Even within the same visa type and country, processing times can vary significantly, especially when it comes to Tier 1 visas for the top specialists. Simply quoting the maximum processing times isn’t the best approach, as obtaining a visa and moving are exhausting processes, and supporting the individual during this time is crucial. The best solution is to constantly track average processing times and be honest and empathetic with the person. When they see that you genuinely care about their visa and are ready to support them, it significantly reduces their anxiety.

If I were to handle and manage Visa processing for employees and candidates, aside from the 3 crucial points mentioned in this article, I would begin by building a database of details such as application date, processing time, reason for delay, nationality, mention any remarks such as festival period etc. So that by the end of 6 months or 1 year, I have reasons for a delayed visa/ fastracked visa; first-hand data to analyze and accordingly give an informed estimate to my candidates/ employees. This is over and above staying in touch with Immigration and having the correct information on their TAT etc.
