Simple truth is you can't. You can plan, analyze and implement as much as you want, transport is a dynamic event and there will always be factors you did not anticipate. Of course you can eliminate these as much as possible but impossible to anticipate all. World has gone crazy as for on time deliveries. Be flexible and turn drivers around asap. This will benefit us all where the rigid OTD mentality only drives costs up and frustrates logistics in general. Remember, at the end it's you, as consumer, that have to pay for it.

Some things I find it helpful while managing a transportation team & managing on time delivery: 1. Optimize Routes: Use software to find efficient routes, saving time and fuel. 2. Use a Mixed Fleet: Choose vehicle types based on delivery size and urgency. 3. Plan Deliveries: Group nearby deliveries to reduce trips. 4. Monitor Performance: Track delivery data and adjust schedules. 5. Maintain Vehicles: Prevent breakdowns with regular maintenance. 6. Set Expectations: Communicate realistic delivery windows with customers. 7. Analyze Data: Use past data to predict demand and optimize vehicle use. 8. Use Third-Party Services: Outsource during peak times. 9. Train Drivers: Teach fuel-efficient driving to cut costs and stay on schedule
