Dota: Dragon's Blood (2021)
Mediocre
I'm always amazed nowadays as to what is regarded as "good" series.
If it isn't "flashy" it's bad, and as long as it's flashy, nothing else seem to matter.
I found this show mediocre at best. The design choises and fantasy feel of the show is great, but the animations are meh, the acting is meh, the story is confusing and there's no explaination of anything, you're just supposed to buy everything thing.
There's a lot of cool characters introduced, but there's no background info, no character development, no depth at all. I guess if you played DOTA, and know it's lore, you don't need further explaining, but for someone who don't, the show just feels shallow.
PS. This isn't anime, it's made by americans/south koreans...
The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers (2021)
Mediocre at best
The Mighty Ducks has lost its soul.
This is nothing like the original. The series is incredible corny and cliché, and both the manuscript and acting is so bad, like everything's just so unbelievable too. AND, all the hockey scenes are just cheap, like you can tell nobody knows how to skate.
Disney also added the coach to the list of grown-up babies, together with Luke from SW.
There're some feel good parts about it sure, but overall the series is just not good...
Gekijôban Kimetsu no yaiba: Mugen Ressha hen (2020)
Nice animations, but very corny and cliché
What a pointless movie!
Fanboys, get your lube ready, this movie got some amazing animations, everything else: not so amazing... and corny as ever.
This movie could have been a 25min-episode if they didn't draw the fights out to infinity. Can't believe this went on for two hours.
Only point in watching this is if you only value cool animations, seriously.
Summary: Get on train, fall asleep, fight slimy things, watch Rengoku being badass, END.
The Invitation (2015)
Boring
Short summary:
A whole lot of nothing till the last 10-15 minutes, which in all honesty weren't that remarkable either.
Kimetsu no Yaiba (2019)
Extremely overrated
Art & Animation: The art isn't that good tbh, but the animation department did a really good job on this one. Maybe a bit too much CG for my taste though. The characters look cool, but there's not much detail.
Sound: Nothing special, didn't strike me as either good nor bad. The opening theme was nice.
Story: A real train wreck. There're humans, there're demons, and there're demon slayers. Those are the basics other than that they don't really explain anything in this show, they just state ridiculous facts. Why some humans are ridiculously strong? They got the correct breathing techniques. Right... Only swords made of a special ore can kill demons, a bit like silver but you also need to decapitate them. Also there's people (and cats, even ghosts) appearing from nowhere all the time. There's backstory on most demons they slay, like anybody cares, right? I'm not exactly sure what story this show wants to tell.
Character: The protagonist was fine, except for maybe the part where he forgot about his family being slaughtered fairly quickly. Besides him, there's quite a few cool looking characters, but they are all really cliché and shallow. All the Hashira (the strongest demon slayers) are basically one-trait robots and probably lacking a brain. Then we have the obnoxious friends: Zenitsu and Inosuke, literary always screaming. One is constantly afraid and screaming, the other only thinks about fighting and screaming, this gets exhausting fast. There's little logic in any action any character takes except for the protagonist. Also the manuscript is super basic, nothing interesting being said, mostly feels like forced dialogue.
Value: I would skip more than half of the episodes and just watch the good (fighting) parts, so I guess there's not much rewatch value really. I'd only recommend it to hardcore shounen fans.
Entertainment: I enjoyed the action episodes, everything else was pretty weak. The comedy parts in particular are ridiculously bad. The show seems to target an older audience with all the blood, torture and decapitations, but the comedy seems to target kids in preschool.
Summary: It became clear to me after watching this show that the only trait that the average watcher these days care about is cool animations. People praising episode 19 made me think I was in for a real big twist, but it was only a few good fight scenes, not even that impressive. Was very dissatisfied with this show overall, it felt like it atleast could've been so much better if they only kept the serious parts and didn't do any comedy.
After Life (2019)
Only watch season 1
The first season was amazing, really funny for starters, laughed a lot, and it was also nice to see the main character try and grow out of his depression. It felt really genuine and the manuscript were good.
Season 2 however was very disapointing. The jokes are gone, the main character is only spreading goodness, which mostly feel cringe to be honest. Didn't laugh out loud a single time. This season felt posy all together.
