I was recently faced with this and there was nothing I could do outside of holding the manufacturer in breach of contract and back charging them for liquidated damages. However this delay afforded me an opportunity to expedite other phases of the project to help offset the loss. It’s easy to get tunnel vision, especially since construction is task oriented. I like to create a Construction Complete list at the beginning of a project, and build my schedule off that. This allows me to crate a private schedule that looks out months instead of weeks, also it confines final punch lists to Easter Eggs.
