Projetos automotivos definitivamente não se resumem apenas a configuração inicial do automóvel. Os aspectos de priorização devem fazer parte desde o início do planejamento do projeto até os programas de estruturação de pós vendas e término de vida do veículo. No projeto, a definição do powertrain adequado quanto ao compromisso de desempenho esperado pelo time de produto e atendimento às normas e regulamentações de emissões determinados pela engenharia. No ciclo de vida do veículo, assegurar um plano de manutenção adequado que permita que o veículo mantenha os mesmos padrões após o uso a qual foi projetado.

In my view vehicle performance must be priority number one. Emission should be minimum that the planet can absorb the emissions. So instead of focusing in car to be producing less emissions, slwe should focus in making the planet absorb more of oir emissions and give priority to vehicle performance. Different thinking.

Fuel efficiency is paramount for all new vehicles, be they BEV, hybrid or ICE. Our impact on the global environment must be managed and improved. Fuel efficiency does not mean boring, or negative. We must seek innovation in safety improvements and weight management, no longer relying on increased structural masses for resisting deformation, but improving primary safety to reduce the need for structural mass. This goes hand in glove with improving vehicle emissions.

It depends on the budget allocated and the engineering team. Innovation is a word used quite often, such that using it in a sentence doesn't seem to share the essence anymore. Having the right minds in your engineering team will help a lot on adapting suitable technologies, also pioneering them to ensure your performance doesn't get affected. OEMs need to adapt to newer technologies both in software and hardware stream, to ensure they deliver what is promised by adhering to the norms of legislation.

Ethanol has been explored in the Brazilian market as an alternative for some time now. It has proven to be efficient in terms of performance, does not compromise vehicle power and produces low emissions. Electric and hybrid models also reduce emissions, with differentiated performance for vehicles, especially for urban use. It is still a challenge for the market in some aspects, but it is a necessary path for the global future.
