Hell on Wheels (2011)
An absolute 9 out of 10...
A series that is an easy 9 out of 10 that would be a possible 10 out of 10 if not for the pathetic overacting from Christopher Heyerdahl, that he adds to every single project he's involved in. Just a ridiculous casting for his role in this series. Sadly, the role could have been a very beneficial addition to the series if it wasn't cast by someone that has the need to overact and turn their role into a detriment to the series they're in. This man does this to every single role he's cast in.
Anson Mount is absolutely fantastic in this, as he is in everything he's a part of. A great casting for the role. Common is also great with the role he was given and is a huge benefit to the series. Too bad this same great casting couldn't have been done for the role of The Swede. Would have been a 10 out of 10 from me, and I would guess from a lot of others. Christopher Heyerdahl is nothing more than barely a B movie actor with very little acting skill. So very sad that he was included in the cast of this great series.
The Acolyte (2024)
Ridiculously laughable writing and acting...
I'm all for diversity in projects like this. But, only when that diversity is deserving of the opportunities they're being given. This is some of the most pathetic writing ever done in this fictional universe and an absolutely shameful project by Leslye Headland and she should never be allowed near another production in this fictional universe or any other subject at all.
The character creation is beyond pathetic and cast with even more annoyingly terrible acting. Amandla Stenberg is just awful. Lee Jung-Jae's sad overacting is ridiculous. Charlie Barnett takes a horrible character creation and only digs it's grave with his lack of any bit of acting skills. Rebecca Henderson is handed a role that she never should have been allowed to be anywhere near, and turns the ridiculous character into another sad, weak character that lacks all respect of any of the mythos of the Jedi with her pathetic acting ability. And Leah and Lauren Brady have to be two of the most annoying children ever to be cast into roles. The 3rd episode is so far beyond an annoying joke. The only actress that showed she deserved her role, even as pathetically written as it was, was Dafne Keen.
Such an absolutely ridiculous pile of diversity that never deserved to be anywhere close to a project like this. And, the biggest blame belongs to Leslye Headland. She should be ashamed of herself for leaving the ugly mess of a scar like this that she's left on this exciting fictional universe. Absolutely shameful.
Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part Two (2024)
What a boring mess of shameful writing...
Just 90 minutes of continuously boring and incompetent writing. It's true when reviewers state that spoilers can't be posted because nothing actually happens to be spoiled.
Just one of the many examples of the incompetence in the writing is Superman needs Supergirl's help to simply blow out a fire while he needs to just weld one wire connection to fix the problem. When he can move at the speed of The Flash. A task that could have been completed by him in less time than it took him to say "Ok, Kara. Hit it." The 90 minutes are just full of shamefully written scenes like these by James Krieg.
It's absolutely inconceivable why this "project" requires a 3 movie set. Let alone got the production of just 1 movie approved.
Shame on you, Krieg, for accepting a paycheck for this stuff. 3 out of 10 is being generous.
3 Body Problem (2024)
Not a bad series...
It's not a bad series with some interesting writing and casting. But, also some very boring writing and ridiculous casting.
Liam Cunningham is great! Benedict Wong is absolutely fantastic! And, Jess Hong is also pretty good in her role.
However, Eiza González is an absolutely terrible actress. Constant scenes with her poor, ridiculously forced acting of her crying or moping with her buck teeth hanging out, lips gaping open waiting for the insects to fly into her mouth. She so poor that it's just shameful casting with how good Cunningham and Wong are. Just a terrible casting for one of the meaningful, important characters in the storyline.
Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024)
Some of the worst writing and acting...
For anyone to be giving this more than a 6 out of 10 is nothing but purely irresponsible.
This is just a huge mess of shameful writing. Very sad attempts at humor. And awful failures at suspense. A huge mess of predictability and horrible Dad jokes that don't belong anywhere in a production. Even a childish one like this one.
And an even more shameful job at casting. From pathetic overacting anger management. To some of the worst attempts to make sad humor somehow be funny. A bunch of wannabe B actors given a joke of a script written by purely shameful incompetence. Giving this a 4 out of 10 is VERY generous.
As many have said already, do yourselves a favor and stick to the animated series with writing done by individuals that actually cared about the story they were telling and the quality of their writing.
Blue Eye Samurai (2023)
Very poor, lazy writing that only got worse in each episode...
Episode one and two were pretty good. The story seemed to have promise. And the casting for the voices was done fairly well.
Unfortunately, as each episode passed, the writing only got worse. The protagonist continually showed how weak they were and that they would have been dead long before the series even began. And it just got even more ridiculous in the final two episodes. Especially the final episode where a number of soldiers with swords and bows and arrows are pathetically slaughtered by two thousand with guns. But yet, when the protagonist throws a simple candle, the entire palace turns into an inferno that somehow kills these two thousand soldiers. But, of course, the protagonist is fine and this inferno doesn't affect them.
Sadly poor, lazy, shameful writing in what could have been a great story and series, well deserving of a second season and more episodes. Instead, it's simply a sad mess that Netflix would be smart to cancel completely. This team of writers responsible for the mess don't deserve any more cash from Netflix, sadly.
An Optimist's Guide to the Planet (2024)
A fantastic series of feel good episodes...
It just gets better and better as each episode airs. Nikolaj.should be employed to do many other series similar to this one. He's absolutely great and a natural host for series like this. Hopefully, the episodes continue to get better and better. This crazy world we all live in direly needs more of these feel good series that give hope for the future of our planet and our species. Especially when that hope is based on simple common sense solutions. We just need to get the ignorant who are bent on denying science and technology out of the way of progress. There's no room in our world for this pathetic ignorance and denial of facts to get in the way of future generations having a planet that they can peacefully live in our future.
Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2024)
One of the worst Prime productions available...
Full of incredibly boring writing. The entire production is nothing but absolutely pathetic producing. With undeniably incompetent directing that only deserves shame.
Hard to believe that anyone in their right mind could give this any more than a 3. There's nothing in the series to deserve any rating above that. Just found myself continually saying to myself "GET ON WITH IT ALREADY", waiting for the "action" or even anything exciting to happen at all.
Simply putting an explosion into the story here or there doesn't make it the action/spy thriller that this series should have been. This is nothing but a sad, boring, pathetic attempt at a romance story. And, it even fails miserably at accomplishing that.
Heart of Stone (2023)
The writing and casting just has bad B Movie written all over it...
A sad, feeble attempt to compete with Mission Impossible that fails in so many ways. Absolutely pathetic, generic writing and character creation. Sophie Okonedo is a clueless, overconfident "leader" that would have been killed LONG before she ever got to her current position. Constantly over acting, as Sophie does in just about everything she's ever been in, somehow always surprised and confused. Just an awful character creation and even worse casting. Alia Bhatt is an overweight, out of shape, overconfident child that also would have been killed long before she ever had a thought about revenge. A terrible actress cast to an absolutely pathetic character build that's somehow surprised when she realizes that the criminals she's surrounded herself with are killers. Imagine that. Just more of the sad, generic writing and character creation. I'm all for casting minority females into as many roles as possible. However, casting directors must realize that these individuals MUST be capable of selling at least some sort of legitimacy of the role they're being considered for. This production falls short in so many areas that not only is it no competition for Mission Impossible, but it's also not even competition for many B Movies with the same poor writing and poor casting. Seems like the writing and casting were left for 12 year olds that had absolutely no idea what they were doing. 4 out of 10 is very generous here.
Foundation (2021)
Does so much injustice to Asimov's creation...
Another awesome, in-depth story turned into a shallow mess of a soap opera. Continually straying away from the Sci-Fi that made the story great and turning to ridiculous love stories and unnecessary drama. Not to mention the absolutely awful actress that Lou Llobell is that just destroys what was an incredible story. She is like a scared, weak 14 year old with a huge booty. Which is so far from what Gaal Dornick should be if the story wasn't completely butchered. And, why exactly would a character in her position have a South African accent? If her ability to act is so weak that she's not even capable of overcoming that accent, she never should have even been considered for a great character like Gaal. Just sad. Anyone that's giving this more than a 6(VERY generous) out of 10 has never bothered to read Asimov's creation to know how great the story should be and how this soap opera has failed so badly to portray that great story.
Rise of Empires: Ottoman (2020)
Highly recommend...some inaccurate dramatization and one awful "expert" hired to speak...
For anyone to rate this lower than a 6 is simply ridiculous. And, some giving it a 1 are just not worth the time of reading any review they write about anything at all, let alone this series.
There is some inaccurate dramatization in the series. But, to not expect that in a series like this simply isn't being realistic. Damla Sonmez(Ana) is an awful actress cast into a ridiculously written role full of pathetic over-acting and unnecessary drama and tears.
But, one huge reason why this series doesn't get a 9 from me is the hiring of author Roger "Sylvester the Cat" Crowley as one of the experts to talk about the events. Thhhuffering Thhhuccotathhhh... The man needs to stick to writing and should never, ever, be hired to speak on camera about anything. Say what you will. But, the man's speech impediment should never have even been considered for the series.
All in all, a great series that I would highly recommend.
National Treasure: Edge of History (2022)
How anyone can rate this a 10 is an absolute joke...
This pile of junk makes CW series look like quality products. Terrible, childish writing and acting. Poor, weak humor. And another pathetically failed attempt to resurrect an established series that should have been left as it is.
Lissette Olivera's acting ability is almost non-existent. The writing for these characters is childish and cheesy that it makes you question why you're watching this junk every 15 seconds. And, that's being very generous.
Disney should be ashamed of themselves on this one. Not only didn't the writing of this crap not deserve the production, but the direction and acting only makes that awful writing even worse.
There's no other rating that this should get besides a flat out 1. Can't believe I actually wasted the time it took to actually watch all of the first 2 episodes. Won't bother with the 3rd episode. Absolutely horrible.
See (2019)
Sylvia Hoeks is a terrible actress...
There is no way this series deserves a 7 or higher rating. The amount of annoyances alone in the series removes it from deserving anything above a generous 6. The poor writing and casting brings it down to a VERY generous 5.
And, the biggest annoyance of them all is Sylvia Hoeks. She is an absolutely awful actress. And, her casting as Queen Kane is incredibly pathetic. A character as ridiculous as her would have been killed LONG before the story even started. Knowing this character was going to remain in the series as long as she has, and to cast this fraud of an actress is nothing but complete incompetence. And, those responsible for casting her in the role should be ashamed of themselves. The poor writing added to her absolute inability to act is simply laughable. It's sad, because Hera Hilmar is actually pretty good in her role.
Archie Madekwe is another character that would have been dead long ago, and probably not made it much longer in the story than Queen Kane.
Momoa does so much overacting. But, that has to be expected coming from his very limited acting ability. So overrated.
Yellowstone (2018)
This series is lucky that Costner agreed to take part...
Costner, as always, is great. He does a fine job of being an absolute jerk. A bit too much overacting from him. But, the series is lucky they were able to convince him to take part.
The reason this only gets a 4 out of 10 from me, is Kelly Reilly's absolutely pathetic acting ability. Her overacting is ridiculous. Her drama queen portrayal of her role is shameful. The series didn't need it, shouldn't have it, and is destroyed because of it. So very sad and pathetic. Whoever was responsible for casting her in this role should be ashamed of themselves. She's awful, in every way, shape and form in this role. The series could be a 6 or 7 out of 10 without her destroying it. Even the young "Beth Dutton" was an awful actress. Absolutely shameful casting, writing, producing and overacting of this character.
It's sad that this series wasn't written and produced more like 1883 was written and produced. An absolute 9 out of 10 series. The need to write in this over-dramatized Yellowstone junk, instead of concentrating more on authentic story lines and roles like 1883 did very successfully is disappointing at the very least.
How anyone can give this a higher rating than a 6 or 7 at best with this unnecessary drama and Kelly Reilly cast in ANY PART of the series is completely baffling.
La Brea (2021)
Another embarrassing NBC pile of crap...
NBC hires 12 year olds again to write another show for them. Absolutely pathetic writing. Awful casting with horrible acting. Full of cancelled series actors. Embarrassing CGI. And the same old greedy NBC crap riddled with 4 minute commercial breaks every 5 minutes.
Hope everyone has other job options. If this makes it through a season, it'll be a huge surprise.
Ordinary Joe (2021)
An average show that feels like it's creators need to take their ADHD meds...
Average show with an interesting premise and a solid cast. Natalie Martinez is absolutely gorgeous, and a great casting for her role.
But, with that premise, the writing bounces around so much that it feels like it's made by a bunch of creators suffering from ADHD who can't make up their minds where to go.
It has promise. However, the usual inept failures of NBC have given it their usual kiss of death by placing it in the Monday 8pm EST time slot, trying the impossible. To compete with Monday Night Football. The NBC fools(a pathetic network that destroys most of what they get their hands on-especially their sporting events) continually try to do this impossible task, and only continually fail. And, we all know what it means when people do the same thing over and over, continually failing, and not learning from their mistakes. This is the essence of what NBC is, unfortunately.
Interested to see where the storyline goes. Hopefully, the creators take their ADHD meds and don't ruin the show with mediocre writing.
Titans (2018)
It's average to above average with some poor writing and awful casting...
They are written to be some of the dumbest group of "superheroes" to ever exist. At least it's not written as a childish comedy. Dark and mature make for a MUCH better storyline. If they showed more of Minka Kelly's "backside", I'd be giving it an 8 or 9.
The awful casting of Savannah Welch for ANY role in the show is even worse than the awful casting of Iain Glen for his role. Ridiculous castings.
Ted Lasso: Beard After Hours (2021)
No more Beard episodes...
Scorsese Homage or not. This was, by far, the worst episode yet. No more Beard episodes. More Roy Kent!!
The Voyeurs (2021)
Poor writing with a ridiculous plot and awful casting...
Sydney Sweeney looks like a buck toothed, elf eared 13 year old in this "film". And her acting ability is about the same. I don't understand the infatuation with her. Awful actress.
The writing is weak and the plot is ridiculously trying to be this "modern thriller" with substance, acting ability and a believable story line. It fails horribly at it's attempt to be what it's trying to be. Instead, it's nothing more than a very weak, soft-core porn mess, full of awful actors that aren't believable, a story line that is pathetic, and a plot that is written by inept writers.
A complete waste of time.
Turner & Hooch (2021)
Hooch is great, Josh Peck is pathetic, writing is even worse...
Poor Hooch. Put into this awfully written mess with what might be the most pathetic actor around for a "co-star".
