The scariest monster this past month was probably the list of games in our backlog, right? Check out the latest edition of Staff Picks to read which games were haunting our friends over here! We've also asked our crew to name some of the scariest monsters they've encountered in games. One of them includes our teammate wielding a broomstick (somehow).

To commemorate World Mental Health Day, last week we shared what we’ve been working on! For the past year, our team has focused on conducting research, offering more resources for users, and supporting activities centered on the intersection of mental health and games. We’re thrilled to be at #AWNEWYORK24, where we’re unveiling the next evolution of Quests on Discord: Video Quests. Following the success of Game Quests, launched earlier this year, Video Quests offer advertisers a fresh way to connect with players on Discord. From trailers to gameplay reveals, brands now have more ways to engage their audience with Quests. We’re currently working with a handful of partners in gaming and entertainment to roll out our first Video Quests. Want to stay in the loop? For our last employee spotlight of Hispanic & Latiné Heritage month, say hello to Maya Maldonado – Contracts Manager at Discord! Being a part of La Cafetería, our Latiné and Hispanic Employee Resource Group (ERG), has been a great experience for Maya. She has learned a lot and encourages others to embrace being a student of those you work with. Maya believes “there’s so much we can learn from those we work with at all levels of a company, but it starts with asking questions and truly listening. Sitting with others and taking the time to hear about their journeys has not only helped me navigate my own path more easily, but has also deepened my connections with them as individuals. It’s a powerful tool for cultivating meaningful relationships and growth in your career." Maya is encouraged by Discord and La Cafeteria’s strong community of Latiné and Hispanic individuals and allies that give her a deeper sense of confidence and belonging. As a recent hire and member of La Cafetería–our Latiné & Hispanic Employee Resource Group (ERG), Freesia has already found her community and built strong connections at Discord. We’re excited to announce that we’re officially opening Discord Activities to all developers so anyone can build and ship games, music or other interactive experiences on Discord. We’ve also been making a lot of updates to apps on the platform - improving the experience overall for users and adding more opportunity for developers to get discovered and build a successful business.
