Under the Bridge (2024)
Way too long
This was a fascinating story about peer pressure and bullying that should have been told in a more consise manner.i think you can skip the four middle episodes and still understand the whole story. It embellishes a romantic story between the reporter and the lead police officer that has no bearing on the story whatsoever. If fact it drags the story to a stop trying to create a relationship that didn't exist. There is nothing worse than watching two characters have a romantic relationship but no chemistry. On the plus side, the young actors are terrific. It's an horrific story that plays out in a small town where I'm sure everyone says it couldn't happen here. For that reason it's worth watching just get ready to fast forward.
The Crown: Willsmania (2023)
Snoozefest
They definitely ran out of material after season 5. And even that is a stretch. The royal family after Diana is really boring. The only excitement is Harry and I cannot imagine they'll go too deep into that relationship with the partnership Netflix has with those two. This series would ha been much better if they had spent more time in the fifties and sixties and delved into the events that really transformed the nation instead of stretching out the Diana story. The Diana story could have been handled in one or two episodes instead of four. We all knew the aftermath would be sad but I've had more thrilling root canals.
FBI: Sins of the Past (2023)
Disappointing ending
Why disparage an NYPD officer at the end of this episode? What was the point. It's really hard to believe that one good friend would turn on another after serving together after 9/11. And to add insult to injury, the officer's wife's is dying of cancer. Of course, there was overreaction after 9/11 but to say a cop dangled and dropped a man off the roof with no evidence that he was a terrorist is very far fetched. It's an attempt at revisionist history. It also seemed like it was an unnecessary subplot to the main story. Maybe we should have a refresher course for screenwriters on what the country was like shortly after the towers fell.
Alaska Daily (2022)
Bad episode
This series has been very good up until this episode. Basically it had nothing to do with the story line. It seems the writers had to inject their climate change and fake news into the story somehow. Even the actors seemed bored with the content. They all were sleep walking though the episode. They had fellow employee being held at gunpoint and they had to take a vote to call the police. I think she should be looking fo a new job. Then when she's rescued they tell her that she is family, one fellow employee brags about staying there the whole night. And they wonder why everyone hates the media.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (2017)
Season 4 Train Wreck
Why is everyone yelling? It's become unwatchable. I watched both episodes and kept waiting for it to get interesting instead it was just a bunch of great comedic actors get more and more annoying. I'm done.
