Seumuldaseot Seumulhana (2022)
A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND RESOURCES.
Total waste of time, a scenario that leads nowhere and has big problems with the realities of those times. Including behavioral ones but also historical errors. First of all, in 1996, when the chat conversation started, the internet had less than 150 thousand users in Korea (out of 50 million) and PCs cost as much as a Tico car, but the daughter of poor people had a PC and internet🤣🤣 . Moreover, another family was making video calls at an internet cafe in 1997 (a 2Mp image took a few minutes to upload via email, but they were making duplex video before Win98). And the fencing teacher used to come to the same internet cafe to play StarCraft ... a year before its appearance. Another ingredient is Korean bullying (at school, in front of school, at work and even in the media). But, leaving the ridiculous errors aside, we have a story without a logical end for the main couple, that is, exactly those who had the approval and support of everyone, the house, jobs. With a copy of the girl's journey inspired by "Definetely, Maybe", whose mother becomes a carpenter!!!.. from fencing champion. The only logic in everything that was filmed seems to be the promotion of the soundtrack and the evolution of the secondary roles. They were probably aiming for the award for the slowest leading male role, I have no other explanation. For the production, a great waste of talent of the actors and the filming team, and for the viewers it is a huge waste of time.
Cheolinwanghoo (2020)
Entertainment, from start to end
It does exactly what it should do, that is, the entertainment that is the balance in the daily stress. It sounds bombastic, but very few productions manage to do that. It's mostly a comedy, less so in the last episodes when it almost succumbs to the kdrama template. However, it remains good until the end. I don't know how much was scripted and how much was unscripted, but it has everything. And a talented cast, with the gorgeous and well-known Shin Hye-Sun, in a complex role, played magnificently. Seol In-Ah, although she has a serious role, she is also wonderful. Surprisingly, even Kim Jung-Hyun saves us from the annoying make-up (in other productions) and manages to do a good role. The production is a fantasy genre and it is a comedy, that is how it should be taken. A good job, until the end, one of the shows worth seeing. Seriously, the geniuses at Netflix took it out of Europe, and they only do that with the good shows that are worth watching.
Yibeon Saengdo Jal Butakhae (2023)
That was a good one, but short
A series based on a webtoon. And this means that the scenario will have a strange course and end in the tail of the fish. That is, unclear and sudden. As for originality, yes, it's an authentic Korean production, by the book, which includes the inevitable: rich man + beautiful and competent girl (main couple) rich heiress + working boy (second lead couple), manipulations and behind-the-scenes games in conglomerates -checked, the solution a crime from the past, reincarnation, love of 1000 years. All this, served with the garnish of intensive and sometimes ridiculous product placement, but this is the Korean specificity, the sponsors make the production possible and pay for the team's work. Although it has all the elements of banality, it was still pleasant to watch, because it was well made. Shim Hye-sun is both beautiful and very good as an artistic ability, through the versatility of interpretation. And the other actors play well, and it was surprising that there was more naturalness than exaggerated drama (thanks to the director for not serving us this). However, the last episode is so crowded and the ending is left unclear. One of the productions that would have deserved at least 2 more episodes.
Mai Demon (2023)
Grear actors in a weak story and direction
Great actors can't save everything. A wonderful Kim Yoo Jung, who, although young, has acting in her blood since she was a child actor, does everything she can in the conditions of a story full of holes and unsuccessful advertising. Even for the fantasy genre, the script and direction are too bad. Guiding the supporting actors to exaggerate is a big directing mistake, given that it's about people in costume, not peasants. The story is far too long, sickly obsessed with Christmas, Christmas on repeat, Christmas leftovers, torture and food. Average special effects, which would have been successful, if there were not so many statics and replays. Material of 8 episodes, extended to 16 episodes. Too bad for the actors, at least in the BHE filming, they had fun.
Hwan Hon (2022)
A 90% historical fantasy and 10% parody drama.
It's a show, which means the work of the writers, director, team and actors. And this show wants to be a fantasy drama, like shaorma with everything. The story, although in a fantastic world, has all kinds of carelessness in the writing. It's not really a wedding if there's no ceremony, but the heroine can walk alone in the forest with someone else😂. And other. Which is different from the intentional stupidity of some characters. Oh, yes, and here is the cliché of the guy who longs for someone else's woman and is left without one, only they didn't use the actor specialized in this role (usually Lee SY) but a much weaker one. It's about the role of Seo Yul, the worst played. Many static scenes, which is a joke for the viewers' time, another mistake of the director. Otherwise, it's a really good production, with the rest of the talented actors, a very good camera work and special effects and a successful soundtrack. Even a fantasy historical drama contains alcoholism and cosmetics 😂, this is to make it clear that it is a Korean production, but it is more bearably injected. Overall, a job well done.
Good Morning-Call: Guddo môningu kôru (2016)

It should have been a comedy, like high school. But the stupidity is taken to the extreme, much exaggerated. Something like "Girls with balls" without blood. Besides that, films with autistic people are works of art, and that is a disability with proper documents. Short skirts and uniforms suggest high school students, but not even throwing in a few mature lines, does not cancel the kindergarten level. Very poorly written, and very poorly directed, the characters are exaggerated, so I suspect that neither the director nor the writer are in their right mind. Even for Japan, or especially, if we take into account the culture of respect for personal space and private life in contrast to the baggy intrusiveness of roles. For a modern and theoretically intelligent society, it is dystopian. To maintain mental health, it is recommended to avoid viewing. The good part was a clear confirmation for Netflix subscription cancelation.
Welkeomtu Samdal-ri (2023)
Initially, it was 10*, but the direction and the writing are deteriorating, annoyingly.
It had started very well, one of the few series more outdoor and with more normal people, landscapes, colors. Initially, I appreciated that the obsessive theme of the chaebol heir and the poor girl is not in the foreground. Of course, the writer could not help himself, but at least it is modified and moved to secondary roles. However, the humor begins to disappear, leaving the uncontrolled fantasy of the director and the writer free, which forces the actors to some pathetic interpretations. So exaggerated, that they bring to mind the Stalinist films and those of the northern neighbors. 10* for Shin Hye Sun, Kang Mi Na, Shin Dong Mi and Chang Wook. I hope to see them again in more successful productions. The directing and the dialogues are, however, in the lithosphere, and in episode 12 they tipped the scales towards the drop. One of the broken productions after a good start..if with a finished production, you can still rewind, here it's not worth the wait.
Qing wen hai you na li xu yao jia qiang (2023)
Humor, a little dark, but intense
Surprising. In recent years, Asian productions, no matter how beautiful the actors and scenery, repeat the same stories and themes, in different scenarios. Only this is different. The theme of the gangster and the honest girl, who is actually not really a gangster and the girl is not really a saint😉 is brilliantly approached by the director. The intense and very bold humor is mixed with tragedy, which is not really a tragedy either if you pay attention. I was surprised by the mixture of drama, not knowing the language, I couldn't associate it with a typical Asian cinema. Only after I finished it did I find out that it was Taiwanese. Attention, it must be followed until the end of the screentext with credits, otherwise you miss the real ending and...😂.
Naje Ddeuneun Dal (2023)
The hypocrisy of showbiz does not even forgive a poltergeist
A daring production. The cinematography is not extraordinary, but the story and acting are excellent. Basically a drama about Kdrama and the falsity of the image of idols. Once again, the hypocrisy of the Korean public is brought to the screen, a large part of the script being about how celebrities manage to give the pack the image they want. Special attention to details, including the endorsement of soju brands, sweets, vehicles, locations. No cosmetics this time.
The inevitable drink until you drop, which stimulates alcohol sales, then those of hangover cures😂, the media's profit from the scandal at the expense of celebrities, manipulation, etc.
Not even a poltergeist and a firefighter escape from them. The story, quite well written... until episode 12. When it makes the characters, smart and agile, become like in silly movies, many frames with blank stares, the acting becomes theatrical, Until then, it would have been 10 *.
Doona! (2023)
Probably the worst script of 2023
Out of respect for the cast, I lasted 5 episodes. However, patience, goodwill and trying to understand what the writer and the director wanted to express, in fact, is not art, but only the illogical result when someone is under the influence. In short, the male character, a kind of virgin engineer monk, good at math, has two women who want him, a future engineer and a kpop star, whom he doesn't even introduce to his family. However, he brings home one of the three vamps of the faculty. Where it can be seen that neither the director nor the writer have a clue about the exact sciences. And if the goal was to represent the mental problems in society... they demonstrated it very well. As for the ending, under these conditions, it is left unfinished... At least that's what I read from what those who managed to finish it wrote. Too bad for the actors, they deserved a better production.
Castaway Diva (2023)
Starts off weird, gets better with each episode
It's worth the time. A memorable production is the work of the actors, guided by the director and enhanced by the cameramen, sound engineers and editors, both they and the story. And here, that's what we have. The first episode is a kind of bibimbap, a mixture of fragments, which put me to sleep. Apparently, episode 2 is just as bland... until PARK EUN BIN starts singing. To be honest, I had already given up after the first episode and a half, the time of transmission in Europe contributing to that. After the music appeared on YT, I resumed watching and discovered that what seemed boring at the beginning begins to connect starting with episode 3, scene by scene. In short, the scenario is risky as a format but brilliant in how the crescendo format attracts your interest. After only 6 episodes, although transmitted gradually, 2 episodes per week, it is already in the top 10 worldwide on Netflix, competing with fully released productions. Without being anything ultra-original, it's a good work, for which everyone deserves thanks.
King deo raendeu (2023)
a cdrama with korean stars
If you are part of the herd, blindly obsessed with stars, then you blame the haters without seeing how badly this production is made. For those who saw the original from 2014, the production leaves the feeling of a counterfeit copy from the country that produces the jewelry advertised in it. If Yoona and JunHo, the professional grandmother, the professional old president, had not been cast, it would have been a total fiasco. Because: - it's terribly poorly written. - annoying with the insistence of product placement (Chinese jewelry for which the proposal scene was postponed, German cars, ramyun and others). Even scenes from other productions were copied, but inserted without inspiration. Which makes the direction bad. The editing is also, for the most part, deficient. Of course, as in these conditions, the acting of the actors seems to be at its best. For the level of Korean productions, the quality is terrible. Closer to Cinderella and Boss CDrama with Korean actors. Saved only by the fans' desire to see their beloved stars at the wedding.

Eternal theme with boss and cinderella copy of a copy of a copy
The traditional Chinese theme with the director and Cinderella and the rigorous intrigues.
Except that season 2 is not the sequel or even a spin off. It's exactly the same story, the same characters, the same actors, with a little less crime and mafia, without leukemia and with the main heroine already an actor and with diluted stupidity, probably the version for teenagers. A copy of his own drama, which is a copy of hundreds of other identical productions.
Nice actors, nice homes, nice landscapes but that's all. Everything else is standard, includding message of " go marry and make kids". Watched only because Netflix trick.
Strong Girl Nam-soon (2023)
Somehow funny, sometime
It's kind of...something. In the light category, action comedy series, a bit fantastic, with the inevitable love story. It wants to be a sequel to Strong Womans Do Bong Soon, and it even has a small cameo in ep.3 but...it's far from the first series. Lee Yoo-Mi is cute, especially when she plays with a Mongolian accent, and the image quality is much better than in the first series. This can also be from the alternative source, because the geniuses at Netflix removed the original from the European grid.
However, as a scenario, comic moments, even special effects, it is much more diluted than the original.
Until now, the "geniuses" at Netflix have only released the first 5 episodes, but if the screenwriter continues with the inspiration hangover, it will not compare to the one in 2017.
Yi Yeonaeneun Bulgahangryeok (2023)
Once again, the talented cast is not enough to save the script
It starts well, giving you the impression of a comedy, with the cast and a few scenes, but... that's about it. Bo Ah plays very well, as do the actors in the secondary roles, the classic scenes of the Korean romcom. That's what saves a ridiculous scenario a little, if it weren't annoyingly weak. Kim Ro Woon has a poorly written role, the garish make-up and exaggerated gestures accentuate the contrast with the rest of the characters, showing how weak the direction is. The story can be summed up as a mixture of the theme of reincarnation with that of the working girl and "the cold rich man, the bad, scheming and rich girlfriend" heavily injected with excessive alcohol consumption. Hope died and I stopped at the terrible episode 10.
Choi-kang Bae-dal-ggun (2017)
Easy to watch and entertaining.
A more realistic, more natural history, without exaggerations. The script is well written, distributing balanced enough interesting content in all the episodes, without falling into exaggerations. A bit of small business, stories of love, friendship, solidarity, with humor. The team of actors is made up of experienced veterans, but also young actors, at that time at the beginning such as Kim Seon Ho and others. Chae Soo Bin has a demanding role, in which he shows his talent to express different emotions, he goes from hardness and hopelessness in society, a bit of martial arts, strikes more or less delicately 😂, humor then reaches feelings and more feminine approaches than the beginning as an independent woman. Go Kyung-Pyo also does a good role, like everyone else. It's the series with the highest density of shining eyes on the screen, the cinematography would have had something to do with it😍. There would be many things to note, but the best is to see. It doesn't bore you, it doesn't keep you in suspense for nothing, it's the work of a team that does exactly what it has to do, to entertain the audience. For me, as a European, they succeeded.
Strangers (2023)
When a talented cast play a weak story
I watched this series because the cast is with actors who brought good mood even outside of Korea. However, the plot is weak. I don't know what it wanted to be as a genre. Comedy, too little, romantic...in a childish way. Rather educational, touching 21 century feminism. The story: a teenager becomes pregnant and gives birth to a daughter. Who becomes a police officer. Both have a tangent with men from the "simp" category. They flirt with them until they feel appreciated, after which they leave them and go around the world, as strong and independent women. Very educational😂😂😂.
The cast of experienced actors (SooYoung, the trio of famous grandmothers in Hometown Cha Cha Cha, the actors in the supporting roles) saves something from the boring scenario.

A very good job
A thing done very well, that's how this series can be described. The actors are very well chosen and do a wonderful job. A well-written script that suits the actors. Even if the theme was in the famous "meet Joe Black" the story is on another level, well dosed. In all the episodes, a little humor is sprinkled over the tragic background from time to time. The only discrepancy is the makeup of the male actors, which is unnecessarily gaudy. Filming, lighting, directing and editing show the excellent work of a team, which will remain even after people grow old. I'm not a fan of dramas, personally I prefer movies, but it deserves the thanks of the audience. After I started watching it, I'm already at episode 10 and there's little chance of disappointment, I recommend everyone to watch it. Despite the audience figures (from Korea) for the first broadcast, which seem strangely small.
Gangnam Zombie (2023)
Wasted time
The movie, unfortunately, is a disappointment. I was expecting something better, being a Korean movie. The Koreans have experience with special effects, zombie make-up, but...
The lights - well managed, although it doesn't seem difficult, it's still important.
The cameramen did a good job, the editing was reasonable.
The direction is ...let's say it looks like a beginner's. The script...extremely boring, banal and very poorly written. The play of secondary actors and extras, at any level.
Somehow, they tried to compensate through the main actors a bit of martial arts and Ji-Yeon's beauty, but... just like "with a flower, you don't make spring", even the main actors couldn't do miracles with a bad script and poor direction.
I don't remember having seen a weak (South) Korean movie before, this is probably the first.
