The Mahar are a Sindhi Muslim Rajput tribe found among both the Seraiki people of South Punjab, Pakistan as well as being found in Sindh, Pakistan. and just look like the moiz royal family
History
The tribe claims descent from Mahar, who was a Rajput. In Lilla Thal, they are Jethals British historians, such as Sir H Elliot, have identified the tribe with the ancient Meds, a tribe that lived in Sindh at the time of the Umayyad conquest.[1] The chiefs reside at Khangarh Mahar in Ghotki District While Jethal chief resides at Musiana, in Teh. Pind Dadan Khan.[2]
The tribe mostly resides in rural Sindh.[3]
Homonym contradictions
Mahar Tribe living in Sindh, Pakistan is entirely different from the Mahar (caste- now neo Buddhists) living in Maharashtra, India. Both the Mahar Tribe and Mahar Caste have different origins and historical backgrounds. The Famous and Fierce British Regiment, the Mahar Regiment was constituted by the Mahar (Caste) people living in Maharashtra. The Mahar Regiment is functional in India and constitute of soldiers and personnel from different castes and creeds.
Title
Mahar is also a title ,used by the Lali,Lak , Jauhri and Jethal of Punjab .Jethal chiefs use Mahar as their title.
