Black Bird (2022)
Pathetic scumbag takes down incel story
Basically a drug-dealing, scumbag snitch takes down a pathetic, mentally-challenged incel. Never once did they convince me Larry was even capable of his crimes even though I'm sure he was, but they did sell me on Jimmy being just another rich, pretty-boy, spoiled brat getting away with sh#t. Springfield is not even a bad place to go. Inmates actually TRY to get transferred there. They try and make it look like the worst prison ever in this scarey-tale. To try and make you sympathetic to the drug-dealing scumbag, they toss in a sick father and evil guard. The fact that this is actually based on a true story takes points away from it to me. It's written by the drug dealing, scumbag snitch, and I can't help wondering what a auto biographical movie by Ma Barker or Charlie Manson might look like. Anyway, people love simpleton prison crap so give it a watch.
The Man Who Fell to Earth (2022)
Very good series! Shocked at the ratings
It's insane that this show is ranked so low. Every about it is high premium cable quality, acting, writing, production. I am assuming not that many people know about it except people offended because it's not exactly like the movie, but who knows the actual reasons.
Swimming with Sharks (2022)
Not The Same Theme As Original Movie
This is nothing like the original movie starring Kevin Spacey which was about a Hollywood monster turning an innocent dreamer into another Hollywood monster. This is the exact opposite. It's more like THE TEMP or SINGLE WHITE FEMALE (i.e. Intern from hell).
Not sure why you would do that to this theme, but if you know that it's not totally terrible, though it is choppy and cryptic with not much character development.
Fresh (2022)
Decent Movie
Very dark comedy/horror movie along the lines of Saw. Yes, I believe Saw was a comedy/horror. Some people take these things very serious (like the people who think Democrats eat babies). Not for kids. Great early twist. Could have had more unexpected twists near the end. If you like twisted sh#t, you should like this movie, or at least think it was worth the watch.
American Underdog (2021)
Sentimental Garbage
I couldn't get through the entire movie and I love football. I can see why certain people like this, but it's way too wholesome and sentimental, making it excruciatingly boring. It's NOT Rudy, Brian's Song, North Dallas Forty, or even The Program. I know the Kurt Warner story and he and The Rams have as much to do with The Tom Brady Legacy as Drew Bledsoe did. Brady is the real American Underdog. This movie is just a yawn.
The Unforgivable (2021)
Weak Script
Not sure why people are raving about this movie. The script is really weak if you care about details. It's Hollywood once again writing about things they don't know about and creating characters that are functional when the situation needs them to be and broken down beaten wrecks when the story needs that. The premise itself doesn't make sense just because of the timeline and legal issues that would not allow for characters of these ages to have these conflicts. Not to mention, the "much too" clever reveal that is supposed to make the main character seem so noble could actually be argued is quite the opposite and is actually worse on the character it is supposed to be saving, and thus even more messed up than what the audience is supposed to have been thinking all along. Movie could actually spawn a sequel just for the therapy section. It's a watchable movie, but that's about all.
Mayor of Kingstown (2021)
Really silly stuff
The plot in episode 3 doesn't even make sense. Can't understand why the main character is even needed or why law enforcement would want the deal they insist on. The acting is heavy handed and everything is a big deal. There are no subtleties whatsoever. Even the imagery metaphors are heavy handed. Sometimes I laugh at stuff that's supposed to be considered bad or brutal. I think the creator should stick to shows writing stuff where cowboys fall in love with their horses.
Dexter: New Blood (2021)
Boring and predictable
There's nothing at all new to New Blood. It's pretty much Dexter still going on seasons too long past it's time up, but now it has much weaker supporting characters and much lazier writing.
For Example, without creating too much of a spoiler, Dexter's first kill is done too someone that was clearly and loudly put there just for that reason but the lazy writers didn't even take time to have Dexter stalk him with his usual skills. Instead he acts impulsively, which I realize was the plan, but the victim would never have been acting that way without his usual audience, the moment didn't even allow it, and what if he had been acting in a believable plot unfolding? Would Dexter had still acted impulsively?
I don't expect much from this arduous overkill, and I can already feel that's exactly what I'm going to get. I think most people agree that Dexter peaked with the death of Rita, and it was spectacular up to that point. Now, it's over, done and dead. Put a fork in it already.
Maid (2021)
Excellent Writing
Not even the type of show I would have normally watch but the writing is so OUTSTANDING. Great casting and acting from everyone as well. Just a really great piece of work.
Dune: Part One (2021)
Awesome Film; Awesome Director
This guy is a really great director, especially for these types of films but even going back to Sicario, he is just brilliant with mood, atmosphere and environment. I had zero expectations for this film and no interest in seeing it until I did. Love David Lynch, but his Dune was horrible, and I wasn't very thrilled with those television series adaptions. This film, though, has put Dune on my list of great science fiction films. Solid acting. Solid script. I really hope this director gets to do the 2nd half. Now I do have expectations.
Invasion (2021)
Absolutely Boring
You'd have to be a brain dead zombie from some Amish community that doesn't have theaters or televisions to have read this script and think this was worth making. They owe you money even if you got to watch this for free.
The Many Saints of Newark (2021)
Pretty Decent Sopranos Prequel
It's really the Dickie Molasanti story, but the twist is great and all the actors do great versions of the younger characters. Unlike most movies done for these premium cable series, this wasn't just filler space. Best premium cable movie that came out of a successful series yet. Not as good as the series of course, but who actually expected that? Very underrated in the ratings. I can only assume most viewers were not fans of the series and knew very little about it.
Nine Perfect Strangers (2021)
First World Drivel
A filthy rich people with problems get together for new age help, and I'm not sure whether you're supposed to believe the resolutions are possible or not. Either way, it's a real effort to sit through 8 episodes of this tedious crap. I can't help feeling a lot of the scenes had to be redone because the actors couldn't keep a straight face. There are much better ways to waste 8 hours of your life.
Old (2021)
Total Garbage
I can't believe this guy still gets to make films. I know Sixth Sense was a near masterpiece, but please... More filmmakers have been forced out of the business for far less abortions than this guy makes. I realize he hasn't been caught grabbing an ass or anything, but you still need more than that.
I can't get into details without killing this review with spoilers, but trust me, you're better off entertaining yourself with shadow puppets. Don't say I didn't warn you. I gave it a very generous 3 because the lighting was professional and the actors spoke in clear sentences.
Home Before Dark (2020)
Starts out entertaining
First season is pretty humorous and entertaining with some little kid causing grief to all these adults, but by the end of the second season, it's gotten pretty tedious with every adult in town being a complete idiot and logic being thrown out the window to make the kids look smarter than they need to be in this backwards community.
The Suicide Squad (2021)
Directors Matter
All I can say is, what a difference a director makes. I hated the first sequel, and though I am probably being generous with an 8, still a great movie I would watch again. Not as good as Guardians, but I am more of a Marvel than DC fan even though I am starting to get sick of Marvel movies. GOOD WATCH.
Jolt (2021)
Lacking Everything Except Money
This is a where all the money went into the production design for a look that doesn't actually fit the film's storyline. It could have used a director, writer and especially a casting director because their was zero chemistry between any of the actor's in this film. It thought it was funny and slick, but it was neither of those things. This has all been done before by people who know what they are doing (check out John Wick if you like this stuff).
American Horror Stories: Rubber (Wo)man: Part Two (2021)
Not horror at all
This was the most pathetic horror story I've ever seen in my life. I think they were trying to do comedy, but even that didn't work. It was more like a bad love story. I guess you can only run a series so long before you lose focus.
Physical (2021)
Can't believe the low rating!
I can't believe this has such a low imdb rating. I watched the first 3 episodes and am hooked. It's dark and twisted just enough so far. Hope it stays this good and earns a 2nd season.
Blue Ruin (2013)
Another Good One From This Director
Yeah, this director is very good in the violent films department. Love finding out about new directors with this kind of talent. I actually should have heard of him before this. This movie isn't as well made as his Green Room, but the script actually has more substance, kind of like the Mad Max and Road Warrior situation where the director got better with a second film, but the script was a lot simpler. Anyway, you should definitely see this if you like films like Cape Fear and the original Straw Dogs.
Green Room (2015)
Great Scorcese style violence
If you're into violent movies, this is a really great movie. It's got the tone of Cape Fear or the original Straw Dogs. It's Scorcese style violence as opposed to Die Hard or Tarentino style. Every moment is threatening actual dire consequences and the acting is incredible. I'm not sure there is a lot to the movie for people not into this sort of thing, but for what it is, it is Oscar worthy.
The Mosquito Coast (2021)
Boring
A boring execution with annoying unlikable characters.

Domina (2021)
Gets pretty good by end
Starts out the first couple episodes and looks like it's going to be some millennial thing for the CW, but then it gets pretty good. Historical femme fatale material, but of course they have to make her less vicious and give her a cause being the woke era and all. Still pretty good though since she is one of the more overlooked historical women and there is a lot of story left if they continue on until her end. They could get a good 3 or 4 seasons out of this at least at the pace they are going and still keep things alive.
A Teacher (2020)
Simp meets hot teacher
Basically simp meets emotionally messed up hot teacher and neither can deal with it. Interesting but not engaging.
