Saturday Disney is an alternatively named Disney Club in Australia airing Saturday on Seven Network at 6 AM then continues at 7 AM on 7Two.[42]
Regular interstitial segments including minute madness, double dog dare, question of the week and letter of the week.[43] Other segments varied but an example is a visit to a Disney on Ice: Princess Classics production in Singapore in 2005.[44]
History
The block was started in 1990[45] with Seven's proviso that it not be called the Disney Club, being a take on the dated Mickey Mouse Club.[citation needed] In the fall of 2009, the block had its 1,000 episode and aired starting at 6:30 AM.[45] On October 31, 2009, the block's start time was move to 7 AM.[46] In February 2010, the block was moved to 9am -11am.[47]
Nathan Morgan joined as a host in 2011.[48] The program was a Logie Award for Most Outstanding Children's Program nominee in 2012.[49] On March 31, 2012, Saturday Disney move from Seven to 7Two and airing at 7 AM with a new look opener and logo.[43][50] Teigan Nash started presenting on July 27, 2013 replacing Shae Brewster.[51]
- Former hosts: Sofie Formica, Marc Buhaj, Daniel Widdowson,[45] Shelley Craft and Sara Groen,[51] Jack Yabsley, Sally Stanton,[46] Shae Brewster (2003-July 20, 2013)[51]
- current hosts (as of July 27, 2013): Teigan Nash (July 27, 2013-), Nathan Morgan (2011-) and Candice Dixon[51]
