Old Henry (2021)
Great movie I didn't even know who he was until the end!
Slow paced but interesting enough to keep you watching I loved the scenery and the acting in this western. It's basically set on this one guys little farm the whole movie but it was really good! Nice acting and action and a great story. If you like westerns you will surely enjoy this flick!
I didn't know who the main character was until the final scene which made it so much more enjoyable. The ending was a bit sad bit made it unpredictable which is a good thing! And the acting by old Henry's son was very good! It could have been a bit longer but it was a decent length for a western and if you are into westerns I think you will enjoy this one!
The Strangers: Chapter 1 (2024)
Really not that horrible especially if you haven't seen the original it's a good scary movie but very unrealistic.
So the reviews on here are so negative I had to wrote a positive one! It's not a horrible movie to be honest. It's basically the same as the original strsngers movie though, so from what I've read they made 3 new strangers movies all at once, this will involve a spoiler so stop reading if you don't want to know the ending
So the story is much like so many other horror movies, young couple decide to take some weird exit to place in middle of no where. People there are pretty weird towards them, their new car mysteriously stops working looks like the local
mechanic sabotaged it to get the work and make some money. So they are stuck for the night and manage to get an air bnb like cabin off the internet amazing they even gave connection out there mind you! They go to the cabin and not long after they get a loud knock at the door with what sounds like a little girl outside asking if her friend is home. The guy decides to leave his partner in this scary cabin and go get his asthma pump he left in their car and get some food meanwhile the strangers somehow get into the cabin with the gf. The rest of the movie the couple are hiding and trying to evade the three weirdos dead set on killing them. The guy manages to find a shotgun with plenty of ammo in the shed yet he manages to shoot the wrong guy and kills some innocent man. They end up losing to the weirdos and tied up in two chairs where the strangers stab the couple one by one. Really horrible unsatisfying way to end the movie however we see the girl is in hospital at the end and apparently doesn't die! So at least the next chapter might be some good revenge movie hopefully!
So the main actress in this movie was making the second movie in the afternoon and this movie in the morning I read which is crazy! Never heard of this before! And as you can tell if she's in the next chapter she survives right!
What I found very frustrating was how the boyfriend somehow found a shot gun and lots of ammo and they end up losing to a knife and a axe!
The movie captured the same helplessness as the first movie the acting was very good I thought and the main female lead she was very convincing as being scared out of her brains by these weirdos in her house trying to kill her.
If you liked the first one you most likely won't like this as it's the same story but just not as good but I think it's a really good horror movie in its own right however very frustrating as most horrors are like how the strangers some how just missed the cops at the very end and how the shotgun didn't win a knife fight! I'm not sure why they had to make three new strangers movies though? So that will be five stranger movies in total!!!
If you haven't seen the original definitely give it a go and it's gonna be interesting where they go with the next chapter hopefuly the chick will have some crazy revenge going on with the local weirdo hicks!
Mr Inbetween (2018)
Just watch this amazing show (warning very violent though)
Incredible show full of everything from drama and action to basically horror and dark comedy. The cast is perfect from Ray and his best mate to his love interest and his daughter, it all blends tpgether perfectly. You will sometimes end up laughing at stuff you probably shouldnt laugh at like but thats the beauty of the show but it's not for the feint hearted some of the scenes very gruesome and bloody.
It has a great dark sense of humour and sometimes it gos so close to the edge it nearly falls off!
It's a shame the eps are very short though the series should have been two or three times longer just enjoy the ride! Unfortunately it ends on a cliff hanger but hopefuly they continue this show sometime in the future as it's one of the best unknown Aussie drama action series you will watch.
Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire (2023)
A really interesting Sci Fi flick with cool characters and amazing visuals, why all the hate?
So the movie isn't perfect but you people giving this a 1 or a 4, seriously? The visuals are absolutely stunning, the characters and creatures are sometimes jaw droppingly cool and unique! So it isn't the perfect movie and could have had some more background character development, it was still a stunning visual treat for your eyes and a good Sci Fi movie in its own right.
I watched the whole movie and wasn't bored for a second. Makes me think these comments are fake or put here for alterior motives. You guys don't know what a truly horrible movie is that's for sure but just definitely not this!
If you love science fiction movies you should definitely check this one out! I haven't seen anything like this for quite some time and perfectly quenched my thirst for Sci Fi!
The Tax Collector (2020)
It's not as bad as everyone says, it has some much potential though, could have been epic.
All the other reviews basically sum it up. It's just badly written and not enough character dialogue. I liked all the characters and the music, but it needed to be longer, more serious, more character development. It's still worth watching, certainly not a 1 out of 10. It's very gory.
Solace (2015)
The most far fetched ridiculous movie ever created.
I mean don't get me wrong, it's a ok movie. Hopkins is decent, the pace is ok. But to think that these two guys, Hopkins and Farrell are superhero like psychics that can predict all future happenings in complete accuracy is absolutely ridiculous. Nobody has ever been able to predict exact future happenings as these two are suppose to be doing. It gets all a bit too stupid in the end for me to handle. Avengers has a more believable plot.
Guest House (2020)
Fun flick homage to 80's risky type movies, don't expect oscar performances.
I got what I wanted, silly pauly shore movie with over the top nudity, And general depravity. These sorts of movies died out unfortunately, good to see them make a come back, would suit date night movie, doing drugs movie, watch it high etc. not that I was high, but that's would would get the most out of it.
Lots of nudity, lots of drug use, a few jokes. Something light hearted to waste a couple hours,
Hubie Halloween (2020)
Adam ruins the movie, it's pretty cool kids or family movie except for the horrible voice.
This movie I thought would be cool, it has the grown ups cast in it, Halloween is fun and cool, but Adams stupid voice is really hard to listen to. I mean it really shocks me that Adam Sandler thought this character Hubie with the dumb voice, would be mildly funny? Kids will like it up to 12 or 13 but he could have made a movie for us all to enjoy. Unfortunately it's in competition to Jack and Jill for worst Adam Sandler movie ever made!
Blue Valentine (2010)
A depressing trainwreck of a movie scattered into different time periods.
Just overall very depressing. What is the point with these movies jumping around different periods of time in the story? Half the time you are trying to work out what time period you are in, it helps a little with the balding look of gosling as the later period of time. Michelle Williams was good as she always is. However the movie is a little boring to be honest, with a very un climatic ending of which nothing actually happens, literally. I'm kind of annoyed I wasted the time watching this.
The Silencing (2020)
Watch it for the surprising and satisfying ending.
Most Hollywood movies tend to follow a linear path with a generic ending, however this ending was very satisfying and unpredictable. I found this movie pretty entertaining, the directing and music score really excellent. As some others stated the blonde sheriff lets it down a little, but it didn't matter the acting from the others and the suspense made up for it. A movie that will make you watch until the very end.
Project X (2012)
This is based of Corey Worthingtons party in Australia that got out of hand
Just. A party movie, young ppl will enjoy it, it's based explicitly on the Australian guy that made national headlines for his party that went out of control. Except they made Corey some fat Jewish guy with glasses where in fact he was a more personable guy and kind of funny.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018)
It was so bad I forgot I even saw it!!!
So I was watching Jurassic World tonight, a movie I do enjoy, and I was thinking, did I really watch a horrible sequel to this? And I did in fact see a horrible sequel. So bad I wiped it from my memory.
With reviews on IMDB, sometimes the people that bag a movie are wrong, but not this time. It's just a pretty boring movie with a horrible storyline and it's just not in the same league as the others. I hope the next one is good, Jurassic world 1 was a great movie imho, it wasn't the best movie ever but it had that dinosaur magic about it and they need to bring that back on the next one.
The Beach House (2019)
It was really pretty interesting movie with unfortunate ending.
Some movies are so badly acted or boring you can't even finish them, but this movie I found intriguing enough to capture my curiosity.
I tend to not watch previews or trailers any more as they ruin movies so I really didn't know what this movie was going to be about. Are the house guests killers? Is there a plague of zombies? Has a virus taken over the world? We really don't know what's happening for quite some time.
A young couple head off to the fathers lovely beach house and come across an unexpected mysterious couple already in the house, things go fine until the edibles are brought out and then all hell breaks loose! In fact is this an anti marijuana propaganda flick? Lol perhaps.....
The acting was very solid, the location and scenery was really nice and the the only thing that was lacking was the abrupt ending that gave you no idea what happened to the girl. Movie was a bit like "The Fog" in fact, very similar in ways. Don't expect non stop thrills, expect a gradual build up to the story. Give it a shot, you might like it.
Deep Blue Sea 3 (2020)
Really really hard to watch.....
When people say that there is good acting in this movie, they must be trolling right? After trying to watch this for an hour I just want all the actors to be eaten by the terrible cgi sharks. THe actors look ok, but when they open their mouths I don't care what they say as they have no emotion in them at all. Probably one of the most boring movies I've even seen.
Swallow (2019)
Compelling acting but movie kind of went downhill
What a wonderful incredibly gorgeous actress, her performance nothing short of stunning. Really enjoyed this movie right up until 3/4 mark of the movie and didn't really like the way it was sort of rushed towards the ending. Then the credits. Shame as I was really enjoying it and the movie deserved more time out into the ending.
Relic (2020)
Hardly a horror movie
I mean the acting is good, it's a decent movie, but it's just a bit all too depressing, it's really a documentary or the horrible disease dementia. Set in a lovely scenic spot with good acting. I hate how they made this out to be something that it isn't. The stupid sound and creaking is too over the top as well.
You Should Have Left (2020)
What the hell did I just watch?
Really made no sense. Attracted by the cast, love Seyfried and Bacon, but this movie is just meh. Is the house possessed? Possibly. We don't really know, we are just left clueless after watching this. Very frustrating as great cast,Nice surroundings etc. but nothing happens the entire movie. Really annoyed I waster 90 minutes of my life. Freddy got fingered had more entertainment value then this crap.
Selvmordsturisten (2019)
I thought this movie was amazing but depressing !
Very interesting topic that's for sure, imagine having a terminal illness and wanting to end on your own terms. Everyone should have that right, but no, most places in the world do not allow you to finish your own life. This movie poses a unique possibility to go to an amazing place and have your fantasies come true and end on your own terms, But you better not change your mind, or they will hunt you with a sniper rifle!!!! I saw similarities to The Lobster in a lot of ways, although the different time periods in the film seem thrown together and you sometimes don't know what's going on. It was still a really interesting ride though, and makes you think about life, death and terminal illness, depressing, but real,
Freddy Got Fingered (2001)
Watch it again if it repulsed you years ago. This is a timeless piece of artistic genius.
Watched this about 18 ago or so. It was disgusting, the most horrible gross movie I'd had the misfortune of watching.
What the hell was I thinking? Was watching Toms new podcast on YouTube, and I remembered this movie I hated. Went back and watched it.
You either get this movie or you don't, it's either gonna make you laugh out loud and spit your coffee out when his wheel chair bound girl says she doesn't want his expensive jewels she just wants to s@ck his c@ck lmao. Or him delivering the baby and swinging it round and round the room, holt crap it's hilarious, I'm a sick mofo for loving this movie, he was and is a comic genius. And I think I saw where jim CARREY stole most of his looks and bits from, from Tom in this movie. Or maybe it was the opposite. Anyway, this is satire, he's making fun of the industry as a whole, it's art, comedic art, and I hope you give it a try!
Just Add Water (2008)
A very enjoyable, chill movie with a lovely love story, set in a very cool desert location.
I liked the cast for this movie and the location, i wasn't disappointed. It's not really super fast paced, bit slow and methodical instead. The movie revolves around a guy that has been in this town since high school, and always remembered the good times, when there was water in the big lake there. He has a wife that's been cheating on him for years and is quite depressed after finding this out. However he finds attraction to his childhood sweetheart that works at the local supermarket and is smitten on him since high school. The movie doesn't really go anywhere but I enjoyed it anyway, the characters are great and believable and this movie is really worth a watch. The female lead is stunningly gorgeous as well that always helps.
Downhill (2020)
Why is it a comedy, THERES not a joke in the whole movie.
That's the problem, will Farrell is NOT FUNNY in this movie, it's not a horrible movie, Will is like George Constanza when he knocked over the elderly and pushed through the kinds when there was a fire!! It's a drama of a couple that's hate each other and have kids, it's an interesting movie, but it's analysis aa comedy, it's a woody Allen type drama that is kind of interesting, especially if you like the snow, it's not bad guys, but it's not stepbrothers!!!
The Transporter Refueled (2015)
Yosemite Sam filling in for Statham.
Wow what a horrible sequel, they were all good up to this one, couldn't they have picked an actor without a lisp? Poor story, poor acting, bad action, no soul.
The Package (2018)
Friggin hilarious if your not a stuck up old prude
This movie has truly laugh out loud moments but only if you can accept the kind of content it delivers. My dog was wondering why I was laughing so lidly at the tv, it was this ridupiculous movie, like similar campy risqué movies from the eighties and nineties, it all seems to click together and the cast do a great job with some really likeable characters. This is like road trip and American pie for the new gen.
Stung (2015)
Fun fun fun, how all comedy horrors should be made.
Really enjoyed this flick, the two main stars have a nice screen presence, lance henricksen was a cool addition to this movie. It was directed well, with a great cast that created a fun and gory tale of monster wasps killing and laying eggs in everyone at a country manor party.
Some b grade horror come are terrible, but others like this, and zombeavers comes to mind, are fun and lighthearted flicks.
Us (2019)
Shame the hype didn't lead into anything substantial.
The idea was unique and interesting, but as soon as they met this mystery family it was all downhill from there with no suspense or interest really for the rest if the movie. A real shame as I was looking forward to this movie, I like movies that are different, and this one is different, Just poorly and boringly implemented it seemed to never end. Get out on the other hand was a really good movie, but he missed the mark with this one.
