Summary

Our mantises have hatched! Here they are on their birthday. We received the kit as a kit from Nana and Papa and sent away for the egg case around Christmas. The egg case and starter fruit flies arrived at the end of January.

We didn't quite get around to setting up their new homes but kept an eye on the egg case almost every day. Just when we were beginning to wonder if they had been frozen to death in transport, we found a surprising number suddenly released. Wonder how it is they all come out the same day? The little mantises were significantly larger than I imagined. Hard to believe they all fit in that egg case.
