The checkered pupfish (Cualac tessellatus) is a species of pupfish endemic to Mexico where it is found in the state of San Luis Potosi. This species grows to a length of 8 centimetres (3.1 in) TL. It is the only known member of its genus and can be found in the aquarium trade.
