🧬 This week, I am having the most FUN promoting the Beyond My Years podcast at the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA) Conference being hosted in my hometown of New Orleans. I have had the pleasure of talking to science educators from around the country and some have even given me testimonials of their lives in the classroom and how mentorship has played a critical part of their teaching career. 🍭 My special treat at this conference has been meeting my Beyond My Years podcast Classroom Insider, Eric Cross in person and watching him present! I also got a chance to hang out with Andrew Smolin, my colleague who created the amazing music for the podcast! 🎙On this week's Beyond My Years episode, I chat with Rebecka Peterson, 2023 National Teacher Of the Year, as she recounts how she centered JOY in her classroom as a way to rebel against teacher burnout. It's a POWERFUL episode that will pull at your heart 🧡 strings! Check it out! https://lnkd.in/gxSKWekT Amplify Eric Cross Andrew Smolin Ryan Fields

⏳If you would have told this young woman that 17 years later I would not only still work in education but also regularly get to sit down with passionate, impactful educators that have wisdom beyond my years, I would not have believed you! 📸 These photos are from my very FIRST year of teaching at the elementary level.  There are three things my early years had in common with ALL of the inspiring educators I’ve spoken with through all six episodes on Beyond My Years:  -We relied on having mentor teachers to show us the way. 👯♂️ -We struggled BIG TIME at moments and learned some hard-won lessons. 📚 -The LOVE ❤️ for our students made it ALL worth it! 🧑🎓 🎙️I am proud to be a part of a podcast that gives veteran (seasoned) educators a platform to share their stories and knowledge.  Not only that, but I am proud to be a part of a podcast that might reach a younger version of myself---overwhelmed, excited, and longing for encouragement and community. 🎧 Tune in: at.amplify.com/BMY Amplify

🎙️ As host of Amplify's Beyond My Years podcast, I recently sat down with the 2024 National Teacher of the Year, Missy Testerman. We had a very impactful and inspiring conversation about teacher advocacy and the importance of building relationships with families. 🎧 Listen to this episode to also hear a lively discussion with my Classroom Insider, Eric Cross, as we discuss how to be more flexible and present with your lessons and how to seek mentorship. He will be taking these lessons back to his own classroom! https://lnkd.in/gDjg6GqG Amplify Ann Patterson
