In times of disruption, adjusting your networking strategy starts by understanding that all networking/ marketing revolves around the energy YOU bring and the audience YOU attract. You resonate with certain people because your energy aligns with theirs. Every marketer has a unique following, based on this signature. For example, Gary V, Seth Godin, and Tony Robbins each draw different crowds. This applies to you-your energy is your lead magnet. People are drawn to YOU, not just your service/product. By embracing this, you'll approach networking/marketing with a new perspective, attracting like-minded individuals who resonate with YOUR authentic self.

In my experience - networking is a journey, not a destination. You keep doing it regardless. However, you need to keep tweaking your strategy to align it to your specific goals and situations, especially during disruptive phases. In such cases, what worked for me is one on one interactions as opposed to group events. People were more attentive, opened up more and helped more. They were also willing to share when/how they failed and what they learnt from it, which is even more valuable than success stories.

Absolutely, adapting is crucial right now. I've shifted to virtual networking, attending online events, and using LinkedIn more actively to stay connected. It’s all about building relationships digitally and staying flexible with how we connect.

In times of disruption, networking isn’t just about expanding contacts: it’s about deepening relationships. Focus on quality over quantity.
Instead of trying to meet everyone, prioritize meaningful conversations with those who share your values or offer insight into emerging trends.
Also, embrace virtual spaces as much as physical ones. Digital communities, webinars, and niche forums are buzzing right now.
Lastly, approach networking with a mindset of flexibility. In disruption, industries shift fast, stay open to connections outside your usual circle.
That unexpected contact might open up opportunities in areas you never considered.

In today's ever-changing market, building meaningful connections requires both adaptability and intention. One effective strategy is shifting from traditional transactional networking to relationship-based interactions. By focusing on genuine engagement—listening, providing value, and staying consistent—your network becomes more than just a list of contacts; it transforms into a community of mutual support. Leveraging digital tools, such as virtual meetups and online communities, can also help maintain and grow relationships, even when in-person opportunities are limited. Staying flexible and prioritizing authenticity allows for deeper, more resilient professional connections.
