The Circle: Cake Me as I Am (2022)
Perfect Choice!
Love this show and so happy for another season. I am also so happy this contestant was eliminated the first week. I was not a fan of them. Hope all enjoys the season.
Nice One! (2020)
Funny Show - Wish it were a little less scripted
I think the idea of this show is great. I love comedy/roast battle shows and I'm a huge Ron Funches fan. I just wish the "rounds" were more realistic? Kind of the wrong word, it feels like their answers/jokes were already written out for them, where I wish it felt more improvised, like they thought of them on the spot. Anyway, I enjoyed. The guests were really good.

Hidden Chocolate Molds - Yes Please!
I love all GBBO episodes but this one had to get a review because I absolutely love the chocolate mold with hot sauce Show Stopper Challenge. It was awesome. I've never seen one of these in the US and it was so cool. Great show and episode!
The Netflix Afterparty (2020)
Lights Out 2.0. Really Funny!
This is basically Lights Out with David Spade, version 2. I really liked Lights Out so I was really happy to see Netflix create this new series. I've never heard of London Hughes before but she was really funny. I'm a huge Fortune Feimster fan and watch everything Netflix puts out so this show is perfect for me. Not sure if every one will like it but I enjoyed the guests they had and the banter between them. He does need some better writers or jokes for his opening monologue. Being the 1st show, hopefully that will get better. If you liked Lights Out or late night shows, I would recommend. Really hoping Netflix keeps it around.
Dry Bar Comedy: Bengt Washburn: Poking a Grizzly (2017)
How have I not seen him before?
I am a stand-up comedy junkie, feel like I've seen every special I can find but I have never heard of Bengt Washburn. I am so happy I found this special (couple years late) because he is one of the funniest, smartest comedians I've seen. Funny on a bunch of different topics, self-depreciating and a really intelligent set. Very appealing for all types and ages. Awesome special!
John Mulaney: The Comeback Kid (2015)
One of the Best Stand Ups
Love stand-up, but usually prefer an edgier type (Bill Burr, Lenny Bruce, Doug Stanhope) but this is one of the funniest specials I have seen. The Bill Clinton bit was hilarious. Every joke just hit, especially about being raised. "My Dad loved us, he just didn't care about our happiness or self-esteem"...I don't know if it was because I related to so much, but my sides hurt this was so good. Definitely a 10/10.
Devil, Get the Heck Outta Here! (2020)
Straight Up Funny!
I love stand up. My favorite comedians - Bill Burr, Doug Stanhope & Lenny Bruce. If you know these comedians you should understand my favorite type of humor - dark, sarcastic, crude basically. I had never heard of Cleto Rodriguez and there wasn't much info on the special but that didn't stop me from tuning in. This special surprised me when it started with a religious singer and I almost turned it off since I am not religious at all. But instead of being immediately judgemental, I said "give it a try" and I'm really happy I did. The singer and entire group was actually quite beautiful and did great. Cleto came on after a couple songs and was extremely funny. Some religious material, but it was actually some of the funniest parts of the show. Again, not the typical type of comedian I like but his set was so smart and interesting that all that mattered was that he was funny. If you like clean comedians, he has to top the list. If you find clean comics boring - give Mr. Rodriguez a chance to change your mind.
Growing Belushi (2020)
Funny but totally scripted
I tuned in not really knowing what to expect. Immediately you can see it is totally scripted in a reality show type of way and every one is playing to the camera. But at the same time, I found it really funny. Jim basically plays a goofy guy trying to run his marijuana business and show his love of marijuana. Is it a documentary or showing you how to run a marijuana business - not at all. If you want something light to watch with everything going on in the world, and are interested in just seeing beautiful trees (pot), grow rooms and dispensaries with Jim's comedy on the side, you will enjoy it. Not for everyone, but not bad none the less.
Broke (2020)
Funny for a Prime Time Series
I'm not sure why all the low ratings but every one is different. For me, this show is very funny. I am bias in that I am a Natasha Leggero fan. As for Pauley Perrette, her character on NCIS made me dislike her (that smart cutsie goth chick type character-Ugh). On this show, I find her very funny. All of the actors are really good and the writing is sweet and sarcastic. It's prime time and I think we've gotten spoiled by real drama and comedies (aka - Netflix, Hulu, etc.) where you can really tell a story. If your on a major network, you have to play it safe and air stuff for the "Won't someone think about the children" types. I hope they renew it, it's light, funny and enjoyable.
Hand of God (2014)
Excellent Show and Superb Acting
I was really surprised to see the negative reviews from the reviewers and Rotten Tomatoes. Of course, no show is right for every one, that is why we has thousands of different shows to watch but for me, this was a great show. Continued to keep my attention and made me want to watch the next episode immediately. Wonderful work from Ron Perlman and Dana Delaney (and I'm not a huge fan of hers). The supporting cast were very good as well.
I will admit there are parts of the show that drift off, are derivative and just all-around don't make sense, but those are small. In the end, the show is compelling, interesting and an excellent series.
It's a shame, there will be no season 3, it deserves it.
