On Sunday afternoon, we celebrated the UK's outstanding contribution to film and storytelling at the Toronto International Film Festival. The event was presented by BAFTA North America, the British Film Commission, the British Film Institute with BBC Film, Film4 and the British Consulate in Toronto. UK Consulate-General Fouzia Younis welcomed the crowd to the event, and applauded the British films that share “unique and untold stories…from stories of forced migration to diverse families, a new police officer and even a penguin, [which] show us the UK as we might not have seen it before.” She also discussed how seeing someone who looked like her depicted on screen was pivotal to her own success and trajectory. TIFF CEO Cameron Bailey addressed the crowd and recognized TIFF’s great history of elevating UK film and talent

Our Art of Action season celebrates the artistry of action choreography that has kept audiences on the edge of their seats since cinema began.
