Terrifier (2016)
Pointless gorefest
If you're into slasher kind of movies, skip this one. It felt predictable from the start to the end. The whole plot felt really bland, like a rat infested building in the middle of a city, not in some remote place, which made immersion even harder.
The characters were all really run off the mil, except for the cart lady, who was memorable.
I appreciate the acting behind Art, but then again it's not stellar either.
Tons and tons and tons of gore, but boring gore. It was tasteless, just for the sake of it. I was not expecting Hannibal, but at least I didn't want to be left with a blank face. It felt like cheap shock.
I give it a 2 because Art's actor was okay, I liked the cart lady, and it made me chuckle once or twice.
John Wick (2014)
Great action movie
Story: okay. Nice premise. You know exactly what's going to happen since minute one but still enjoyable.
Characters: alright. It is what it is. Alfie Allen makes an annoying villain, which is what was intended. And Russian final boss was charismatic enough.
Acting: adequate. Keanu does his best and it's always really nice to see Ian McShane on anything.
Action: amazing.
I really loved the attention to detail in the handling of fire arms and the combat choreography. Keanu always delivers and makes for a more than believable stoic action hitman. Loved the intricacies of the in-world hitman business.
All in all, pretty solid action flick.
