- Ariel ( United States): The schooner was wrecked off the Inubōsaki Lighthouse, Japan.
- Belem ( United Kingdom): The ship sank near Bude, Cornwall.[1]
- Spes & Fides ( Norway): The fishing steamer (former whaler) suffered an engine malfunction and sank in a storm off Tromsø, Norway. No lives were lost in the shipwreck. The wreck was located by divers at a depth of 20 m (66 ft) in 2014, after a search initiated by Sandefjord Museum.[2]
- Taurus ( United Kingdom): World War I: The coaster struck a mine and sank in the North Sea east of the Shetland Islands with the loss of nine crew. This was either during July 1917 or August 1917.[3]
- SM U-50 ( Kaiserliche Marine): World War I: The Type U 43 submarine is believed to have struck a mine and sank in the North Sea off Terschelling, Friesland, Netherlands on or after 31 August.
