entitled white kid, natural son, the white daughter girl with overweight and self-esteem problems with learning problems 'coz mom dropped on her head as an infant; so pretty much the average people anywhere will be ID with any of the characters in the series, as it was portrayed and the name indicates so; and yet, the lesson is: never give up, something good will give in and you'll get your day in the Sun: we all have a role to play in Society, no exeptions. This is us.
It move me to tears inevitably, it touched too close to home; for me was a message: we can't be loved exactly as we need, deserve or want to, just as is possible, and within possibility: the probability of getting it as much, and as long as we can, which unfairly, is neither always, as it should be; but we must always try to make the best out of every crumb of love or good relationship we're fortunate enough to encounter in our walk of life. My mom is 70+ and has started to forget some things and losing her eyesight and hearing; breaks my heart seeing her vanish a piece daily, like their mom, but fortunately not with a disease, just old age, so I hugged her and started to cry, for failing to love her unless it was on my terms or as I think I deserved, 'coz fair!... Love isn't about fairness, love is about a deep need to care and protect, the goodness and tenderness, of the people we love, despite our imperfect way of loving each other. The fact that we're imperfect at Love, it makes the act of loving, ever more subtly noble, wise, brave and beautifully tolerant; all these, increases the value our love and understanding of each other, for a harmonious coexistence.
Let's all try to accept our imperfections, differences and weirdness and love each other for the quality of persons that we are, not by foolish prejudice, because we're all complementary to each other; that's the nature of the Universe, and if you believe that a God(s) made the Universe, then its functioning is indeed Their Word, hence the Natural Order, we have to be wise enough to recognize it, in each of us.
1) Truth, is the only thing we should seek
2) Love is Wise, Hate is Foolish
- Message to future generations, Bertrand Russell.
Halo (2022)
Well, I liked it, a lot, exept for some Physics violations
Computers have extensive GPU and Software Physics models that can be used to generate it. Nvidia PhysiX is famous to support video games, and in this series they should had made perfect simulations.
To those "Shakespeares" wannabes, that try to write with formal words so their over-demanding reviews have some validity, but yet not having a clue about punctuation or written expression, just cliches that explain nothing, just constant disapproval and whining, go back to your video games and stay there, you already have a series in your heads, so part ways and be happy. Want the "real thing" make a GoFundMe project to call for modelers in Blender and POV-Ray, Unreal Engine and make a 3D CGI version of it and/or a modded Halo game and make the whole Novel and game Lores happen, monetize in YouTube, and cut the spoils among the participants; or something of the kind, stop whining so much.
I only played half of the first mission of Halo 1, it was Boring, slow, really unattractive to me, didn't care for the rest of the game, or the series, just shooting things, not much storyline. Compared to that, this Series is really good, it was realistically made, as much Hollywood does SciFi, and I don't expect much from it.
Although I once I watched a Halo, short series, written by a guy, posted on a Blog, only a few people accessed over the years, I was 1 of them, and it moved me to tears, as humble it was made in a modded Halo game; the dialog was golden, much better that the dry and short, robotic monotonous cliché ones of the series. They should have hired that guy for the dialogs. He was a Halo fan, and clearly knew Halo storyline. There was no shooting much, it was more of a character development, and conversations with Cortana; 2 too short seasons, but full of epic moments and dialog, movie quality. Can't find that series, I hope someone can locate it, and make it Season 2 or 3 of this series; this was like 10 years ago.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
The Matrix 4 Budget Resurrection
Yes, because they had to Resurrect some budget from somewhere to make a so lackluster version: recycling most of the trilogy, and not putting more to an original storyline; if you don't know much about computers ask computer experts fans of SciFi and The Matrix, ask the public, but not this mediocre attempts to do a The Matrix sequel, it sucked at some parts, brilliants at others, unexplained Neo power's failure... he was old and tired, because for sure looked that way. This was a Golden Ticket Opportunity and they blew it, sad and disappointing. And The Catrix? Really?
Dune: Part One (2021)
Where is the rest of the sotryline?
2:26:00 movie and you didn't get tot half of the story line, wow what a mediocre attempt; you'd need at least 3 more movies, that show more than the bare minimum.
Nightflyers (2018)
1 of the Cheapest Sci-Fi
To had they didn't had the budget nor the imagination to make a good movie, there's always the "psychosis" BS, I saw E07, going all the way to e10 just to see how this mess ends. If you want a good Sci-Fi series, don't bother with this one.
Love Is Blind (2020)
Scripted, fake reality
They hired actors to follow some BS scripted "reality" to sell the drama, this is a tendency that not only ruins the artistic effort but the credibility and reputation of the entertaining industry.
Below Deck Mediterranean: It's Not Easy Being Green (2021)
This season just shows what both series are really about: exploiting the caring good nature of the audiencef
They hire the most stupid, lazy, spoiled, conceited crybabies they can find, that can pass for aspiring yacht crew and put them together for the show, clearly non of this losers belong in any job really. Also they get the most horrible, shallow buttholes for guests they can find so both clash dramatically, for the drama sake, because that sells: audience worrying if they'd make it. They make this without any care but to sell the show, keep it "interesting" and continue recycling the idiocy in every season.
I have lost respect and interest for both series: this is the last episode I'm ever gonna watch of any of them.
Freakonomics (2010)
A necessary mistake
Really bad diagnostic and attempts to fix the economy and what's wrong with people in society, lazy and clueless, from a very narrow, capitalist, and naive and ignorant perspective and knowledge about people and their reality. But people make mistakes trying to learn, that's called training, and that'0s what these people did: they trained themselves in trying to understand a forest by looking carefully at the leaves and the little bugs on them from certain trees, but they conclude that they clearly seen the forest; at least they're trying.
"Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try Again. Fail again. Fail better."
- Samuel Beckett.
Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)
Original and interesting
An alternative story, really good the parts where they make it realistic, in every possible way, too bad the other movies where John Connor exists are bad stories and the effects are cheap and dumb; this movie should have been the pattern to take and make good ones. I enjoyed it immensely.
The Girlfriend Experience: Deep Fake (2021)
Really bad: A whole lot of holes
Just like the COVID-19 leaves a body when it's killed, look like the pandemic has attacked art too. Depp fake, great title for the 3rd Season, fits.
This is an elegant disguise for the mediocrity this season writing style is based on.
The idea of the series is exploring female prostitution in current times, expensive in the series motivation, but not necessarily, the writers failed miserably to capture the implications and experience; what a waste of time. At this point I have watched the 3rd episode too, as a last chance to make any sense of the great previous 2 season, but not even a shred of evidence that the inept writers have a clue what the hell they're doing.
