Dissatisfaction is an inside job. Being mindful of how our thoughts and feelings impact the reality is essential. Focus on feeling your feelings for 30 seconds and then shift to feeling appreciation and love for yourself is a mindfulness meditation technique to shift out of that feeling that is impacting you in the moment. It’s never an external problem. Our brain identifies it as such. Acknowledge your feelings that’s the only way through!!

Practice Mindful Breathing: Use deep breathing exercises to reduce stress and increase focus. Observe Thoughts Non-Judgmentally: Help them notice and acknowledge their feelings about work without self-criticism. Focus on the Present: Guide them to concentrate on current tasks rather than ruminating on past issues or future concerns. Reflect and Reframe: Encourage brief daily reflections to identify positive aspects of their job and reframe negative thoughts.

When a client feels job dissatisfaction, mindfulness can be a game-changer. I encourage starting with small steps like deep breathing or mini meditation breaks throughout the day to create a sense of calm and presence. This helps reduce stress and allows them to focus on what truly matters. I also guide them in reflecting on what’s causing their dissatisfaction and help them identify patterns. By fostering this awareness, they can make thoughtful decisions toward a more fulfilling and balanced career.
