Our Infrastructure & Architecture teams have been hard at work planning for the last quarter of the year. They went back to basics with sticky notes to outline dependencies - there were significant learnings from the two-day session and showcased the importance of communication across teams. Thank you to everyone involved and we'll see the group back in December to collaborate on what's to come in 2025!

Our Des Moines team kicked off football season at our annual All Campus Tailgate alongside teams from Continental Western Group (a Berkley Company), Berkley Agribusiness (a Berkley Company), and Berkley Financial Specialists (a Berkley Company). We are delighted to welcome Lesley Slaninko to the Infrastructure & Architecture team! Lesley brings a wealth of knowledge to her new role and is enthusiastic about contributing to enterprise initiatives. She is eager to get started and "looks forward to advancing Enterprise Architecture within Berkley and enabling BTS to provide the best services to W. R. Berkley Corporation." In her off hours, you can find Lesley spending time outdoors, knitting, or reading. An interesting fact is that she used to coach an archery team for ages 6-18. Last week, BTS partnered with dsmHack to host the dsmHack 2024 Nonprofit Tech Plan Workshop in the Urbandale office. DsmHack aims to give back to the community by bringing together tech leaders and nonprofit organizations located in or around the Des Moines area. During the workshop, technology experts were available to answer tech-related questions. By the end of the workshop, participants walked away with a personalized tech plan that they can either implement independently or include in their application for dsmHack's 2024 Nonprofit Charity Hackathon. BTS will be participating in the dsmHack's Annual Nonprofit Charity Hackathon taking place September 19-21. To participate, be sure to register on the dsmHack website: https://dsmhack.org/.
