[6.5] Inside the house, outside the box
When you have to watch and painfully go through 9 episodes with dozens of Jason(s) and countless scenes of Xanax-induced Daniela along with novice driver Charlie, you then need to choose the actors carefully. It was a pie in the a. To see those versions of Jason(s), uninteresting, dull and uneasy to the eyes. Learn from Amanda and Blair, Jason!
Aside that fact, a very interesting Apple Original TV series (as always) that should have been made as a limited one.
May destiny either "call off" season 2 or replace Jason and especially Daniela. When the beautiful actrice would ultimately learn to act like her 35 years ago self?!

The Ex-Wife (2022)
[6.2] Here, the ex-wife is entitled to everything
A somewhat uninteresting production, though nicely made "a la British", with good sometimes unrealistic acting, a weak storyline with average plots.
The series is not interesting story-wise cause it's unrealistic, watching it I just liked the acting and the score, beautifully setting the mood for it's worth.
It was better to film the two seasons together and offer it to viewers as one complete 8-part mini-series.

Supacell (2024)
[6.4] From now on, we do things my "way"
"8" for the setting, photography, development and the acting; "4" to "4.5" for the screenplay, storylines and plots. Even at super-speed the entertainment factor is not so great, with the worst character being that invisibility-induced-power gang thug leader.
Would have liked it to be something between the "Boys" and the "Misfits".
In a possible season 2 needs more tearing, graphic superpower versus "Rapman to choose" moments rather than an insipid, London-based, everyday teenagers+young adults' lives version of an unsuccessful 'Teen Wolf' mishmash, a series which by the way was teenishly good.
In short, doesn't know where it's headed. A little of this, a little of that equal mumbo No...

Hard Home (2024)
When mediocrity and sensation make a good mix
A semi well-made, "totally" bada@@ movie production that's at least entertaining, both the first half and the second more "adrenaline-pumping" one. For an presumable and expected low-budget production, it is more than acceptable; has its share of grief, sensation and revenge on a small scale.
The revenge part could have been more colorful and the ending was like "guys, let's finish up and go have a deserving lunch...".

The Watchers (2024)
[4.9] Inexpugnable mirror glass and ragdoll "watchers"
A mumbo jumbo of an intriguing screenplay, setup, with quite nice filming, photography and to some degree satisfying, but already seen visual and special effects.
In any production that I see Olwen Fouéré, I cannot but wonder how did she make it so far with that insipid wooden face and uninteresting acting?!
As much as Dakota Fanning was brilliant in her childhood acting, she unfortunately became one hell of a mannequin, faceless, "talentlessly" contrived actrice in her adulthood and this one movie is no exception.
M. Shyamalan as producer and his daughter as director, what can possibly go wrong, you'll ask. Under the prestigious "executives", we are offered an unmemorable and unrealistic fantasy horror-thriller. Sometimes complete or mixed gore is better than psychologically unsatisfying creature mumbo.

Out Come the Wolves (2024)
[4.6] Wolves with "decayed" teeth
A mini thrilling production that is tight on budget at the detriment of the storylines and development. It's mildly horror and roller-coaster gory. The acting is average to good, especially the lead female's.
Suffers from big illogical thinking, bows and arrows that ultimately do nothing, no pistol, no sub-machine gun and even the knives are scarcely used.
Needed more people, more maiming and casualties, all very graphicly depicted. As it is, it's just a mini bland tale of survivor.

The First Omen (2024)
[6.5] Half-impact prequel
Watching 'The first Omen' I was mildly impressed and entertained. Aside the very good photography, 1970s sceneries and "brilliant" visual and CGI effects, the story is bland, untold raw with absolutely not enough tremor scenes and shots, graced only with good acting by the dedicated cast and foremost by the young female lead.
Most things and the "monster" were left to the imagination superseded only by some rosy skin. NC-17 initial rating was the better choice here , not a syrupy R one.

The Beast Within (2024)
[4.8] A poster depicting total darkness would have been more "scary" !
A slow-burn of a "horror" where nothing impactful, interesting or game-changing happens; it is rather clumsy, has Kit Harington as "executive" producer and besides the good acting and wet atmosphere, we only see minuscule views and shots of the beast, spending almost the entire time of the movie with flowers, wood-chopping, eating sandwiches and looking with worried eyes, even the adorable puppy wasn't given enough screentime.
In retrospect, adds nothing to the genre and makes 80s-90s alike movies seem like masterpieces.

Longlegs (2024)
[6.3] 33 years after 'Silence of the Lambs' comes mini-weirdo 'Longlegs'
A semi-interesting, "wonderfully thrilling!" movie where everything is on point while you either bang your head or plug your ears when 'Longlegs' gives you the opportunity. It is not bad, it's mystically and "occult" average and it is my opinion that both Nicolas Cage and Maika Monroe delivered with that bizarre and weird script.
I would have liked it to be more gory and less mumbo-weirdo, so overall it gets a presentable above-average score.
P. S. The sequence where Longlegs bashes his head was way more interesting and impactful than the very last ending shot that ruined that "shiny" bang.

Trap (2024)
[5.4] Diluted over a Football field
A sub-standard production by an aging M. Night Shyamalan who's way behind his trademark early mystery and quality movies up to 2021 "Old". Even "Knock at the cabin" was better. The only redeeming "thing" about this one is Josh Hartnett's "crawling under your skin" acting. Besides that all other actors and actresses are just moving human "objects" and the worst thing about "Trap" is that it lacks gut-wrenching situations and stuff.
Psychological thrillers are to my taste, but this one is just diluted over a Football field.

[6.6] Broken love
A well-made movie that clamps your inner and outer senses, all thanks to Melissa Barrera delightful play and believable acting plus her "concerned" facial expression. It is a simple movie, is not pretentious, could have been more scary with more background in picture and motion.
Would have liked the woman's spirit to end up in her as a new wicked "home".

Another bright movie from Marillon Cotillard, the very talented French actress who shines in other ways in this limited, averagely deep production. Everything is on point in a simple, semi-impactful and mysterious way. The beginning was well developed alongside the middle, just the end and what precede it was a little average, hurting the production in a minimal to the sense way.

A Quiet Place: Day One (2024)
[5.9] Having a nightmare: night one
A touching movie and that's about it. Everything's wasted besides the purring cat. The visual effects and acting are good but are just diluted in the aimless and semi-senseless storyline plots. It was a mistake to make a third 'A Quiet Place' movie without rational thinking, it was a mistake to change the actors (50 percent mistake) and above all it was a mistake to have a 1:29h runtime without gore, red and torn fleshes.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die (2024)
[6.1] No active Captain Howard, no "wusssaaaaaaaaa" equal generic Bad Boys at best
Like the previous Bad Boys, this one too failed to grab my interest in the fullest way and ignite the spark and magic so dearly felt with the 1995 and 2003 movies.
The problem again, stronger than the previous one, is that the movie is too crowded as for the protagonists and "teammates"; unless they make a Bad Boys movie with only Mike and Marcus in it as the bright protagonists (no panic attack, no forced jokes, no tired faces and ugly crowded family, especially Armando!) with the ever magic "wusssaaaaaaaaa", any potential subsequent attempt is doomed to fail.
Nothing outshines Bad Boys I & II, directed with dexterity by Michael Bay.

[6.1] Straight to retirement
Presumably from Eddie Murphy (more or less): "I was in my twenties when the original was made; I'm not twenty anymore; so it was hard at times, but we managed to do it , "finish it" ".
Well, when I saw these sentences, I thought to myself that after 40 years since the original, this movie couldn't be actually bad; Bad it isn't, though thrilling, full of comedy and "action-packed" it isn't either. Problem is the movie is too crowded, Axel looks like a flat constipated Axel with a too constipated daughter, the jocks don't land well, if they land at all and it was like a 60+ y.o. Jackie Chan movie without the TM comedy and martial arts.
I like Eddie Murphy very much, but boy, does he look tired in this one, so tired, like a flat tire.

Time, tides and "polka dot" holes in psyches
On a too late season 2: Drastically and clearly underwhelming, unfocused and most of all uninteresting. After two years of scratching their heads and dreaming of timeline, time-travel mumbo jumbo, they came up with this subpar production.
Good acting (crystal clear) don't make up for a poor, confused script and plots.
Time to think of a closing last season with quality plots and possibly a whole new team of writers with imagination who know their jobs.

A "mini"-series for teens who love and adore supernatural, it's full of uninteresting cheesiness, the acting is actually good, all the rest are not and are just mishmash ticking and counting until each episode ends. As always with Disney productions, it has no serious layers, though with some depth, is totally kindergarten forgettable.

What could you possibly write about this series besides wetness, screaming, moaning, hurting and "distasteful" peak sensations of the senses and faces. It is too weird slow with super uninteresting conversations and happenings, with good acting though, but failing to really grab viewers' attention.
You make a series, you want it impactful, enjoyable by both genders, so with that story, make it at least a sixteen episode one that slowly but surly unfolds with a real ending.

Parish (2024)
Everybody lost including us
A soporific "limited" series where you just "woke up" from cars' engine roars, chases, gun shot bangs and wounds. Besides the good acting and semi-thrilling atmosphere it has nothing to offer, the worst and the most detrimental to the show was his family and any children in it. They sucked up any thrill, drama and crime soap-opera that you got involved with in its 6 tiny episodes.
Giancarlo Esposito performed at his usual peak with gray hairs and minuscule screenplay plots this time, but overall the series is a waste with too little episodes.

Instead of an army of soldier witches, we have an army of drama
Another fantasy show with an interesting idea and premise, but poorly executed with endless side plots and uninteresting to horrible sub-plots, taking woke boxes to another level. The acting is good, the girls more or less interesting, the visual effects and CGI the forte of the show and the score thrillingly accompanying.
Instead of PG-13, needed an R screenplay and so would have gathered another '2' ratings point.

Nothing to say and tell about 'Tarot' besides being childishly, generically and not-so-mindlessly entertaining, not having an ounce of horror, interesting (only) in the astrologer-fortuneteller background and distant past and suffering most of all of PG-13 kindergarten scares. It needed gruesome annihilation of the the so scared friends and impossibility for the curse to being reversed back.
Budget wasted on this.

A cupid documentary where natural beauty intermixes and is interlaced with extravagant creations, "poetic" rendering and 2.5-3D paintings combined with a horrible flow and below-average frozen entertainment.
The art is interesting, the creations and "paintings" so so and even artists would ineluctably have a hard time appreciating it.
Budget is wasted on this.

Force of Nature: The Dry 2 (2024)
[4.5] Forcefully washed away
A dry film set in a wet picturesque rain forest bearing soporific flow and Valium-induced mysterious vibes, so much worse than the first film which by the genre standards was already a disaster.
Nothing shines out and holds your interest besides some good score and everything that is not related to humans and the movies' actors.
Just the map and compass by the end of the film was of above interest. Hope they make a third one ("jamais deux sans trois") and correct their past mistakes with a real crime/mystery/drama in the genre of 'The Tourist' with at least 2h20m real runtime.

Humane (2024)
[5.1] DOcumented Cherry-crazy Siblings
A laughable horror thriller drama where the horror factor is as gut-wrenching and thrilling as ducks' eggs hatching which by the way is adorable and thrilling in a feel-good way.
The acting and the visual effects are the forte of the movie, especially the "satire" blood that after zillion years in look-alike productions looked and felt like real blood.
The flow was another good part of it and had it had a better more horrorful ending, having Bob without (you choose which cells and parts) that would have been a great satirical movie, being accompanied and ending with delightful piano performance.
They had all the yummy ingredients, but they messed it up, having papa's sacrifice go to waste.

Again, a movie that is a disgrace to the whole entertainment industry. I sometimes think that the producers, writers and directors of such "sizzling rotten shrimps" do it on purpose. Having viewers on the edge of their seats while banging their heads on their cell phones.
I'm not surprised, that's not the first drivel of such that I've watched, won't be the last, but I'm still struggling to find the reason of such movies.
So far, I've found none other than these are being made on purpose. Maybe some very hidden message or evil hypnosis between frames. Who knows?!
